Jonsgirl's Atkins daily blah blah

Why don't you still do the same thing but in miniatures x or mini designs on cupcakes instead x same theme but better than the other mums ;p

I could i guess but I just feel a bit meh about it now - this always happens to me when my plans are spoiled.

I was so excited about making him his cake now I just feel like my thunder has been stolen :-(

Don't feel bad JG, they all go through phases of the same cakes1 If I had a pound for every tinkerbell cake I've eaten in the last 10 years I'd be a rich woman. Don't be cross with OH, they're totally clueless when it comes to this sort of thing, and he probably thought he was genuinely helping!

Hi JG,

I doubt that he will notice - what he will be excited is YOU making his cake. It's not copying - it's improving on someone else and doing it with love because you care. Nothing beats a mummy cake;)

Xx

Hi all, hope you all had lovely weekends!

i had a bit of a "meh" morning yesterday and didn't move far from the sofa. Bought some new skirting boards last week for my bedroom to fill the big gaps where the previous owners had ripped the old ones off the walls but when I went to fit them yesterday they are the wrong ones and have to go back - grrrrr!

i now have to order some custom made ones off the Internet as, because its a Victorian house all of the skirting boards are very deep and ornate and they don't make ones like that any more so I can't get any to match. Not only is this going to cost mega bucks but it means I can't proceed any further as I can't finish the wallpapering or put the new bed together until the skirting is in place so like I said - MEH!!!

decided to give the decorating a miss and spend the day browsing holidays instead to cheer me up - thrilled to say that we are now going to disneyworld Florida!!!!! We went in May this year and had such an amazing time we said we'd really like to go back asap. We've been umming and ahhing about booking for ages as obviously we're going for IVF and didn't know what stage we would be at but we decided that we've still got to live our lives in the meantime so we took the plunge and booked it for october next year! We can change our dates with no penalty until 8 weeks before so if by some miracle we are pregnant by then and cant fly we can just postpone for a few months. It seems like a very long time to wait but it gives me something to look forward to and I'm so excited.

had another NSV today too, had to go out to see clients this morning and found out when i was getting dressed that hubby had washed all of my work trousers but not put any of them in the tumble drier - grrrr! All of my other trousers are packed away because i'm decorating my bedroom so the only pair of suitable trousers I had in my drawer were a pair of size 14's that I had tried on two weeks ago and been unable to even get past the tops of my thighs. Having no alternative I thought I'd best try them on just in case, not expecting much, but they went up and fastened easily and were even quite loose a the waist - yay!!

Appetite is still very poor - I did eat properly over the weekend but felt unpleasantly full and like i was forcing it down so today I think I will go back to eating when I'm hungry.

B: black coffee with one sweetner.
l: two slices of turkey breast with mayo.
d: koftes with garlic mayo, salad and egg wraps, stuffed mushroom.

hope you're all getting on ok ladies xx

Oooh that's sooo annoying re the skirting boards JG, but better to make a good job of it now, and there'll be no messing about afterwards fixing things!

As I've said on Kimmi's thread, I'm the world's biggest Florida fan - well into double figures for trips there, and I so envy you your holiday next year, even though I can't imagine booking ANY holiday that far in advance - talk about organisation! :)

Lol yeah waterworks I could probably bodge it but I'm too much of a perfectionist so it would annoy me and I'd end up ripping it all off again.

you lucky thing going to Florida all those times - we absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back - the time is going to drag So much now weve booked. We're staying on site this time so booked early because hubby wanted to try the free dining etc plus I needed to do it before I changed my mind about where to stay and when to go - again!!! Xx

Wow JG, your handy doing the re-upholstery and and now the skirting boards well done! Trip sounds fab, I'm from American and never been to Florida, maybe someday I'll retire there lol.

Lol I have to be cos hubby is useless bless him - cant even change a plug!!

I love doing anything practical and i'll have a go at most things. (So much to do in this house and wont pay someone else to do anything i can reasonably manage myself )

I've just finished painting a mural in little ones bedroom and then I shall be attempting to do some re plastering in the spare room lol xx

Wow JG, really impressed with your practical skills. Luckily hubby does most for me (although i can change a plug). What he is hopeless at is sewing - my strength is i can sew buttons on! See i am good for something;)

Tired.com today and don't know why as I stayed in bed until 9am - oh the joys of working from home and not having to be anywhere - what a lazy cow I am lol

been sat at my desk for 6 hours straight and not really achieved anything as I needed to talk to several different departments at the council and surprise surprise their computer system was down. Rang them four times and each time they had me on hold for half an hour while they fiddled with it and then told me it was still down and I'd need to ring back later - grrrrr!!

