Jane's Diary

My plans are just the meal out really. I have family visiting late Sunday so I've got some nibbles and pizza and quiche in plus cheese and biscuits. There will also be salad and homemade coleslaw. I'm not making a proper meal as they are all coming when they feel like it. Snacks only. I'll be having a baked potato and the homemade coleslaw, probably.

We got married on the 1st July many years ago and it was a blazing hot day. So hot it was unbearable. I remember the country had a major drought that year and the next. These days the best weather always seem to be around Easter.

Xx

Of course, I was forgetting about your son arriving this weekend, I bet you can't wait to see him!

If you don't mind me asking, which year did you get married? I remember my Mum and Dad saying the year they got married it was a scorching Summer, although on the day they married it was snowing! (April)

1976. I was a hippie at heart back then. Flower power and all that. Hubby had long hair and a beard, although it was just above his shoulders when we married. He decided to conform as he realised it would make a difference to his career. We lived together for a couple of months and my mum made me pretend I was already married. It was the only way we could afford to buy a house. How times have changed

Ps I was a child bride. Lol.

Hehe Jane, you must have only just been into your teens :D Mum and Dad were 1973, and like your hubby my Dad had longish hair - apparently it was all the rage. I love hearing their stories of their first little flat which had an outside loo, oh how times have changed - thankfully!!

Yes, long hair and platforms. Bell bottoms and cheesecloth. Head band and bells. Little round dark glasses. Inserts in the sides of your jeans, maxi dresses in purple and cream lace up boots. Those were the days :)

No ready meals, well maybe vesta chicken supreme which was dried in a packet, or maybe fray bentos steak and kidney pies in a tin. We had a great time.

Xx

Hehe I think I would have enjoyed being around in the 70's, sounds like fun :D

I am trying to imagine what vesta chicken supreme would taste like!!!

I seem to recall it being very tasty :). I wonder if you can still buy it - not that I probably would. Your mum and dad will probably remember it. The 70 s was great. I had such a good time growing up. The music was great, everything was new and different. I didn't get to go to many concerts because we lived in the sticks. Telly was mainly black and White with only a few people having colour. I think we only had two channels and certainly no daytime telly. Mind you there were bad times, bread strikes and miners strikes which led to power cuts. I remember going to see the musical Hair where some of the dancers were naked. It was a shocker then. It was great music though :)

Xx

I bet the ingredients would be interesting reading!!

Imagine only having two channels today, what would we all do lol!

Lol. I'm a tv addict :). Just found a brill programme to watch called animal Hoarders on dmax. I love reality programmes like this. One bloke has loads of pit bulls and a very young child. Is he mad!

Xx

I'm the same Jane, can't get enough of reality tv :D:eek: Not heard of that one though, sounds a little mad!!

Oh my god! This woman has 80 odd cats and they poo and wee all over the house. Can you imagine the pong! Have you got sky crystal? I've set it to record the series.

Aw I love cats but 80, really?! I've got the Virgin Tivo box so I'm sure I'll have it on there, I'll need to have a look, sounds interesting!

We would have virgin if we could get it. Catch up is tons better on virgin. Sky is rubbish for that. Also you can record more on virgin.

I only changed from Sky to Virgin about 9 months ago, couldn't get it where I lived before, and I agree - it's much better than Sky. Well that's Million Pound Drop finished so I'm off to bed (oh how exciting is my Friday night lol!) so I will say goodnight and chat to you tomorrow, I'll get those pics up of my outfit. Have a lovely weekend if I don't speak to you and have a great time with your son, his girlfriend and all the family - good times! Night night xxxx

Night night, sleep tight. Xx

Good morning (afternoon)

Just had breakfast and had: porridge made with 200ml skimmed milk and water. Banana. 2 cups coffee with skimmed milk. I think I'm going to have a nibbly day so I'll just make sure it's not the wrong things but somehow an apple doesn't have the same attraction as a bar of chocolate!

Hi Jane, food looking good so far today!

Pics of my outfit for tomorrow -given up on the bag cos it's the wrong shade of pink, just going to use black

Hi crystal. Your outfit looks lovely. I love the shoes, very glam. I think a black bag will look fine. Hope the weather is good.

Son due to arrive about 3 ish, although we've had no communication of him since he arrived in the uk. His phone has been playing up so I'm not sure how to get hold of him! It's how he's lived his life for the last few years. He usually only contacts us when he wants something, although there are promising signs that he's growing up. No 1 being that he's settled down with his girlfriend. He's 28 and up until recently has lived like a teenager! Good job I love him

I've had an apple for lunch. I'm trying to cut back in readiness for the meal tonight.

I succumbed to a bag of velvet crunch. At 83 calories I'm assuming 4 syns. I've also had a highlights drink at 2 syns. Still no sign of son and heir.
