It's Now Or Never

Yes they are superspeed, I hadn't cottoned on to the point about superfree though, excellent point.

Hmm, I may add a can into my soup and the curry sounds good too. Thanks girls. And thanks for the compliment Jules. I'm not feeling too hot right now, but I am DETERMINED to break through this wall and string three losses together. **** it, I am gonna set myself up to fail maybe, but I'm gonna aim to shift this 11lbs in the next 5 weeks so I read 12 at the beginning of my weight for my birthday. Diet coke Saturday night it is.

:)

I made the mushy pea curry off this site last week, and although the whole concept of a 'mushy pea' curry just sounds wrong it was actually very very nice! Although nobody else in family is willing to try it! I had mine with wholegrain rice.

Quick write up of today's food while the bairn is eating his sarnie.

Breakfast:
Mixed fruit, branflakes (HEb), low fat natural yoghurt.

Lunch:
Concoction of: roasted Butternut squash, onion, celery, courgette, red lentils, chicken, pearl barley, mushy peas, extra curry powder added to spice it up. A sort of thick soupy mess, but very tasty and filling.

Snack:
Crunchie bar (9.5 syns), Alpen light bar (3.5 syns)

Eve snack: apple.

I have a banana and satsuma for the journey home (I'm at Bedgebury Pinetum for their Electric Forest event) and milk allowance left so I might treat myself to a skinny capuccino at some point later.

Ha ha, well my 4.5lb gain says I need even more right now!

Pinetum good, but I thought could have better for your money. Off to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich tomorrow. So tired now. Will try and do some study though before I collapse!

Food, to add on to the rest of today's, I had a capuccino (HEa), satsuma, roast pork, onions (it was in a roll but I threw that away) and then 3 toasted marshmallows at the end (3 syns apparently).

So that takes me to 16 syns. But that'll do. I'll have to do tomorrow's packed lunch in the morning. I've got no will to do it now.

Missfortissimo - a sarnie is a sandwich!!! :8855:

Pinkie - sorry been awol for the last week. A certain ChelseaLou has been a-visiting and distracting me.

Sorry about the gain - although you sound rejuvenated again now.

You do EE right? Well mushy peas are free (not superfree) on EE & Green but remember they are a high fat veg that isn't free on Red. The reason I say this is that it means you ought to think about limiting them.

Have you tried a whole week of Red days to kick start your body? Or at least 5 Reds and only 2 Green/EE. I'm a slow loser and if I do EE and eat lots of carbs and meat it really slows down my weight loss. Lots of people find Red days give them much higher losses. So long as you eat good fribrous fruit and veg I am rarely hungry. Worth a thought chica.

Well done on the bike ride - almost 80 miles is fantastic. How did the *ahem* bottom hold out? Mine always gets pretty damn sore on a bike saddle.

You mentioned Danson Park. Do you live near there? My BIL was one of the park keepers / gardeners there some years ago. Lovely place.

Morning Pinkie,

Just catching up with your diary, and was really shocked to read about your gain!

I'm sure that it is just your body playing games, and not a 'real' gain!

Hey Pomette, no worries I'm glad you both had a good time, its lovely that you've had a like minded soul visit you, I take it there were no stresses such as you've had with other visitors?

I'm not sure I could do entire red days, I like chucking lentils in things too much. But that said, last night, I roasted half a Butternut squash and served with bolognaise sauce, rather than having full on spag bol with lots of pasta. I think I def do need to cut down on the carbs (my phone tried to write carnal then - chance'd be a fine thing!). I also bought some more swede for a beef stew I'm making and will limit the potato, the parsnips are going in though. Baby steps. So thanks for that tip. Like I say, not sure I could go full red (and full green def doesn't agree with me either), but I do think I can look at the balance of free versus superfree a bit.
I had peas a couple of times last week but that was it. Like I say, I'm trying to increase the proportion of superfree anyway so hopefully that will make a positive difference! If that doesn't work I may well try some 100% red days then, see if that shakes things up a bit.

