Kat1e's Diary - 7 years low carb - still learning!

Ooh what do you get up to on the course?

ooh Katie, didn't know what this was about but after googling it sounds really interesting. Just went onto Amazon and sent 3 books on mindfulness to my son in the US. Think he's struggling with life decisions atm (what to study, where to live, what to do etc) and think this concept will do him a world of good. X

Hi val - hope he finds it interesting:)
Vicky - it's a daily meditation practice but then helps you to be more calm and present the whole time. The course is just getting to practice with others and experienced teacher - also he holds us to daily practice which is helping me to remember to do it as he checks in each week!

This end - I'm overcommitted and doing too much. But planning to get dancing at lunch today and sticking with my meditation to try keep stress levels down

Food yummy as always although a few days of wraps coming which are never as tasty/satisfying to my mind
X

Wow the meditation sounds really interesting and it's great that you're noticing real benefits like better sleep already.

I have tried meditating before but can only concentrate for about 30 seconds before my flibbertigibbet mind flits off in another direction :D

I have trouble switching my mind off too but I have been practicing concentrating on the inside of my eyelids and listening to the white noise in my ears and pushing away any thoughts or images that enter. I can only manage about a minute at a time but am finding it really helpful when tryimng to get to sleep xx

That sound great Katie I think I'm going to Google local courses.

Hi folks, another week flown by. We had our big workshop on friday so hopefully the pressure off a bit. Food generally good. We went out for dinner sat night with friends - had a sugary cocktail but it wasnt very interesting. The bitter chocolate pud was rather tastier:)

Trying to get more dancing in as then i feel better plus looking forward to some down time over half term next week

Today out with my mum to look for my christmas present - a new mac. I am still wearing the one i've had for last 15 years and enough people have pointed out that it is huge and looks like a large sack that i decided it was time to change! Then off to town for a coaching session & a board meeting.....life flies when you're having fun!

See you later xxx

Evening all, hope all well:)

Decided to skip expensive v day dinners so went out with DH for breakfast - he had a stack of pancakes and i had a large (legal) cooked breakfast. You know i didnt even want his because it was covered in icing sugar ugh. They swapped the bread for an extra poached egg so i was literally stuffed! Also DH made me my favourite chocolate truffles - heart shaped dark chocolate and cream - who says low carb doesn't have treats?!

Finally it's friday and half term - vino open and we have to get into practice for friends to dinner tomorrow - i'm suitably relaxed:D

Have a great weekend all - and remember the low carb stuff tastes better!
Xx

Sounds lovely Katie hope you had a lovely weekend x

Howdy all:)
Just checking in - keeping up on all the threads to read but little time to post - the joys of half term:). Having a great time, some work, some family stuff, the odd afternoon nap:D. Plenty of wine and some chocolate but as per my usual actually mostly low carb food.

Emptied my cupboards and drawers out - came across the only pair of trousers i kept from"before" and i was growing out of them when i started on here....'hysterically' large now of course...or scary...or terrifying.......really must do one of those trouser photos:)

Hope all well and will try to get around everyone before next week - when i'm away working all week:eek:

Xxx

I should've had a nanna nap today. Up since 6 cos someone's alarm didn't go off then I was too awake to go back to sleep. I emptied a cupboard today and found some crackers 8 YEARS out of date!!!

Hi lisa and all:). Lol at 8 year old crackers - think you've beaten my record then! Anyway, just reporting in after a week of half term - loads of vino and no dance classes but lots of nana naps - had another one this afternoon. But that was necessary because of poor sleep after too much booze the last two nights....bluergh! Anyway - would love to say that i'm going to have a healthy week but off facilitating at a workshop all week so will not have control of food, there will be wine & no classes again! Last time i was starving as just not enough protein & fat served - i have packed loads of nuts as a backup and will ask if i need extra cheese:) Upside is my mindfulness meditations going well and i'm really enjoying them. Apart from that- im enjoying the choccie truffles that dH made with dark chocolate and cream - so life is good! See ya all soon! Xxx
