Hi Kat1e, I am sorry its been so long for me to reply. I am still here, but its been a busy time. Molly is still with us. We dont know how long for. But because we had given her till the end of the month, and that is coming, I looked in to what effects the steroid (Prednol) could be having on her, and I found Muscle wastage, insatiable thirst and urination plus suppressed immunity. All of which she was suffering from. So I contacted the vet to ask if we could wean her off the pills and see how she is then. This is her last day on it. Winding the clock back, when she has bladder infections its a nightmare. She's had 2 and each one lasted a couple of weeks. But we treated her for yet another bladder infection and she had the last pill middle of last week. Since being on those pills, she hasn't had many accidents at all, and began sleeping through the night . Meaning we are now getting sleep (before, she was not only wetting the bed a lot but endlessly fidgeting and scraping at the bed, so she kept us awake pretty much constantly). Now, it seems her routine is to start her night in bed, she gets out of bed and sleeps on the floor for a while and then gets back in bed. If she fidgets a lot, its our cue to toilet her. Today she woke, when we got up, and took herself in the bathroom for toletting. No accidents. We are assessing things day to day to see her physical and mental state. Also to assess if we can live like this for another 6 to 8 years. So the pressure is there still but now as intense as when things were so out of control. She still cant use her legs or tail. She has feeling in them and they move when she is being toileted. Sometimes one twitches. We hope something will change once the steroids stop.
As for me, the short version is, I had a blood test a week ago. My Triglycerides are high. I am back on LCHF. No meds and I plan to keep it that way and prove to the doc I can do it with diet alone.
