Jess's Diary - Weighed in a day early..

Awww so sorry to hear about you purse my love but glad to hear you are feeling better. I hope tomorrow is a better day. xxx

Oh hun I am so sorry, why can't people be honest and hand in purses when they find them - Ive found a few and always handed them into the local police station!

Thanks again all :) /grouphug

I haven't tried the police station.. I might do that actually but it's unlikely as the obvious thing to do would be to hand it in at the service station. I'm sure most people there aren't going to Warwick and are just passing through like we were, so the probability of someone actually handing it in to them is probably low.

Wow Claire, that is really low! Picking up a purse lying around is one thing but taking out of someone's bag is another. Did you get the purse back without the money or never see it again? I'd like to think I'd hand in a purse money and all.. actually I'm pretty sure I would. When I found all that woman's stuff I was very tempted to steal her stamps as a little reward for returning it all to her, but I felt too bad so doubt I could take money! Maybe if there was £100s I'd take a twenty, haha ;)

Hey Jess, sorry to hear about your purse - there are some rotten people about aren't there? Well done on getting back to WW though.

Do you go to Brighton often? My son moved there three months ago - he's assistant manager at Po Na Na. We're going to Brighton at Christmas to spend a few days with him.

Nope never saw the purse again! It wasn't even cash. They cleared my account as it was the days before chip and pin so they switched there way through my overdraft (didn't feel too bad as it was the banks money) in 24 hours by the time I realised my purse was gone which was lunch time the next day . They actually stole it out my bag as I walked out the shop, like an proper pick pocket and used it 20 mins later in the same shop I'd just been in! The funniest thing was when I went to the bank with police all the transactions were for Iceland, Farmfoods, Sainsburys, Tesco etc etc their cupboards must have been full to bursting with food and drink!

xx

Whoop, one site that's not blocked at college.. hooray.

Worst week ever. Well not really, that's me being over dramatic, but it's one thing after another! @*%$!1£.

Adam's car needed an MOT but he knew the brakes were dodge so took them into Kwik Fit as he has a guarentee for front brake discs (which were fine ). Two back tyres needed replacing (like £150 each!!) as well as back brake pads and discs. That was a nice £455. Today he took it in for the MOT and service (not had it serviced since he got it I think) and lo and f***king behold the cambelt needs replacing at 80000 miles.. it's done 83k. It's not an MOT fail but if it snaps it usually means an engine replace (v.v.pricey). Yay, another £300. Windscreen wipers weren't working, the wire had come loose in the fuse box and was sparking, needed to replace the fuse box or something.. £100. The MOTHER FLIPPING car is 3 and half years old, do they make them with bloody plastecine? So that was £700 altogether. £1150 on a BLEEPING CAR in TWO DAYS. I swear if it did not just cost so damn much to fix I would kick the thing. What is wrong with a cheap friggin car with cheap wheels and cheap cambelts and cheap bloody everything. He wants an aldi next, well he will be paying for absolutely everything with his own money.. fuel, repairs etc. When I'm working full time we should have about £500 a month each spare (depending on my wage and travel costs, etc) and I think a fancy car is an enormous waste of money. Not only will he probably be paying £200-300 a month just for the car, there will be massive payouts like that all the time and fuel will get eaten up like food around me :p No siree, it's holidays and pampering for me.

So swine flu, followed by losing my purse, followed by £1150 on a car. I could just puke, I'm so sick of things costing money. Plus I bought 2 lunches yesterday before coming to college and gave the other one for Adam to put in the fridge at work but he left it in the car. It went bad, I brought money and there was nothing healthy. With my terrible mood I was in f-it mode and had pastry, crisps, chocolate and lucozade :(

Swine flu put me behind on my uni work so I had to work 'til 2am last night to have a first draft of an assignment due in next week or I'd leave it too late and it would be crap. 5 hours sleep makes for a grumpy Jess so I apologise for my mega rant :p

Edit: lol, just realised I called it an aldi.. I mean audi, obviously :D

Ouch! This is why I love London, it has awesome public transport :D tube ftw!

I don't get fancy cars either. Though I promised Jon that if I'm rich when I'm older then I'll get him an Aston Martin for his birthday hahahah. Not likely! I want a ford puma because they're pretty, but they don't do them any more so the old ones are probably pretty unsafe :( shame.