Just popping into say hi. I'm slowly one day at a time getting back on track. Hope you're having fun with beanie xxx

Hey Penny. Glad you're getting things back in track. We're supposed to be holding each other's hands on this aren't we? Sorry, I've been a bit deflated this past week so haven't been on here as I should. We had a nice week thanks, it changes though as he gets older. He's a cocky little sod at the moment and prone to teenage strops, which is tiring. He's also too like me at times, so we end up in a head to head. Mix that with tiredness and I have mixed feelings about our week off together. Something I need to sit back and take stock of I think. We had some good days out though. And the great news is.... I will have him for nearly a month solid from mid November! Three weekends in a row where he won't be seeing his Dad at all. He seems quite relaxed about it, and I'll make sure we do stuff to keep him occupied. One of the days my parents are looking after him. My Dad wants to take him to Crystal Palace v Millwall. I'm a little concerned that my Dad will lose him so we'll see if that pans out or not. But it means he still gets some blokey time, and he completely adores my Dad.

Hi Pinkie, hoping you and Beanie are well!

Hey Molly, sorry I hadn't replied to you earlier. I'll get round to your various diaries today too as I'm back working and the pc will be on. It's easier there than on this phone.

I was 'shocked' too. I feel really lumpy and blobby today too and am simultaneously talking myself out of/into going to weigh in tonight. I don't feel like I can handle another gain. If I go gain, I think I'll take a few weeks out of going to class and just try get my head together.

But, I've been very good and on plan all week. I have eaten a LOT of fruit though, maybe too much? Saturday I ended up drinking vodka but with slimline tonic all evening and had a curry (I was celebrating a 4-1 win). Other than that though, I've been bang on all week. Annoyingly, Saturday night, my ability to draw married men like a magnet surfaced again. Unwanted etc etc. But I have to question, why do no nice single men ever make a move/show an interest, yet the married ones seem to be all over me like a rash. Seriously, I had to get my mates I was with to sneak ne out the pub to shake this one off! Aaasrrgghh! Tossers. :)

Anyhoo, I've been sat in BBs with a large skinny capuccino (my HEa for the day) so had best get back to work.

I'll catch up with all your diaries throughout the day hopefully. Hope you are all well xxx

Hey!
Glad you had a nice week off, even if it was slightly different to what you've been used to. I guess it's inevitable that Beanie is going to change in his behaviour and want to become more independent. It's lovely that he still wants to spend time together but I think you have to realise that if he doesnt want to spend as much time with you, it's not personal. It is just part of him growing up and his needs changing. I'm sure he loves and cares for you no less though.

I hope you do go for WI tonight and it is a loss. You bliming well deserve to have a big loss. I like the sound of the changes you're making. I eat way too much carby stuff and do try to make an attempt to reduce it but then I get tired and it's just so easy to make a big bowl of pasta.

I'm staying vaguely on track this week. At the weekend I used a fair few syns in my meals, which I don't normally do. I usually have syns for treatsbut this weekend we made toad in the hole and chicken fajitas so the syns were needed! They were very nice though.

I better get back to work, but good luck for tonight xxx

Thank you Penny. He still wants to do stuff with me, its more just his head is more in his own little world and when I get cross as I've been ignored for the 5th time of asking he gets all mega stroppy on me. Getting ready for bed, silly things, entirely normal I'm sure, but he's getting worse as he gets older and its driving me crazy. He actually can't retain a simple instruction (when it doesn't suit him) in the time it takes to walk up the stairs.

Anyhoo, enough of that. I lost 3.5lbs tonight. Which takes me to 13st 7.5lbs. I'm very pleased with that and it means I now need to lose 8lb in 4 weeks in order to meet my birthday target. So all on plan. I think redressing the free/superfree foods is key right now, so I'll keep focussing on that.

So much for catching up with all your diaries. Maybe in the morning, I have washing up, lunches to prepare and 3 weeks of coursework to catch up on. Eek!

Well done Pinkie on the loss. You are obviously eating the right things.

How old is Beanie now? Boys can be such a pain at 10-11.

Thank you Pomette. For morale I needed that loss.

Beanie has just turned 9. It's gonna get a helluva lot worse yet. Thing is he goes from that to cuddling me and telling me he loves me blah blah. It must definitely be one of those hormone surges they get. Deep joy! The positive side is its not just me, he's the same with his Dad. So its not me being completely rubbish. Not completely anyway.

Really must crack on, these dishes won't wash themselves.... :-(

Wooh, well done on that loss - knew last week was a scales blip!!!

I know Beanie isn't a teenager yet, but I think they get stroppy younger these days!! Just been talking to bf's Mum, who reckons in the last 6 months her 13 year old has come out of the stroppy phase - I didn't want to warn her it could still get a lot worse when boys and booze are involved ;)

Hope work isn't too crazy after your mid term :)

xxx
