JOEYJOJO'S PREGNANCY DIARY

23 weeks

Been shopping this morning. Took a coat back to New Look that didnt look right, got baby some random bits (clothes, mits, booties, blankets etc), then went to Mothercare and got fitted for my maternity bra(s) and bought a crib kit thing :p Woop woop

Im nervous this week...I just want to get to 24 weeks and then i'll be happier I think.....its so close....

Sounds just like I was. It'll be here before you know it :)

I think being stuck at home, not well and not able to do much doesn't help. When I was off time dragged, but now I'm back at work it seems to be going so fast. I really dont envy you still being off it :( But then once bubs is here being at home all day will go fast because I don't want it to. Can't win lol.

Ha funny you are all so excited for Christmas this year because you'll be nearly there....on Christmas day this year I'll be the mother of 3 kids!!!! Hard to wrap the head around it really and time is flying!

We'll count down to bonfire night for you then ;) When are you due again?

That sounds like a lovely christmas! :D xx

I kind of want time to fly...because I want cuddles with my baby and I want to sniff her, and kiss her and gently squeeze her little bum! :D but I want to enjoy every day while she's growing in my tum and kicking about :) xx

Due the 20th December but only expected to make it to around 36 weeks if I'm lucky eeeekkk

So end of November ish? Wow, that's only 8-9 weeks away. Ill be finishing work then and hopefully getting about 7 weeks of relaxing (or cleaning!!) :)

Yip round about 9 weeks eeeekkkk, its mad. I've my second growth scan this week. Fingers crossed baby is growing a little better.

You did right taking as much time off before as possible. With my daughter I was gonna take 2 weeks, I had her 4 weeks early so no time at all to myself lol.

Hi hun,

Hope you are well :) :D xx

23+3

Hey PP - all good thanks apart from never seeing hubby anymore because of GTA!! haha

Just wishing this week away in all honesty lol Just want it to be Monday so Im 24 weeks gone :p

Not too much to report...all boring my end apart from the usual stretching-type stuff going on!! Only thing I cant decide at the moment (same as the whole pregnancy) is whether to get the flu/whooping cough jabs. ARGH

Hi everyone,

Just read in one of my lady magazines about a woman who was carrying something called "B-Strep" and she didnt have a clue. As a result - her baby contracted both meningitis and septicaemia coming out of the birth canal.

Apparently there is a test the NHS can do if you ask them to check if you are B-Strep positive. Its something that women wont really know they have as theres no symptoms but it can affect your baby.

If you are found to be B-Strep positive they can give your baby antibiotics immediately after birth to stop them contracting anything.

Anyways - this is the first Ive heard of this and I dont know if they routinely check for this or whether you have to ask etc...so im gunna ask my midwife when I next see her and thought you may all want to be aware too :)

Just another thing to worry about eh! Haha

Anyways - night all

I know someone who had that and her 1 day old twins both ended up with cerebral palsy as a result of contracting meningitis. They don't routinely test on the NHS but you can get kits online. The only thing is you may test negative now and think you're ok but then get it later on. I'm just trying my best not to think about it. A lot of babies that do get it are fine but that's about as much as I know about it. It's a scary world when you're pregnant!!

i think i'll ask midwife about it next week i reckon. I had read that its why they do the test later on in pregnancy.

It is most definitely a scary world when you're pregnant... most of the time i try not to think about the negative things and what can go wrong but sometimes it cant be helped i guess

Ooh....im on my 3 hour countdown to midnight and 24 weeks :p

Stupid really but it feels like a big milestone and baby stands half a chance if he comes early
