Linda's JUDDD Diary...

Woohoo, got tickets for The Killers on 16th November, wonder how much weight I can lose between now and then as I either have an XL tshirt which is already too big, or a small t-shirt that is obviously too small, I was 10 stone when I bought that. Good excuse for a new one I guess....
 
Well today I am totally amazed. I weighed in last Thursday morning, 2 days early and had lost nearly 1 lb. Since then I have had 5 UP days including Tuesday where I ate nearly 3500 calories and 2 DD. My official WI wont be until Saturday where I am hoping for a STS, but by then I should have 6 UP days under my belt and 3 DD so slightly better odds. But I got on the scales today and I have only gained 1lb since last Thursday..... I am so pleased, which just goes to show that for me it is the UP/DOWN swing that works and not the total calories consumed.

Saturday 191.6lb (+2.8lb) post UD +2.8lb
Sunday 189.8lb (- 1.8lb) Post DD + 1lb

Weds 193.2lb (+ 0.8lb) Post UD = +4.4lb
Thursday 189.8 lb (- 3.4lb) Post DD + 1lb

I even spent yesterday relaxing, didn't exercise, didn't do anything other than sit and I went to bed at 9pm as I was so tired. So I think it is a good result.
 
Another DD today, my gain wasn't bad for my UP day, pleased with that. Went to the pub last night and we came 2nd in the pub quiz. Did have 2 pints of lager though and I always retain fluid when I drink alcohol. Am aiming to have a SnS shake at lunch time and another tin of Scotch Broth soup for dinner, followed by a 10 cal jelly... yummy. Milk for my coffee, plenty of water and that should do me for today.

Hope ur DD went OK...i had one too...why oh why do i find them easier than UD's!? I see ur another jelly fan, im really going to have to get some to try as everyone says how tasty it is. Any particular flavour recommendations?

Got on the scale this morning after not weighing yesterday and was a bit shocked by my gain, but this week is normally the week I gain because of TOTM so I guess it is to be expected....

Off to Wembley tomorrow night to watch England v Ukraine, but as it is an international qualifier, it is unlikely they will be selling beer there or anywhere in the vicinity, so at least I wont be tempted by that, but am thinking of having a Domino's pizza before we go so we dont have to eat whilst we are out. Not so good!! Well life is for living, after this week dont think we have anything important until end of October, so will make a real big effort to control my UP days after tomorrow.....

Today is a DD and haven't actually eaten anything yet, am thinking I might not bother as I am not really hungry now....
 
Hi there. I remember you too. Think you may live not too far from me in Essex. Might have remembered that wrong tho. How you doing? I put all my weight back on plus some as I was I'll end of last year and put in 2 stone in under a month due to inflammation etc. JUDDD has taken some of my inflammation away although still some to go. I am losing weight very slowly but it is much easier to do than CD. A way of life rather than a diet. Am aiming to lose 50lb by next summer and hopefully keep it off by always doing JUDDD. much more sociable than CD. You can plan this diet around your life rather than planning your life around a diet like you had to with CD.

Got a bit behind, life is just too hectic at the moment. Yesterday was horrendous food wise, went with DH to Wetherspoons for breakfast, didn't think of working out the calories until I was on my way home and found breakfast was over 1500 calories, so shock horror there, and we had planned Dominos Pizza for dinner before going off to Wembley to watch the footie. Only had 1 slice of pizza as still wasn't hungry by dinner time and a slice of the cheesecake that my son had made. So all well and good so far, but then when we got home from footie and 12.30am, I was starving and promptly ate another 2 slices of pizza and another slice of cheesecake. Hence I am now hungry this morning, so will have to start on the water quickly. So WI so far this week.... with a slight alteration from the other day as I didn't add up properly.... I put on a whopping 5lb after my 2 UP days which weren't even too bad really, guess it was the alchohol that did it.

I think ur doing so well linda and what happened to u happened to me at the wkend except mine was worse as i wasnt even hungry! This is a weight loss journey but also a mind altering journey. My mum and i were chatting for ages the other day and basically concluded that i am still bingeing on UD's because i am still not used to eing 'allowed' any foods i want having been on a diet for over 10 years. CD did not help this obviously, and i dont believe that any of the restrictive diets do if im honest. U can lose weight but also lose ur marbles, and i will never go back to it.
Stick with the judddering lovely, ur doing really well and it will stay off this way as well as allowing u to gain a normal and healthy relationship with food. Also remember all the hearh benefits that come with juddd. You'll live til ur about 109 an you being you probs still only look about 40!!

You are right I should stick with this, maybe I should cut my UD calories back a little, eat breakfast as I normally would but only have a shake for lunch and then my dinner and a treat in the evening..... hmmmm stuff to ponder!!

U should def stick linda! If ur like me with the crazy UD's, imagine how mcg weight u would GAIN if u weren't judddering!
If it helps, planning is key for me. i plan my eve meal and breakfast and work out cals. The. Cals left are for lunch, snacks and treats in between. If ur stickig to ur Dr J allowances u shud be losing but u could try swapping ur days round a bit, not eating white carbs/sugar in the eves etc for a while. Key to keeping metabolism moving is keep ur body guessing :)
Ur doing a bloody fine job though!
 
Good morning.... so this morning I went shopping and hadn't had any breakfast as I was going to buy some cereal whilst I was out. I realised that actually I wasn't hungry but ate breakfast when I got back anyway, some apricot wheats with milk and a banana and a cup of coffee with milk. I thought that I didn't really need to eat as I wasn't hungry but that I would be missing out if I didn't as tomorrow is a DD and I cannot have breakfast tomorrow.... does anyone else think like this.

Anyway, yesterday I did end up eating, wanted a non food at all day, but I realised just before dinner that this diet is supposed to be doable and by starving myself on DD I am making it more unpleasant than it needs to be and that I would come to dread my DD which I dont at the moment, so I had a sandwich with a pack of crisps and a jelly and 2 cups of coffee which took me to 460 calories.... not ideal, but that was what I wanted to eat so made a DD rather more pleasant.

Hence this mornings WI is only 1 lb down on my last WI... but TMI, I haven't been to the toilet for 3 days and I ate tons on Tuesday, so if I don't "go" by tonight I will take some dulcolax before bed as I dont want to leave it too long....

Am going to try and keep todays UP day more controlled.

Breakfast:- Apricot wheats and milk, cup of coffee, banana

Lunch:- Olive roll, ham, tomato and green leaves, bag of
ringos and a raisin and biscuit Yorkie

Dinner - Fruity Lamb Tagine, which according to the recipe has 497 calories a serving, is supposed to serve 4, but will do us as 3 adults (kind of) and 2 children. Probably followed by a small piece of cheesecake.

Pub:- Pint of Fosters

Does that sound like tons to you? Maybe I should have water instead of the beer...
 
I have some somewhere actually from when I did CD, they didn't help me then though, but worth hunting down for a try... thank you for reminding me!!

They didnt work for me to begin with but then i read that recommended dose on bottle and it said 9 a day and i was only taking 3! I take 6 on an UD now and 3 on a DD and it has the desired effect!
