MAMA22 diary

Have you guys ever heard of "set weight"

I've been looking into it, well for ages actually, and apparently our bodies can have a set weight which is difficult to overcome with diet alone. That's why so many people rebound and fall off the wagon. There is loads of research online about how to overcome it. All of which seems like a lot of hard work, but think there is some logic to the theory. The problem is if you up your fitness you would have to up your intake if carbs and calories or your body would rebel in any case!

Sorry a total ramble there.... Hope you are enjoying your Saturday's!

Set weight ?!? Mmm might have to take a peek at that xxx hope yr all well and well done on the weight loss so far x

Hi Mama22-

I wish I was in the 10s. You are holding your own. Look into the set weight thing Nat mentioned

Not a good weekend I'm up but that's not a surprise lol busy week ahead it's my little girls birthday party on saturday so loads of cooking, cleaning and baking ect
Made over 100 choux buns yesterday and froze them to finish on Saturday. Also have all of the prep to do myself as oh has been dragged of with work at the end of this week. At least I won't have time to eat lol

Thanks guys, learnt about Set Weight Theory when I was at college it only came about in 1982 and a sustained exercise programme can change any set weight that's why I train so much lol. When I worked in a gym doing classes running around all day ect my set weight was 9,10/10 stone so I know if I keep training (and stop cheating lol) I can and will push back down to 10.

My weight went up when I left the gym and got a desk job, got married and settled in to feeding my man and enjoying expensive holidays, meals out and all social activities changed from hill walking, mountain climbing, swimming and gym to food and drink.
On a positive I know where I went wrong and how to reset my body I just need to suppress my inner feeder with activities that don't involve food so much again lol x

It's just finding the balance between diet and exercise to get things moving again so it's trial and error.

For me this week was error as I gained half a lb lol think I did to much cardio some days as I ended up starving and eating meat, but think if I hadn't eaten so much meat I would have lost (still listening to my inner piggy, also grabbing a slice of chicken when not hungry)

No! I actually think that you need to eat at lest 1000 cals of high protein foods if you are training. 40 mins of cross training burns about 380 cals, so if you off set that on your cals, it would mean that your body has to be above 535 otherwise you go into starvation mode, store water and don't lose anything. Look up starvation biochemics. Eat small and often, I think this will work eventually. Look up Tim ferris bit of a crank but has some interesting things to say about his 4 hour body!

That's what a mean by balance between exercise and diet, the right amount of calories to get me losing again with my exercise. If I look at my food diary the days I train I am hitting about 1200cal and SS on the days I didn't train. But I'm still not losing yet so will be altering things but this week.

I know what you mean! I think it could be something that is really important to those of us with less to lose!

Good luck for this week!

This is all too technical for me - I like a simple way of losing weight lol. Thats why I like CD, no thinking involved. But - I am getting bored of it now

I'm the same been to busy to train since Friday and not been 100% CD at all unless wine counts on cd lol

Morning Mama22,

LOL Eggie -- I am much the same: I loved the simplicity of a VLCD, but I think once you've done one and have regained a bit -- then it does not work the same. so, I am trying to figure out the calories in, fitness balance as well.

White wine is not so bad. ;) At least dry white wine is fairly low carb.

Busy busy day 3rd cake in the oven for girlies birthday and still not trained this week. 10,12 this morning so not great, it's just so hard when hubby calls and say shall I pick up a cold white you just can't say no with this lovely weather lol

Been good today so far must stick with it.

Alllll by myself don't want to be alllll by myself, hubby is away tonight with work and won't be back till late tomorrow do all party prep is down to me. Decorating the cake tonight so they will keep me busy.

Was good'ish yesterday and I'm 10,10 and 5/8 this morning hoping for another good day today. Enjoy the sun everyone x

Would your husband be any help at all?

I'm sure he will help tomorrow but I will have done most things by then.

Good day ended bad yesterday :-(

I am glad to know that he will be some help -- sorry your day ended badly.

Cleaned everything (for the mil's grand tour she gives everyone) refilled 5 hanging baskets, swept and weeded courtyard, almost finished decorating the cake, big shop done, washing done and starting to cook the things to serve cold. Ironing later and putting 3 large shoulders of pork in slow cook think I will need wine later lol

on a even more positive note not really got much left to do, rest of cooking tomorrow (hot foods) decorate and put balloons up and my lovely sister is coming to finish my choux pastries. Hubby will be serving everyone drinks and serving the hot food so I can enjoy everything.

Whew!!! What a lot of work. Well done!!!

Sausage rolls, 5 quiches and a side of salmon cooked and the ironing done just as hubby walks in, and can't have my wine as put it in the freezer to chill and forgot now it's frozen. Well someone/ thing wants me to be good lol