Not looking forward to tomorrow as I have to go to manchester for a meeting which means several things -

1. I have to get up at 5.30am to catch my train :-(
2. Lunch will be carby crap like sandwiches and cake - again :-(
3. It will be an extremely long day - will be lucky if I get home much before 9pm.
4. I will have to resist the temptation of the lovely m and s simply food at Piccadilly station.

i really don't want to go but can't get out of it so will have to grin and bear it. Need to make sure I'm prepared foodwise and will be taking a box full of meat in my bag- although I will need to buy some heavy duty caffeine from the costa coffee at the station. Otherwise I am likely to fall asleep on the train and certain to embarrass myself by snoring loudly or worse still dribbling on the suit of whichever horrified guy is unlucky enough to be sat next to me.

Hope trip tomorrow is ok.

My trick when i have taken low carb wraps is to get plate like everyone else but then put my food on it. Half people dont notice:)
Re m&s some good choices in the antipasto part - bits of chicken, calamari, prawns etc olives and manchego - definitely my favourite back up meal choice:D
Xx

Thanks lol

luckily my stepdad used to be in the building trade so he can do any of the stuff I won't attempt like major electrics but most other things I will try to do myself because he's in poor health and don't like bothering him ( or too bloody independent to ask for help as he says lol)

Poor hubby can't even sew a button on either so there really is no hope for him at all lol ;-)

LOL yep been there done that! :D I usually do the head nodding thing and wake myself up with a loud snort...always classy me :)

i agree with everyone else re the cake, your son will love you so much for making a mummy cake - I have really warm memories of a birthday cake Mum made, which was a record player (oh how that ages me!, with licorice for the deck - it was fab, I loved it! :)

Where did you get your low carb wraps from Katie? they are out of stock every time I look on low carb megastore.

will be taking some cooked chicken, some smoked sausage and an oopsie turkey mayo sandwich. Along with a pot of sf jelly and a can of cherry coke zero should be enough to keep me going til I get home xx

That food sounds fab for a day away JG, even though it is a very very long day. Hope it all goes well.

Another public snorer here - I do it all the time on planes - as soon as I click my seatbelt I'm nodding, LOL!

There's a place you can put your email in to be notified when they're back in stock. I use this all the time. x

Thanks I've done that - waiting for about 50 things to come back in stock lol x

Happy Friday everyone!!!

I'm so glad weekend is here - I'm shattered!!

still not recovered from Wednesday when I was up at 5.30am and didn't get home until after 8pm. Had an absolute disaster as I forgot to take my pack up and didn't remember until I was at the train station. Tried to be good but there was no way I could go without food for all that time - lunch was provided which was sandwiches, wraps, drumsticks, pizza, potato wedges and potato salad oh and cake - lots of cake of every possible description - wonderful :-(

I really didnt want to eat any of that so i tried to do the best I could and nibbled on a bit of a drumstick ( I dont like eating meat on the bone so that was difficult) and picked the middles out of some sandwiches but I was starving. After all that I still have a feeling that even though I was very careful I still ate some hidden carbs (maybe the marinade on the drumstick) because later that night I felt bloaty and heavy which only generally happens when I eat carbs - grrrrrrr why does everything have to contain crappy carbs!!! Since then I've been really hungry - so hungry I could eat my own head but I've been sticking to clean and green and chugging water trying to flsh out the nastiness.

not really looking forward to weigh in tomorrow as I'm not expecting a good result because of this - meh!

Went shopping tonight and found some lovely looking venison steaks - checked the label and it said ingredients included wheat flour and caster sugar - what the hell??? Why can't they just leave food alone - it makes me really angry when they add unnecessary things to foods which should be legal!

Going to try out my new local Aldi tomorrow to see if some low carb goodies will improve my mood. Although we will be spending the evening at hull fair which is a huge travelling fair that comes every year. Jacob will love it but it means I'll have to run the gauntlet of hamburgers, hot dogs and donuts :-(

god I sound like a right misery tonight dont I?
