JessyG's food diary - positive and determined to shift the bulge

Tuesday 4th Feb 14

Non food related today is quite a big day for me. Firstly, and I'm a bit emotional because of it, my grandad (my soulmate and the most amazing man) passed away 3 years today. Secondly I have a baby sister coming by c-section today! (My parents are divorced and this is my dads second child with his partner). Very weird as I've been an only child for 21 years and then 2 siblings in the space of 4 :)

Eats:
B: Museli, unsweetened almond milk, banana
L: Chilli with loads of SF in
S: A few almonds and some raisins. Nakd bar.
D: Homemade burgers :) sat on portabello mushrooms rather than bread, with sweet potato wedges and some corn

Also got weigh in at the gym (sneaky peak and I was 10st 6lbs this morning! So who knows what I'll weigh tonight! Haha) and doing a quick half hour interval training session after with the boy

Happy Tuesday everyone - nearly hump day

xxxx

Wow Jessy - what an emotional rollercoaster for you today. It's great that you can look back on so many amazing memories of your grandfather, as Sarah said, I'm sure he would be very proud of you :)

ANDDD CONGRATULATIONS (almost) on the new family member!! How exciting! Do they live near you? Will you get a chance to visit the new bambino? I LOVE the smell of new babies!

Good luck with WI and thanks for the inspiration with the portobello burgers! I was planning of having some Sw burgers tomorrow or Thurs so might have to pick some of these up to tie in with my red days :) xxx

Hey sweetie. I'm sure your grandad is looking down on you today and everyday. I'm sure he'll be making sure your little sister arrives safely today aswell. That's so amazing. It's crazy having siblings so much younger, feel almost like an aunt! 19 years between me and my youngest sister because my dad had her after my parents divorced. I wouldn't change it for the world though! Let us know how everything goes xxx

So sorry to hear about your Grandad. In March it will be 3 years since mine dies too and it still hurts as much as it did then. It will be nice to have a new little one today though. I like to think it as a one in one out system (without meaning to sound completely insensitive! It does kind of help me a bit though). I hope it all goes well xx

Hey lovely,

It always amazes me how the world works. It's a sad day thinking about your Grandad but such a happy one with the arrival of your baby sister. I hope your Grandad is making the sun shine where you are and I'm sure he is looking down being incredibly proud of you.

xx

p.s. your dinner sounds amazing!!

Thank you darling girl. As I read your msg the sun was beaming through the window. :')

I hope it is nice! hehe xxxx

I hope he is. All I ever want is to make him proud of me.

Nope they live in Newcastle but we head up each month. Unfortunately wont get to meet her for just under a month but she will still be tiny :D

You're welcome :) I don't think burgers are the same unless thy are in something. So going to melt some cheese on top of one too!

xxxx.

My grandma feels the same, it's cheered her up that my sister is arriving today of all days! And yes it does hurt just as much doesn't it. Better than any suffering though I'm sure. Thanks lovely girl xxxx

Hello gorgeous,
I hope you're getting through the day and reminiscing on all the good happy grandad filled times and not getting too sad.
It is very ironic with the arrival of your little sis! It is a responsibility indeed! I am very protective over mine despite her only being 2 years younger than me! How cute that she will grow up with a lovely big sister to take her under her wing! :) sending lots of love xxx

Hi sweetheart, i'm doing okay ty especially as work is busy!

I think with the age gap I will probably be the one that she comes to for advice which is lovely :) and aw I bet that you're protective!

Lots of love sending your way too xxxx

Thanks lovely lady :) xxxx we drank that in about half an hour! :/

I'm so glad I've found someone who still has a drink and is on SW.

Hi Jennie :)

Haha yes I definitely do have a drink. And so do the lovely ladies who write on my page ;)

How are you finding it so far?

xxxx.

So far I've stuck to it, and as its my first week I have stayed away from the wine. Not sure I've had enough of my syns each day. Do people save their syns for the weekend?? I know when I go out I'll want a good few drinks and probably more than 15 syns worth!!!

Haahahahahahahaha! This just made me lol at work! xxx

Ha, I'm guessing you are one of these ladies too?
I'm liking having a few people to refer to for when the going gets tough.

Well done you. Different approaches work better for different people but I personally save my syns for the weekend! It can be hard to not go overboard doing that though xx.

I am indeed Jennie, although I've been on my best behaviour since just before Christmas because I wasn't very well :)

I think when you're young you'd feel abnormal and struggle socially if you were used to drinking then cut it out completely to lose weight - you still need to enjoy your life!

I started off at a similar weight to you last year and I've only lost about a stone and a half (I say only but it's still a lot when you're tiny like us!) but I could have lost a lot more, a lot quicker if I'd stuck 100% to plan or not saved syns for alcohol/treats etc. But honestly, it wouldn't have been a sustainable lifestyle for me as I enjoy a drink and that is how I socialise a lot with friends/family/dates etc. I might have taken longer (and probably still will) but it was important for me to stay "normal" so I could adopt a healthier lifestyle overall and not just turn to old habits once the weight was off.

I do find though when I drink my syns and then spend the rest of the time trying to counteract it or make up for it, that I don't always have a loss! I try to filter in some non-booze weekends or weekends where I drink but I stick to my daily syns to do so to ensure that the weight does still move in the right direction! xx

(Sorry for boycotting your thread Jessy!)
