JB's Journey - will be a long one!

Dinner tonight was DH's special mince ( a few carrots and peas in it, and some bisto, so too carby really but I couldnt say no) but I had mashed neeps with mine instead of potatoes.

I am suffering after having that half a roll yesterday! Windy & uncomfortable.

Fell into a vat of carbs the last 2 days :( hopefully thats me over it, I am working hard to undo all my damage. Going to make a smoked sausage type stroganoff for lunch - yum!

Sorry to hear that, JB - I wish I knew what to say to help you :(

Can you pinpoint why you think you're struggling to adhere to the plan? Do you have particular challenges (time, other people, socialising, Xmas etc.) or is it just that your head isn't really in the game? Or would a diet that allowed more carbs be better suited to you? Marvellous as it is, the problem with Atkins is that it's not a forgiving diet when it comes to slip-ups. Each time you ingest a significant dose of carbs you'll be booted out of ketosis and have to wait a couple of days before you're back in the fat-burning zone, and that is going to get very frustrating for you. You might be better with a non-ketogenic diet if you find the carbs are tripping you up too often? (JMHO - feel free to ignore me!:))

I was out for the day, and my low carb picnic just wasnt cutting it :( We were walking round a freezing zoo, and a salad & cold meat just wasnt working, so I had a KFC. Which led to a few more carbs! I soon started feeling rotten though, and I am back full force eating LC.

Making the IPD butter chicken tonight, smells lovely! Have added mushrooms & green beans to it, and used coconut cream instead of double. Cant wait to tuck in!

That sounds lovely - and how do you make the coconut soup?

Going out is one of the hardest things to manage on low carb IMHO, and I completely get that you want something hot when you're out and about and it's cold. That's where places like Nandos are brilliant.

Will find a link to the soup I made & post it.

Food today has been okish, just a bit lacking in veg due to bad planning!

Breakfast - chocolate pancakes (eggs, creamcheese, cinnemon & a teaspoon of no sugar cocoa pwoder)

Lunch - ham slices, chicken thighs, sour cream dip

Dinner - braised cabbage & slow cooked lamb

B - bacon, fried mushrooms, mayo
s - chicken slices, sugar-free jelly
L - prawn mayo salad
D - sausages (2.3g carb per 3 sausages) & mashed neeps with butter

How do I find the recipe for the breakfast frittata muffin things, they look delish! Would be so handy to take to work ? x
