Assalamu Alaikum Katie! My husband is Turkish..... is yours? - I think have found a sister!
Wa alaikum Salaam yes my husband is Turkish. Where is yours from? Mine is from a village near Aksaray (Cappadocia)
Im not devoutly observant as my picture will tell, but I feel we may have a lot in common and NOT just the turkish obsession with food or a love for lahmacun.
It seems we do have alot in common.. its fab to meet you ) I do alot of the cooking in this house.. and my inlaws are here from turkey for a few months so every morning i am putting together a big breakfast.. .that doesnt bother me as I havent eaten bread and things in years.. but its the savoury evening meals that I have to avoid... normally they eat at the kebab shop so thats easier on me.
It is so hard in my house, as my husband is a wonderful cook, but he's not that keen on doing it every day, so while he sometimes cooks for us and I can avoid it (or rebuff his attempts at stuffing me) - I do most of it, so I am constantly around amazing food.
Thankfully I am at home this evening, so going to go to bed early to avoid indulging any more (I know I am a NYE party pooper) I have already had salmon and two rather large bites of cheese cake, which I then forced on my husband, which are NOT on the 810 list. But what the heck, I just had a day off, which is ok. Tomorrow I am back on it!
I was at work (only help out on fri and sat nights answering the phone) but as its a bit quiet i am now in bed looking around the boards. So I am also a party pooper... then again cant really see me at a NYE party hehe!
To answer your question by the way, the first time I did CD I was SS all the way and lost 4 stone in about 14 or 15 weeks, I then fell pregnant with Alara and since then I have been trying to lose weight using a lot of failed methods including CD -this time I have been re-starting for over a year, but I actually made it work for me 6 months ago and have lost a healthy 44lb, I still have at least 14lbs left (my oh my is that all?) my aim is to sort out my issues, it's not really just about losing the weight this time, it's about getting my mind and body in sync.
Well done on your success... its amazing. This is the first time of trying CD and to be honest I always said I would never try this type of diet.. then again i said that about Atkins and lost 6 stone doing that lol... I have since moved town and put 2.5 stone back and it is just going up and up so I decided enough is enough!!!
Stay strong and some day you will be sitting where I am...Insallah!
