Jo you are doing amazing. All the food sounds delicious, esp the stew with dumplings and the chicken filo pie YUM YUM I've been unwell and had no appetite but apparently I am getting better because reading this has made me hunggggry!

Hahaha glad my post has made you better!! The pie and the stew were both amazing and I'm so proud cos sometimes my experiments don't turn out so well! X
 
Wow your doing so well avoiding cinema food, a meal out and 3 days without choc. Great getting back on it after vday. I feel huge today don't know why but I'm trying for a good loss this week. Good luck xx

Thanks lovely, the choc is very hard work!! i had one of my new protein bars today that was chocolate flavoured. Hope that doesn't count?!?!?! It was no double decker!!! X
 
Hello all!

A new week has begun and its going to be a tough one cos it's half term. I'm still working so I know I'm good on work days rather than sitting at home or going out with the kids which generally involves eating! The problem is going to be the gym trips. I managed to squeeze in just under an hour sesh today of treadmill and circuits. But I'm so busy with work and have to pick the kids up earlier than normal when school ends.
I'm hoping to go Zumba tomorrow night to up this weeks activity. Other than that I'm on day 4 of no chocolate. I find I'm really missing it after tea cos all my little dessert options like a sneaky ww biscuit or cake if I do want one are chocolate!! So when I go shopping on Wednesday some non choc options need to be bought. It will also be hard not to jump on the scales on Wednesday as part of no scales lent. I know I've been good bar v day and I'm not cheating thinking WI is far away. I want a good loss at least 3lb for when lent ends. That will get me comfortably into next stone bracket as getting into the 14s by the 14th did not happen!!

Anyway food today:
B- bagel with low fat cream cheese and a clementine
L- chicken noodle mugshot and a ryvita with cream cheese
Snack after gym- protein bar. Was chocolate flavoured but I think it's probably carob so those do not count as chocolate!!!
D- turkey stir fry (massive portion and delicious!)

Aw thanks Sarah!!! I do like cooking and trying new recipes. Your a mum too aren't you, so u know how easy it is to get into a rut of the same meals that u know will leave empty plates and no hassle!! Now they are older and in school they are better at trying new things. It's mainly my hubs I have to convince with new things! He's very set in fish and chip Fridays and roast on Sundays and big hearty meals every other day of the week!! Well this week I put my foot down and I'm doing the change for life pollock and leek bakes on Friday so it is fish still! We will have to see how well it goes! X
 
Good evening all!

Well Tuesday is almost over and normally I'd be thinking of WI in the morn but I'm sticking to my lent challenge and I won't be jumping on! I've also succeeded another day of zero chocolate and have bought some ww coconut cakes if I do feel like a little naughty treat! Tonight we had strawberries and squirty cream :p mmm shame I had to share lol
Other than that today has been:
B- shreddies and milk then pineapple and mango fingers and a WW yogurt
L- blue cheese triangle sandwich and quavers
S- cup a soup and some chicken bites
D- chicken fajitas and salad then strawbs and cream

Total - 1536
Slightly over but I'm off to Zumba tonight so ill be sure to burn some of them off! So will update with Zumba cals burnt later on...

Hope everyone has had a nice Wednesday!
I've managed to squeeze in a gym sesh so I'm happy. 30mins on the cross trainer woo sweaty stuff and another 30 mins circuits burnt off 573 cals! Phew.
I've uploaded tonight's tea cos it looked delishhhhh and trust me it tasted awesome too!!
Other food of today
B- bagel and a yogurt
Protein shake
L- dolmio pasta pot
D- toad in the hole, veg mash and veg with gravy
And just now had a banana with a toffee yogurt on top

Total food 1496
Today's been a good day :) and here's to a good rest of the week!!!

I got a bit like that, I felt if I stopped I would lose my momentum but you def need some rest or switch up what you are doing and have a couple lower intensity workouts like yoga/ pilates/ swimming perhaps?
 
Evening all.
Well not a good day today as out with work for a meeting and lunch was out at the pub next to the meeting centre, I checked cals before I went and decided on the steak which was one of the better options. I probably in hindsight should of not had the chips or onion rings that came with it but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing! We had lunch quite early and I have to cook for my family anyway too so I had tea as well. So over on today's cals but it couldn't really be helped... I was really good at the meeting cos there was loads of chocolate but I took some supplies with me to not break!

