JOEYJOJO'S PREGNANCY DIARY

Im ok today thanks :) Yeah, I had my hospital bag done and ready when I hit 30 weeks ish. It was one of those things I had been avoiding like the plague because I knew it was gunna be a nightmare to sort.....but I was really happy once it was sorted lol I looked at different hospital bag lists on loads of different websites to make sure I didn't forget anything xxx

I rechecked all mine yesterday and packed a third bag with extra undies, maternity pads etc for just in case. And I made sure all baby's clothes are in drawers in size order so if Tom needs to bring any it's easy for him. I even sorted my own drawers and wardrobe out so, if I need extra clothes, he doesn't end up bringing me something a few sizes too small!!!xx

lol I refuse to go through the hassle of re-checking mine haha.

I was really thorough when I packed my bag....and I told myself that once it was zipped up that's it unless I need to open it to add something else :p

There's so many lists with so many different things on that it confuses the hell outta me.. So.. I've printed 1 off with essentials.. and I'm going with that.. And then i'll add things that I've heard to be good to have or my personal bits...
I emailed it to myself and copied Jonathan (duno why.. habit I guess lol) and he asked "why have you to bring disposable pants to the hospital?? Who are they for?? Surely baby will just wear nappies"
Got to love him for the laughs he provides if nothing else... :D

I love the "once it was zipped up that's it" followed by " unless I need to open it to add something else"

That was my theory. But I did most of mine before I was diagnosed with diabetes and was expecting an in and out kind of hospital visit (ever the optimist!). But my midwife told me to prepare to be in for longer as they need to monitor me more in labour and they have to check both mine and baby's blood sugars regularly afterwards. So yesterday I added extra pj's. And we need to get some more snacky type food for Tom (and me!). But once we've put them in it's definitely zipped closed!!! X

Re: hospital bag - take as much as you can! Even if you have no complications with your pregnancy if you end up with a section or something you could find you need a lot of extra stuff. For example, I ran out if babygros first day as a) he didn't fit into half the stuff I took (honestly, the 0-3 stuff is massive and Seth's not a tiny baby) and b) he spent his first day spitting up mucus almost constantly which is common with section babies so we got through lots of clothes. Also maternity pads - I got through a pack before labour was even finished with my waters going quite early and had to send Colin for more! And if you're likely to be induced take loads of snacks, they don't let you eat once the drip is in so eat all of the snacks beforehand if you can. I was lucky that midwife on was lovely and snagged me a last minute sandwich before the drip was started! ;)

This made me giggle! I sorted baby's clothes into draws by size order too and Colin still brought the wrong size stuff in. I distinctly recall asking for 'newborn and first size gros, from the top draw'. What I got was 0-3 from the middle draw... ;)

So I just had hubby check my heartrate when he got home from work and its still 100+ (normal is 60-80) so Im not sure how my appointment tomorrow is going to go/whether they will be concerned about it

On the upside.....I took a leaf from Sarah's book and had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows :D

I saw a midwife program once and a girl had a high heart rate. They just kept her in for a couple of days to relax and be monitored properly then induced her on her due date. Not wanting to scare you with the staying in hospital bit but it's worth maybe having it in mind, just in case you have to? Really hope that they don't need to though and everything is fine :)

Hot choc looks amazing. Might get Tom to make me one after my bath!!

Hope you and baby boy are doing ok, apart from the obvious xxx

That's how I've done my drawers too. Top is newborn with baby gro's on the right, sleep suits on the left and hats and socks in the middle. Middle drawer is same but 0-3 and bottom drawer is anything from 3-6 upwards as I dont have many of those. Colin was probably just so excited to be a Daddy that he got all confused. X
