Laura's Diary - My first -7lbs! :-)

Well it's been 2 weeks since I last updated! Lately I just seem to have been so busy with so much going on.

Firstly update on my Grandad - he does have lung cancer but has been told that it hasn't/won't spread which is positive news. He is now waiting to hear from the hospital that he is being referred to, to see what treatment can be offered.

Also had my 25th Birthday last Sunday :D
Had a night out with friends on Saturday although I'd had a cold so didn't drink as many cocktails as I would have liked. Then they all came back to our house for a bit. My sister and best friend had been arranging something for my birthday..which I had no idea about. Turns out they (and another friend) had got me a Wii!!! :D I feel so spoilt...especially when they also got me an extra controller and some games! Then I had another surprise when I went to my parents on Sunday and they had gotten my the Wii Fit Plus and Balance Board. I've really been spoilt this birthday!

So thanks to them for getting me the Wii and probably also due to turning 25 I have decided to start my last ever (I'm hoping) restart. I'm really hoping that the Wii will help to motivate me a bit more.

So I will update a little bit later with food diary and hopefully I will be here to stay now...will just have to hope that the hectic period at work is now over.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and Easter. xx

Happy birthday :) Sounds like you had a great night. Good luck with the restart, you did well last time so you know you can do it. Hope your grandad gets some good treatment x

I'm sorry to hear about your Grandads news although it is good to hear it hasn't spread and wish him all good wishes on a good recovery and doing well during treatment.
And many happy returns for your birthday :D

glad your granda's cancer hasnt spread, i hope they can do something for him :)

happy birthday btw, yours is a few days after mine then as mine was the wednesday before :)

hows the wii? have you played on it plenty? :) x

Thanks for the comments! :)

Restart is going really well this time...although I haven't had the chance to get on here and update.
First WI was a STS but I feel more motivated and healthy already so hopefully next weeks results will be better.

Rach - Belated Happy Birthday! Will go check your diary to catch up. Am spending so much time on the Wii. I didn't realise it would be this addictive. I'm impressed with it as when I've used it I do actually feel like I've had some kind of workout! :D

Have spent the whole weekend cleaning the house and washing/ironing. It helped towards my 'fresh start' attitude though!
Have a Drs appointment on Tues evening as they sent me off for a blood test last week and they called to say results were back (which I wasn't expecting to quickly) and that Dr wants to see me to discuss. The blood test was originally to see whether I had polycystic ovarian syndrome as we already know I have polycystic ovaries but Drs lost original blood test results years ago. I never heard from them so just assumed they came back clear. They also tested Thyroid and Glucose...so will see what the results say, am slightly nervous though!

Hello hun i am back on ww from today whoopp lol x

Hi Hun, Welcome back! Hope you're well.xx

Thanks Rach! xx

Well the last couple of days have been quite busy. Work was hectic yesterday. Also had my Drs appointment in the evening. Basically my blood test results confirmed that I do have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. So they have referred me to an Endocrinology (sp?) specialist. They have also told me that losing weight is the most important thing I could do to help. So I really have to put all my will power into this. At the moment (due to how rare my TOTM is) the Dr has said that it "doesn't bode well" for fertility. But she said that losing weight will help. Will just have to take things one step at a time. She also spoke to me about smoking and recommended that I tried to give up so that when I have lost a bit of weight and feel comfortable to start trying for a baby I would have already given up smoking and been not smoking for a while.
It was kind of overwhelming and I know it's going to be really hard to lost the weight and give up smoking at the same time but I feel very motivated as having a baby is such an important reason to do all this. I think the main thing is to keep positive...it seems to really help me. I only really crave food or want to smoke when I'm stressed/upset etc. So I 've decided to try to take things day by day and keep a positive attitude! *Fingers Crossed* :D

Will update later with food diary for today.xx

That sounds like a real spur to get your restart going so I've everything crossed for you and willing you on to do well

M

you can do this Loz :) all you need is a bit of willpower and you've already got us lot, so away we go :D x

Thanks for the comments.

I didn't have a very good week last week. My grandad got rushed into hospital on Sunday evening and it didn't look good so I took Mon and Tues off work as holiday so that I could visit him. And he is now recovering which is better than we were originally being told. Then I fainted Wed morning - we think it was just stress as I've been running around doing so much lately and not sleeping properly at all.
So had a chat with OH and parents on Thurs and they said I need to look after myself better and try not to get too run down. Take some time to relax etc.
Then we were told my landlady that we would have to sign our new contract soon (6 months without leaving). We have been looking to move into cheaper property to try to pay some things off and start saving, so we didnt want to sign new contract.
Then my mum called to say that they had been thinking for a while now of asking us to move back in with them. It would mean us having my sisters room and her using the dining room as a temporary bedroom. But they have all said that it would be fine and it would really help us out with getting some savings etc, as properties to rent are so expensive around here.
So in 3 weeks time it's back to my parents...it will certainly have it's 'interesting' moments but I'm sure we can make it work.

Diet-wise: WI last week was a STS which I'm not surprised about as I had a couple over-points days. But back to 100% today. Will post food diary later.

Yesterday we went to see my Aunt run her first London Marathon. It was a really fun day out. We went to the Tower Hill area so that we could see her before she crossed Tower Bridge (at her 12 mile) and again coming back past later (her 22 mile). She did so well! When we saw her at mile 22 she looked quite calm and didn't seem to be struggling too much. She finished at about 5hrs 45mins and she set a target of 6hrs so she done really good!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xx

:wavey: Hope you're okay and that grandad is still on the mend. Take care xxx

Ditto, we moved in with Adam's grandparents because Surrey is just ridic. We were paying £1100 a month for a 2 bed! Before bills.