B- porridge and blueberries
S- mcvitie breakfast biscuits, fruit and a hot chocolate.
L- steak dinner
D- rosemary Conley pasta bolognese bake with 2 slices garlic ciabatta.

Total 1846 and no exercise :(
Going to try and fit a sesh in tomorrow doing circuits and really burn some cals!

I think I'm doing too much cardio. I do really enjoy it but I'm gonna up the weights and strength. Hopefully that will help! Thanks :) x

There are some really good arti les on the womens fitness health website that give good advice on the cardio v strength training debate. Personally I love weights and burn you feel from pushing high weights so trying to get a good balance can be hard. You do a wide range of different exercises so I think your doin fab.

thanks sarah ive had a good look and got some good tips. yesterday i did circuits with kettlebells, press ups, squats and lunges. it burnnnned! but i pretty much ruined it last night having wine with the girls :( and pringles :(:(
 
hello all, well ive been really naughty.... i went on the scales! :(:(:( so thats lent challenge number 2 broken after only a few days, it was actually the other day i jumped on and ive only lost 0.5lb... im geting really grumpy cos i do so much exercise but i feel im kidding myself with my food lately. ive just got wayyyy to comfortable and feel like i know what im doing and thinking things will work but they just dont!!! im on mfp so i am aware of what im eating but like thursday i had a meal out with work which pushed the cals up. im just being stupid thinking doing loads of exercise will cancel it out and it just isnt. im looking at mfp diary and only one day ive been on cal target!! i really need to research and show myself that just because i worked my ass off in the gym im not even entitled to even 1cal extra!!! actually last weekend were my lowest days!! but then mon=1542 (42over) tues=1536 (36 over) weds=1496 (at last 4 under) thursday=1846 (346 over!!) friday 2093 (593 over!) theres just no wonder its not coming off like before thats 1013 cals over my 1500 a day limit.. im just so shocked at myself. exercise the week has been 2163 so half that exercise i might as well have not even done!!!! its so shocking when you look at it and i just want to cry. i feel like ive been so good and i just havent!!! so it stops NOW!!!! the reason why it worked before is because i did it to the letter!! and its slowed now and i can see exactly why the numbers have been there all along!! so today it STOPS get back on the horse and i mean right back on!! no eating exercise cals back either!!! cos otherwise theres just no point! i sweat my ass off and for what?!! im sticking to NO CHOCOLATE FOR LENT and i havent had any so i am proud of myself for that at least!!
i decided im going to do some exercise in the morning on an empty stomach. it apparently burns more fat...? its worth a try. and 1500cals a day no matter how much exercise is done. so today i did the amy childs workout 1 and just had a healthy cooked breakfast of quorn sausages, beans, 1x bread and scrambled one egg with a little milk at 410 cals total. so heres to the rest of the week!!! and no more scales!!

I'm feeling a lot better after this mornings rant. I'm Glad I can actually see what the problem is rather than being 100% and not losing I know what's going wrong and it's time to start getting back to the way I was at the beginning, get that "newness" back and not feel like I'm the god of cc!!
Last night I went for a little (ok a lot!) of wine with a few girlfriends and they were very complimentary as a lot of ppl have been recently about my decreasing waist line! And I suppose because I'd had a few I may have sounded a little arrogant when I said "yeah I have lost weight and I deserve every bloody pound because I've sweated and starved my ass off!!!" But it's true I say thank you of course but I want ppl to know and I know most already know that it's bloody hard work it hasn't come easy!!
I'm happy to be back in control and will now hopefully see that fab result when I finally get back on the scales in a few weeks time!
So today:
B- healthy cooked breakfast; quorn sausages, beans, scrambled egg and 1xtoast
L- noodle snack pot, frazzles, some cooked turkey pieces, WW coconut cake slice and a peach
D- hairy dieters lasagne with salad then a banana topped with crumbled digestive and WW toffee yogurt.
Total 1450
Which is a bit more like it!!!
I did exercise but having to estimate about 100- 200 cals burnt.

The hairy dieters lasagne was less lasagne more mush. It tasted nice but was very mushy and the leeks didn't hold it all together. I would definatley make the red and white sauces again but I will use pasta sheets again. Not been convinced by leeks!!!
