JessyG's food diary - positive and determined to shift the bulge

I am indeed Jennie, although I've been on my best behaviour since just before Christmas because I wasn't very well :)

I think when you're young you'd feel abnormal and struggle socially if you were used to drinking then cut it out completely to lose weight - you still need to enjoy your life!

I started off at a similar weight to you last year and I've only lost about a stone and a half (I say only but it's still a lot when you're tiny like us!) but I could have lost a lot more, a lot quicker if I'd stuck 100% to plan or not saved syns for alcohol/treats etc. But honestly, it wouldn't have been a sustainable lifestyle for me as I enjoy a drink and that is how I socialise a lot with friends/family/dates etc. I might have taken longer (and probably still will) but it was important for me to stay "normal" so I could adopt a healthier lifestyle overall and not just turn to old habits once the weight was off.

I do find though when I drink my syns and then spend the rest of the time trying to counteract it or make up for it, that I don't always have a loss! I try to filter in some non-booze weekends or weekends where I drink but I stick to my daily syns to do so to ensure that the weight does still move in the right direction! xx

(Sorry for boycotting your thread Jessy!)

Fab! Nice to see a few friendly faces! I'll let you know how weigh-in goes tonight.

Lol that's okay Lil. You give such good advice it's nice to have it on my page :p xx.

Update on eats yesterday: I had 2 naughty chocs (6 syns) as I ate lunch late so felt a bit dizzy. When I was at the gym last night it took me 7 mins on the treadmill to burn them off - NOT worth the 2 chocs haha. So got to think of that when I next get tempted. The only chocolate worth that would be a wisps gold/Cadbury caramel dipped in a cuppa *drools*. ANYWAY

I also had a banana and walnut healthy homemade muffin which, um, didn't rise and stayed soft (too much banana) so was more like a spoon of mushy banana haha. Never mind :')

Gym was good. I've set myself a little timetable after going to that exercising effectively session to work different body parts. So yesterday was legs bum and tum - 10 min warmup on cross trainer, 3 sets of 10 reps of: Kettlebell swing, Squats, Burpees, Plank, TRX machine pull ins, stepper, lunges, and stomach sit-up and twist with weights. 10 mins cardio on treadmill. Then 10 min cool down on stepper machine.

xxxx

Loving the gym timetable x

I actually cannot believe it! I lost 3.5lbs :D Now 10st 7.8 on her scales! I'm convinced it was the floor but not everyone got big losses so probably wasn't. And James lost 2lbs!!!! :D super chuffed and so was nutritionist

Gym tonight was Tabatta training: 5 mins warm up on treadmill, then 20 seconds full effort 10 secs slow (x8) on rowing machine (only managed 5), bike, and cross trainer. Cool down 5 mins stepper and stretches. Doesn't sound much but you really work yourself and I am knackered

Just had tea was delicious

Update on the little sis: didn't come today as too many emergencies, but hopefully tomorrow! Come on Lucy I want to meet you!

Morning lovely ladies! Happy hump day!

Thanks for all your kind messages yesterday I had a conversation with my grandma last night and she was happy as she had received lots of lovely messages about my grandad too :)

Lets hope little Lucy gets her bum here! I really want to know that she is here and healthy!

Eats for Wednesday 5th Feb

B: Museli and unsweetened almond milk, banana, sweetclem
L: Chilli
S: Almonds, raisins, sweetclem, nakd bar
D: Something with chicken! Either chicken pizza (base made from ground almonds effectively) or just something simple!

Either gym or seeing James' mum tonight. If I do gym then it's arms night tonight :).

xxxx Getting closer to the weekend!

Aww glad your grandma was ok too! He was obviously a very lovely and very loved man! :)
Fingers crossed Lucy arrives today! It's Tasha's cute little pup that's called Lucy too!

Food sounds delish (as always!) very intrigued to hear more about the almond based pizza! Will have to eat through you today as I'm on a fast! :)
Happy hump gorgeous! Xxx

I'm the second wife, and our daughter was born when her half-sister was 21! I had an elective c-section too, and couldn't sleep the night before for excitement. I spent the night talking (in my mind, of course because I was in hospital) to my 'bump' because I'd loved being pregnant and as I didn't know whether I was having a girl or a boy, I was telling 'it' how I was looking forward to meeting it and would love it whatever it was! I would have been devastated if my c-section had been postponed, so I hope the prospective mum is OK.

A pizza based on ground almonds - sounds intriguing!

(And so sorry about your grandpa, but treasure the memories - they are so precious).

Haha of course I knew that as well! I got confused thinking about sisters! :)

I'm intrigued about it too - not sure if I can be bothered faffing about making it tonight after the gym but I bet it would be worth it

I think because I don't live with them I will always feel more aunty than sister but that might change as they grow up from being tots ;) My little brother was born when I was 21 :)

I think it was all a bit stressful for them yesterday but my dad has just let me know that they are now booked in for tomorrow! He will be upset if that doesn't happen!

Thank you, and I always will. He was the most wonderful man and I have so many stories about him to share with my little siblings <3

xxxx.

Whats almond milk like? Is it a healthy extra?

Yep I think so and you can have loads. It's not particularly nice though haha. I literally put a tbsp of it on my museli to make it soft. I always have normal milk with my tea etc xxxx Always worth trying!

Yes, might give it a go. I'm not overly keen on milk anyway. And on my bran flakes this morning, i really didn't appreciate my skimmed milk.
I think maybe I'll start trying to have milky coffees or something to get through my milk as I don't eat cheese either. So the healthy extra A is pretty difficult for me!!