OMG over a grand on a car that young!! Thats scandalous no wonder you are fuming I would be too hun. I thank my lucky starts my car is as old and my grandad!! Well its a P reg, and Ive had it nearly 4 years and apart from MOT and a yearly service its cost me no more than £400 in other repairs and bits and pieces in that 4 year period - I am so lucky with it, its a great car!! Well they say that bad luck comes in 3's so thats you done and dusted now hun x

Was just about to say the same lyd that bad luck comes in 3s but bf forgetting the dinner in the car makes 4 so jess i think you have had your fair share for a long while xx

Hopefully! :) Thanks Saskipoos.

Jees hun you're really having a time of it. I do wonder about cars these days, I think they are held together with rubber bands!

I really hope your day/week gets better for you hun

xx

Thanks :) I don't see why they don't use camchains on all cars, last loads longer! Just trying to squeeze extra money where they can.

hope things pick up soon chic x

Thanks :)

I like Peugeot 207 ccs.. you can get them second hand for about £8000; that'll do me very nicely! Adam's actually come to the realisation that he probably won't own an Audi. His boss has one and just got his main service done... £4000! I think he's looking at the very top Astra (which he has now, obviously not the top one though :p)

London transport is a rip off! I do love that it goes everywhere, but it the tube shuts too early and it's too expensive! I love living close to London but not in it. When I move to Sussex I'll be max 40 mins out by train.. yay :) I was 19 minutes out in Woking, and about 30 minutes now but the further out you go the nicer and cheaper it is.

I just sold my P reg car for £500. It still had life left in it!

The lunch isn't bad luck  It's just typical. He's actually useless. "Have you booked your holidays yet?" "No" "Have you booked the carpet cleaner for this weekend?" "No, I forgot." He's a bit rubbish, but I quite like him :)

The tube depends though, cause if you're on a night out then you can get the first one home :p and meh, £1.60 was a single from my home to Hull, so not that expensive really, and lots nicer than buses, and buses are only £1 if you decide to get one :p I quite like it anyway. I like living in London. :)

That certainly counts as one of the worst weeks ever....poor you.

I hate it when unexpected costs hit you - you just can't budget for cars sometimes.

Glad you are over your flu though. xx

Hoping all that bad luck has passed you by now jess for some time to come and things start to look up as you deserve them too.

I had a really good day at the good food show :) I didn't nibble as much as I thought I would and my lunch was ickle but I bought some naughty foods which I need to get out the way today ;) I bought a slab of the best fudge I've ever had. Big up to Fudge Flavours to Buy Online from Jim Garrahy's Fudge Kitchen. It had a slight crunch on the outside and melted in the middle.. amazing! I also bought a slab of chocolate, some yumberry juice made from a special Chinese fruit, green tea and some cheese. Adam bought some pickled onions by Barry Norman and signed by him. We have no idea who he is but Adam shook his hand :p Plus some red pepper meze and a lot of olives. However I'm going to complain about the James Martin demonstration. He was really entertaining and it was good but we paid £6 each to see it. We were the 2nd to last row despite booking ages ago and a couple of metres behind us were people standing watching it for free! They could see and hear exactly what we could, probably more as they were standing. Plus the recipes for the food he made were in the guide that everyone at the show got so what the hell did we pay £12 for?! I want my money back! Also wasn't overly impressed with the dining thingy.. we couldn't get a table so had to eat standing up plus the food was nice, but nothing special. Adam had Hereford beef and mashed neeps from the Ivy and I had buttersquash risotto from another restaurant in that chain (mine was better ;)) but if I ate it for real and paid the prices I'd be pissed. Anyway, despite my moaning I had a good time and would definately go next year.

Weight wise I STS! Well technically I lost 0.5lb because I was 13.05 but I'm sticking with 13 stone. I'm not really surprised.. my stressy binge on Thursday, I've accidently been drinking non zero fanta all week and when I went home last weekend I ate out a couple of times and think I was a bit generous with my pointamation. Apart from today, which I'm going to finish with style with a Chinese I'm going to be very good this week. Aiming for the big "first" loss ;) I read an article in a book called "Kluge" that says we never evolved to be concerned about money but food.. studies have shown people who need money confuse their brains and eat more! See, not my fault after all, hehe.