Thanks Jax! :) He's still waiting for the results from a scan so that he can begin treatment - but he seems quite positive which it good. Hope you're keeping well!xx

Exactly, it's way too expensive in Surrey! We have been looking for somewhere a bit cheaper for ages and had no luck! We're paying £1000pcm at the moment!

So much for me updating Mon evening - my friend picked me up from work and came back to ours for a chat as she'd been in cornwall for a week so wanted to catch up. Then our other 2 friends joined us and we ended up playing Wii Sports Resort most of the night. Then yesterday work was quite busy and as I had a late night Monday I went to bed so early last night.

Work seems a lot less busy today which is quite good...means I can catch up on some reading. I just finished Charlotte Grey (love that book) and before that I read Birdsong. Now I've finally decided to start to read Twilight...although I haven't watched any of the films yet.

Food Diary (Week 4 Day 5)
B - Apple (0.5), Tropical fruit juice (1)
L - BBQ chicken slices (?), Wrap 1 1/2 (?)
Lettuce (0), Carrot (0), Salad Cream (?)
D -
S - Banana (1.5)

Not sure what's for dinner tonight yet and also not sure on a few of the points so will edit/update later. Hope everyone's having a good day!xx

Hey Loz:)

Crawling back in from my "Houdini act";)

Very jealous you have Wii Sports Resort - is it good? Very tempted to get it!

How are you? I need to seriously catch up!

Good luck for your Grandads results xx

I'm back...again! :)

Haven't been able to update in a while as have been moving back to parents so have not had internet connection and was on holiday from work so have had no access to minimins...have missed you guys!
So we have completely moved everything over to my parents (and some to OHs parents to store). I really think we've made the right decision to move back there. We will be able to save so much money and still afford to have a life! Also I think it will help to motivate me to lose weight as my mum and sister want to start to eat more healthy too. Also it will be nice to be able to afford a proper food shop and get some nice fruit/veg etc.

So you all are probably fed up hearing me say this but...I am going to be re-starting from today and my first WI will be Sat. I'm really hoping that I can stick to it this time as I keep on trying and not really getting anywhere. Think that as we have moved back with parents there will be less stress (over money etc) so hopefully that will have a positive impact *fingers crossed* :D

As well as moving I seem to have had a really busy couple of weeks. It was my best friends birthday on Tues, so last Sat evening a group of us went to a local greek restaurant. It was such a great night out! The food was lovely (not very good for a diet though). Then they did the plate smashing and fire dancing. After that they got everyone up to do some greek dancing and then played some really cheesy music to keep everyone dancing. It was really fun! :)

For this evening all I have planned is washing/ironing...such fun! Hoping to be able to get some Wii Fit done too.

Well I am now off to catch-up on everyone's diaries...I'm sure I've missed lots!
Hope everyone's having a lovely (sunny) day! :D xx

Hey, well done on the losses so far...you're restart is going great! I agree, we can definitely do this! xx

So has everyone been enjoying the nice weather?:character00238:
I've had a lovely weekend. As it was my best friends birthday on Tues we were arranging an evening to give her all her pressies. So on Friday we got her to come to another friends house for some drinks with me, OH and my sister. We got her a nights stay in a hotel on the embankment for her and her OH. Also as she is obssessed with spongebob we got her some funny little pressies and a birthday cake. We had a great night...just spent hours chatting and having a giggle. Not home till gone 2am.
Then on Saturday we were going out with her and her OH's friends for her birthday (her 3rd birthday celebration!). We went to a pub in Clapham North with a huge garden with lights etc in it. It was a another really great night! I had my first tequila shot...which as I don't like lemon didn't taste very nice! :p As we had to get the buses home it was another late night...not home till gone 3am!
Then yesterday I had lots of washing/ironing to do, cleaned my room etc. So kinda feel like I haven't had a chance to relax much lately. Am going food shopping tonight but tomorrow evening I am keeping free to relax and have a bit of a pamper!
Diet-wise things are going well. Have stuck to my points (had to save some for the weekend drinks). Had WI on Sat and am at the same weight I was a few weeks ago, so am restarting from that weight. I'm quite glad with that as while we moved house I lapsed a bit as so much was going on and I felt so stressed out so I ate really badly so expected to have put on more.

Well am off to do some work...hope everyone has a lovely day! xx

Hope everyone had a lovely back holiday weekend! :D

Last week was so busy at work...so the long weekend was much needed.
Went round to a friends on Friday evening which was nice. Didn't stay too late though as was quite tired.
On Saturday we went to Dartford with my parents as we had a wedding reception to go to (my mum's cousin's daughter). The B&B we stayed in was lovely! The wedding reception was really good..nice chance to catch up with some family we don't see often, and also meet some family that I haven't met before.
On Sunday we stopped off at a National Trust place (Scotney Castle) on the way home and had a lovely walk around the gardens. Got some beautiful photos as well! :)
On Monday I caught up with housework and then a friend come round to help fix my parents computer. So my dad did a BBQ and another friend joined us as well. It was a nice relaxing evening.

Diet is going well, sticking to my points. First WI on Saturday and lost 1lb, which I'm happy with as at least it's a loss.

Food Diary (Week 2 Day 5)
B: Cereal (1.5), Milk Purple Top 1/2 Pint (1.5) 250ml Orange Juice (1)
L: Chicken and Leek Cup-A-Soup (2), Bread Roll (2), Marg. 10g (1).

Hope everyone's having a good day!xx
