Licking the Lid of Life....my esoteric diary

Ok today I found my reward outfit.

My dad is getting married next year and I will need a dress. I will also be in photos ( I hate photos) so it's a driving force.

Today I found this dress. Perfect colour for me. Double bonus that the future wicked step mother works in marks and gets 20% discount. Thank you very much :) :)

My thinking is that I'll buy it in a 12 (the dress size I achieved last time around) and aim to be in it for the wedding. If in the meantime I find another dress this one isn't so expensive I won't buy another and keep this for the summer instead. Last time I had a swimming costume hanging up for inspiration. This time it will be this dress most likely.

3lb off this week!! :) :)

Ah thanks! I keep expecting it to slow but I think I did the best thing starting soon after birth and maximising the breastfeeding benefits. Plus to be truthful I have a shed load to lose again as pregnancy really took its toll. Well pizza took its toll but pregnancy didn't help haha. Either way it's easier to lose when there is more to lose!

I think I will be getting that dress. It's my birthday in 2 weeks so if I get some pennies they may be going the way of M&S!

All-Bran is awfully like eating sawdust isn't it. o_O Although I'm sticking with it because you get 40g for your hex so I've been topping it with banana and almond milk and letting it go a bit soggy. Takes ages to absorb the milk...about three days at last count but hey ;);)

I needed to get this as it was the only cereal I could find with a spoon code inside!!!

I just read the first page of my diary.

It's shocking

I was 31.

I'm 34 in two weeks!!

Yes I like crunchy bran. Didn't think of that!!

Welcome back Sam... I say that like I've actually been here the entire time! I've been flitting in and out too!!

Congrats on the new bambino, fabulous news! That All Saints leather jacket will be yours, I can feel it! 3lbs this week is amazing. Looking forward to being entertained daily once again by your shenanigans :) xx

Opal Lily my word how the devil are you. Yes I'm disappointed to say that my grungy cotton all saints jacket had to be put away but I'm determined that it shall ride forth once more and be accompanied by that elusive leather one!!! I'm glad you are back. That woodwork has been hiding some people really hasn't it?

Thanks Mary I'm thinking I will get the dress :) maybe that can be my target profile pic too :) :). I'm thinking this week may be the week for a STS. No real reason but I'm starting the week feeling "heavy". Maybe it's *week. I'm never sure due to the implant but get some of the symptoms. Annoyingly water retention being one. We shall see come Thursday!!

Happy Monday everyone. Yes I know that that's a contradiction in terms....... ;)

I hope it's ok but I've spent some of yesterday and today reading quite a lot of this as once I started I had to finish ( I did skip a bit in the middle tho)
Have really enjoyed reading it - very funny!
I'm in the middle of my first ( this time) week on sw and it it was much needed encouragement reading all the good losses (and trials and tribulations) from previous years. I hope I can be as successful ...
Karen

Ahh but Tily/Karen the middle is the best bit. Much like a doughnut.

Honestly I'm flattered that you took the time! Also please feel free to join in the discussion. This place works best when we all join in. I lost so much last time and a large amount of it was down to minimins and the friends I made on here. Who for all I know are 80yr old men sitting around in their pants....in fact I could be one too. Who knows?:banana_dancer: Only kidding. Everyone is lovely (and hopefully clothed) so come and join the fun. It can be quiet since the close down last year but a few of us are working to juzz (you just can't spell that word effectively) it back up again.

I look forward to hearing from you :) and wish you all the best for what I am sure will be a successful journey :) x

Thank You - hopefully as my slimming journey progresses I might have some tips/hints for others but at the moment I feel a bit like a thief - just stealing all the bits I fancy and giving nothing back! :(

It's not about giving back it's often just about being here if you catch my drift :)

I am definitely going to have my first gain or maintain this week. It's definitely water so I shouldn't be annoyed but I can feel it when I knit my fingers together so it's a period side effect. Bummer.

Hi Sam, I enjoy reading your diary again, I was still subscribed from back before Minimins got killed and resurrected. And I'm still here like a bad penny...I can't believe it coz when I started Slimming World, I well and truly believed I'd be at goal early 2015...and I probably could have been if I had made myself comfy in a plastic bubble with no life and no biscuits. But I didn't so I'm still here ;) I'm just restarting once again but determined to make it to goal this calendar year. Probably December. And if not in 2016, I might just leave the 2016 calendar on the wall until I reach it...

Well done on the loss, that's a fab result, you're obviously doing something right!!!

Love the dress, I was going say that style is flattering, which it is, but I don't mean it in a nasty way.

I add yogurt to my cereals, well the 'dry' ones, like all bran, I find they soak better, I also leave them a while before eating. I did buy puffed wheat and blitz them up, then added to fruit & topped with yogurt so it was like a crumble, it works.

H-H: Yoghurt is a great idea. I'll try it. May soak over night as its stubborn stuff haha. I know what you mean re flattering and that's always going to be a consideration for me. No matter that last time I was in size 12 I still had "bits" I wanted to smooth over and cover and now after two children I guess that will be all the more so! You know, eventually. At the moment it's not so much smoothing over as steamrollering into submission. ;)

Bee - I am aiming for a Christmas goal too really. The way I see it was 9 months on and maybe 9months + off again but it's far away enough to be comfortable but near enough to be within sight! I'm sure 2016 will be our year :)

Hi Sam
Been lurking a bit as I had only just joined your diary when Mins shut down!
Agree that the more people that post, the more it will feel like old Mins :)
Congratulations on your new baby! Slowly getting back into SW but it feels a struggle this time around after the best part of a year largely of plan, but hopefully we will get back to target some time this year :)
