I am so in ketosis, and finding it hard to sleep at night - I just want to be doing things!!
 
Lol energy is great isnt it.
Im sorry you havent lost a vast amount but as jo says if you were doing low carb anyway it would be unlikely that you would lose the 7 lbs some people would. I enjoy the counting TBH - thats why i got on so well with WW. it must be a control thing.
 
Yeah but those who "lose" 7lbs came from not dieting (or worse!) immediately prior to starting... (and of course there's a lot of water loss)

And, with that in mind, I hereby forbid anyone from "congratulating" me on a fabulous loss on Monday, after a week, cos it's only cos I had an even MORE fabulous gain in a short period!

The energy is great and I still have a lovely sort of light headed feel....:D

I think I will feel happier when my carb counter book comes from Amazon as I get a bit fed up with cups - none of the measurements are the same it is a cup of this, half a cup of that and rarely, so many ounces - and trying to make sure I get a decent cup of raw cauli or sprouts is no meant feat :D When my book comes it should all be in grams which will be better for me. Loving cheese sausage and bacon, but missing yoghurt. How do you have your ice cream when only meant to have a few tbspns of cream? Are you allowed more past induction?
 
I dont use cups much I just go by whats on the wrapping i.e. mushrooms in packets, cabbage in packets spinach etc etc
there are some yoghurts you can find low carb - dont know myself though cos i dont really like them so dont look. have you done 2 weeks induction? are you increasing your carbs by 5?

I have 2 scoops of iccy creme ;)

Today is day 10 for me and I am so firmly in ketosis. Not sure if I should increase my carbs yet though? I really need my book to arrive so I can have a read. I have also been drinking caffeinated coffee which I think is a no no. After weighing last night it started to feel like something was happening though :) Poor Mungbean has not been well - maybe that is going to put me off food :)

I just like to do things properly and I don't feel as though I am measuring my veg carbs properly at the moment so may continue on induction for a bit when my book arrives - although I suppose the purpose of induction is to get me into ketosis, and I am there. Oh I just don't know....does ketosis make you indecisive ?:D

Mung has the runs! He is very good and does it where he should but yesterday jumped on my Son's lap after a fairly runny affair, and somehow got it all over his school jumper - yuk!!! Lucky it wasn't on his feet I guess! Just having to make sure I disinfect the worktops regularly (which I do anyway), as I can't stop him jumping up, and need to make sure the kids put the lid down on the downstaires loo, or else he can often be found down there!!

Don't think I want anything else to eat today - have had beef and cracked pepper sausages + eggs + bacon, and then some chicken legs mid morning as I felt hungry, then a choc bar with a cup of coffee! Can't face lunch now, but may make your cheeseburger pie later and everyone can have the same for once!

Sorry, what an ambiguous statment of mine! Yes, they were beef and pepper sausages! I've not had any water but at least 5 mugs of green tea and 2 coffees. Best go and put the kettle back on!
 
Must have - just been engrossed in work and not really thought about it! I guess it'll have to come out some time! Coulfd explain why I feel so full though :)

They were from Waitrose last night; I must have looked like a right nutter standing at the sausage shelf for an age, working out my net carbs! In the Dukan version of the cheeseburger pie I saw you use f frais - what do you use in the Atkins version, cream? Mung was very interested in said sausages - he can't be feeling that unwell! Thanks for all your Atkins help and advice.xx

No you use double cream and full fat mayo yum yum yum.
no problem at all :) i know how it was when i started this time last year!

Yes I am subtracting the fibre. I may get some of those Debbie & Andrew sausages later as I need to pop back to Waitrose, as I opened the hot chocolate I bought yesterday for this kids last night adn teh tub was 3/4 empty!!! Kids not best pleased :D

The novelty with the cream has worn off a bit now, but it should be nice on the pie; I haven't got any mayo so I will make some. What ratio of cream/mayo do you use? I was having scrambled egg quite a lot, with cream but this morning I just had dry fried eggs.

What are you having for tea?

How many carbs in them without subtracting fibre??? You dont subtract the fibre in the uk its already done. Only the atkins bars have this confusing american stuff on but just take what it says as carbs on the packet.
you need loads of mayo for the pie hon have you got the recipe?

Im having burgers for tea :) yum with mayo and cheese oh and wine!
 
Ah, I have been subtracting the fibre from the carbs because that's what the site told me to do, although these only had 0.4 fibre. That might explain slow loss!! I've got the Dukan version of the recipe. I suppose I have been using the US site!
 
Ah no hon not it the Uk yes that might be.

Cheeseburger Pie
Total carbs 9c. Serves 4
Ingredients:
500g minced beef
50g finely chopped onion
150g chopped mushrooms
100mls double cream
2 heaped tablespoons of mayo
150g strong cheddar grated
3 eggs
salt & pepper to taste


Fry mince, onion and mushrooms together until cooked season to taste, drain off fat, add Lee & Perrins sauce.
Place in a greased foil covered deep pie dish, flatten with spoon.
Beat eggs add mayo, cream and cheese.
Pour over the top of mince, drop olives around the dish and bake in oven Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 mins until set and golden brown.
Leave to cool before taking out of pie dish, remove foil.
Cut in to portions and wrap in cling film
This freezes very well.
Lovely with salad, cauli mash, or stir fry (Great in lunchboxes)

Optional 1 Tablespoon Lea & Perrins 2c and 10 black olives
