Right............. O/T but stick with me.
As most of you know, I have accepted a new job with the Police.
Anyway, I'm on 3 months notice from my current job which means I leave 26th December.
The Police are asking me to start earlier than this and my current employer will let me leave early if I want to.
However......
* Although my new job is my dream job, it is a drop in wages
* I won't get Xmas week off work (already booked at my current job)
* Not sure I want to start a new job late Nov / early Dec
* If I start on 2nd Jan, I'll have two weeks off work before hand, which will be lovely as I finished my last exam on the Friday at Uni and started this job on the Monday, will be nice to have a break!!
on the flipside...
* I'm being excluded from everything at my current job and people are talking in code so to keep things from me
* I hate my job
So guys......... over to you..... what do you think I should do?......... start now or leave it until 2nd Jan?

why don't you tell your current employer that you want to finish early, but tell the Police that you can't start earlier and have some time off?

Ohh yeah, good point Karen. So say to them here that I'll finish for example on 18th Nov, then start my new job 1st Dec..... That way I can build in some holiday.... Will see how much it annoys me today, but it's good to have the choice.

my OH used to be a painter. when my bro moved out last year i had his room as it's bigger than mine was. i went to work one day and came back 8 hours later and it had been painted!!! ta daaaaaaaa!
i've got 3 white walls and one bright 70's orange! it's gorgeous. everyone was reluctant about the colour, except me! but it makes the room look really cosy. i've got lots of 60's 70's furniture bits in there like a lamp, soda syphon, bakerlite phone, shelving and stool. I LOVE IT!
