*JenJen's* Back on the wagon before I'm ofski to Australia!!!

How's it going Jen? xx

Hey everyone... I've had a really busy few days.

Well, I mentioned a few weeks ago that my OH was having problems with his ankles. He was in the Army and a few years ago upon discharge he had to have reconstructive surgery done to both of his ankles. He has been having massive problems with pain and he finally managed to get a referral back to the original surgeons. He had a CT scan done a week ago and then on Thursday he got his results. Turns out that the original surgery has failed and he needs further, more invasive surgery done. They will do one ankle at a time, take the pins that are in his ankles out, clean the joint, do a bone graft, more pins and he will be in plaster for 3 months, a moon boot for a further 3 months and then 3 months of intensive physio and then the other ankle will have the same. He won't be able to weight bare on the ankle in plaster and because he has the same condition in his other ankle that will mean that mobility will be about zero.

We know how bad the surgery is from the previous time. So its all been a bit rubbish really but all we can do is just deal with it really. Hopefully this time it will work but the surgeons did warn us that 25% of this type of surgery fails - and obviously with it failing the last time it makes it even more nerve wracking. But you just have to think its going to work.

I did get good news on the job front but I will let you all know about that soonish :D

We started to prepare for the surgery by going out shopping in the big smoke :D I decided that I needed some new trousers because I really don't have any. It was quite an achievement really because I went to Primark and I got myself some size 20 and 18 tops :D:D:D:D:D They actually look tiny - when I hold them up I think to myself, I am not this size. Went to Next and bought a pair of size 22 trousers - I actually put on a pair of size 20 trousers and they fitted!!!!! Didn't like the style of them though so I kept the 22's which, get this, HAD ROOM - they actually are a little baggy around the mid section :D:D:D:D It's the first time, ever, that I've shopped in normal shops and haven't went anywhere near Evans. Its also the first time ever that I have shopped for clothes for myself in Primark or Next (in the shop if you get my drift lol).

Even now, I still think to myself, surely I can fit in those clothes... my brain hasn't caught up with my weight loss. I'm wearing clothes that are between 4 and 5 sizes too big for me. 17 days ago at work I was wearing trousers that were size 28 (which when I got them in the Christmas sales and were really tight) and they were really baggy. I put them on yesterday and they were beyond baggy - they were obscene.

I sold all my really nice clothes on Ebay a few weeks ago. And the rest of the clothes - work clothes and things I've had for years are going to cash for clothes - 6 bags worth. I now have one rail of clothes :( I'm just buying a few things to tide me over - there isn't any point in buying lots. Hopefully I won't be an 18/20/22 for much longer :D:D:D:D:D

PS.. Nee - how the hell do you get your score so high???? xxx

Hey his first op is on 24 May. I actually think I'm a bit numb about it all. I think we both remember how awful it was the last time. We just have to get on with it I suppose.

How did your first day back on it feel?

There is some good news though. I got the job!! It's working for First choice :D I applied for the apprenticeship but was offered the travel advisor. I've chosen part time and close to home as this will help me look after OH. It's came right on time too - I travel about 2hrs now to get to work and the same back and it's full time - I couldn't have done that, looked after OH and everything else it wouldn't have worked. Xxxx

Congratulations on the job Jen, that's fantastic news. It's brilliant that you've had the confidence to apply for and get what you want to do. Great too that it will be closer to home. Sorry to hear about the difficult times you've got coming up with your OH, I do hope all works out with the surgery, it's a lot to go through, but really hope the results will be worth it and make things easier for both of you.

Exciting times too with the clothes, it's amazing to discover 'normal' shops! I hope I never step foot in Evans again! You're doing really well :D:D

When do you start the new job? I really hope all goes well as you get stuck in there xx

Fab news on the job hun, bet thats a nice worry of your mind now :D

Im kind of more trying to cut back at the min, and still so far have sts so I am pleased with that at the min...I will be kicking some weight ass as of sat-mon though woooo yeah :D

Congrats on the new job - sounds like you are staying amazingly positive and strong at the moment - brilliant!

OOoooOOhhhh... Hello everyone - how are you all doing? Well I hope.

Thanks for all the messages of support about OH, starting my new job (start on 6 June :D) and fitting into a different size clothes. You don't know how much it means to me.

The ooohh part of my message was because I just finished (pah, who am I kidding, I didn't complete it all but I gave it a good shot) at the 30 day shred. Oh word. Hard going isn't it. I feel all hot and bothered right now. Hopefully it will get easier as the days go on.

Well today I got another pair of trousers, a pair of jeans (size 20 - oh yeah - they are stretchy, not quite at the 20 size yet but getting there), few tops and a cardi - mixture of 20s and 18s - feels good :D

Just wanted to drop in, going to go and get myself something to drink after all that exercise :D xxx

Woo hoo for smaller clothes :)
I bought the 30 day shred, watched it, and it's been in the drawer since :)
I will start it, someday ;) xx

Great news on the clothes. I think it was one of the size changes I found most satisfying, when 20's started to fit properly and then I could actually start buying 18's, that first number going from a 2 to a 1 is very good :D

And I totally get where you're coming from on the 30 day shred... I've still not quite perfected a push-up that's worthy of the name. But each time I do it, bits of it do get a bit easier... I'm still on level 1 though!

Hope all goes well as you prepare for the new job, it's very exciting :)

Morning Jen, Just seen that pic on FB you look amazing :D

Well done, and keep it up xxx

ps...im bck on it today xx

Doing ok so far, scales not budging yet! But Im sure they will when there ready :)

How are you sweets?

xx

Hey - glad you are doing good, the scales will start moving soon hun, its frustrating when you want them to start heading downwards and they stick at the same spot. But you will have a swoosh of weight loss soon.

Well today is WI day and I've lost 6lbs and I can actually see my first goal. When I set it back in February it felt like it was unachievable. But I've got 16lbs to go until I do achieve it. 3 more lbs to go and I will be saying bye bye to the 18s (I was ever so chuffed to be saying hello to the 18s in the first place lol).

The 30 day shred is quite difficult eh - I was that sore that I haven't done it since that Sunday. I can still feel it just now lol. I need to get back at it though. Eventually lol.

Oh ketosis is making me very very cold just now... My hands are freezing as I type this. At night I go to bed with my big fleecy housecoat, a pair of socks, nightdress and joggy bottoms lol. My OH thinks I'm mad - before doing this diet I would be too hot in bed and the house was always hot to me. Now I'm forever complaining about it being cold. And the house is never warm enough lol.

Its not a complaint though because as long as the weight is coming off I'm not really bothered about my temperature to be honest. :D:D:D:D

Woo hoo....6lbs JenJen- that's fantastic news- well done indeed missy. I am inspired by anyone who even attempts the 30 day shred let alone completes it. My god woman!!!! Well done. Smaller clothes are amazing too- they'll be hanging off you in no time babe xxx

Oh thanks LadyG :D I hope you are well.

I'm totally going to give the 30 day shred a good old bash because I think that I will totally see the benefit. Its just blooming well hard going lol.

Wow you are brave. Just the thought of that wench shouting at me in the comforts of my own home makes me wanna hurl! Think I'm gonna invest in some zumba ones instead. Let us know how you get on with it- people on here have had fab results with it xx

I will do - if I can use my aching fingers lol.

I picked up the Zumba for the WII at the weekend and then put it down - totally regretting it though - wish I had bought it :D xx

Woo hoo Jen that's a bloody great loss :) xxx

Thanks Clair :D I'm hoping for a 3lb loss next week to take me to the next stone bracket.

How are you doing? Xx
