Manny...Ticking on by

Hi everyone,

I really need help to get back on track with this. So far I am doing ok in the mornings and afternoon and then when I get how I end up eating a whole load of rubbish.

For example I will have a 2.5 point breakfast, 5 point lunch. This would allow me an 19.5 point dinner. However I would end up eating Pizza at about 40 points.

I need some motivation

If it is pizza you are craving then what about having WW pizza much less points and rather tasty too. You can buy 2 different ones in Iceland ham and pineapple and the other is veg. They are frozen and quite filling.

They are about 5/6 points for a whole one. There's also the chilled WW ones but i prefer these frozen ones

Thanks Irene,

I am not sure if it is pizza that I am craving or convienence. I don't get in from work till 6 so I only get an hour to see my oldest boy before he goes to bed. I then have to make dinner for me and the wife and as the week goes on I become more reliant on convienence food.

Now that I have just read this back it seems that I am moaning a bit. Maybe I just have to get on with it

No you are not moaning just struggling and lack of sleep won't be helping. The pizzas cook in the oven so you could stick it in while you are haivng the hour with your little boy. Or have you a slow cooker? Well worth getting one it is just a case of bunging some stuff in and leaving it and lovely meal ready, ideal for these cold times

Thanks he is very cute if I do say so :D

Is that your way of saying you think you're cute too? haha! ;)

are you eating pizza because its easy or because you are craving bad foods or because you are getting through the day and feeling ravenous so eating whatever comes your way?

if its the first then get yourself some ready meals in - WW / any BGTY supermarket alternatives plus some frozen veg / fresh bagged veg which you can stick in microwave for a few minutes and voila - healthy tea.

If its the second, i would say like Irene said get the WW alternatives or make your own! You can get the little pizza bases at supermarkets - spread with some passata, chop up some wafer thin ham and some red pepper and sprinkle with some half fat cheese and there ya go - easy as pie much lower calorie pizza.. or if you can afford it, even grab yourself a chinese or something - any of your chow meins are pretty low as you dont need to count extras for your rice etc..

and if its the third, then try eating more at lunchtime to see you through a bit longer when you get in..

and above all - PLAN! Give yourself 5 minutes to roughly plan meals for your next day - makes it so much easier if you already know whats on the menu as you dont have to think, you just have to do! :)

Thanks Irene. This has been helpful.

Being a guy I tend not to multitask so its very much "play with Lucas, put him to bed, make dinner". thinking about it I should just put some things in the oven earlier

:) Hi, Overeating happens to me on the evening too, I get over it by using the weight watcher snacks ie: biscuits, crackers and (low fat)phili cheese, Cook some95% Fat free sausages and leave in the fridge! Even if this takes you over your points it is no way as much as a pizza. Works some times any way haha.

Yes, don't see anything wrong with that :D

I think I am just struggling in general. i wouldn't say I am starving when I eat. I am not craving anything in particular I am just looking for something that I can have with little or no effort.

I realise this is not the case and to be honest at least having a rant about it has helped me.

I am not realy a snacking person, my main problem was/is portion size. If I have a full portion I will eat it, I could only eat half and not be hungry but if it is all in front of me then I will eat it all

if I get hungry before i have time to cook our eve meal i have a cup a soup (1.5points) instead of a cuppa and it sees me through until ive cooked dinner.

I would suggest a slow cooker as well. I used to use mine all the time and my friend is getting me a new one as a wedding present.

Thats totally what I do! I now make up batches of food and put them in lock and lock containers so they keep for ages (QVC selling 15 of the perfect size ones just now for £15) Then when I get in from school I can just shove one of my meals in the oven! Its all good! I miss takeaways so much tho! They're fabulous!! Although dominos put a note through my door with my own name on it saying that they were missing me and would like to offer me a free pizza....mortified! lol!! I felt like I was to blame for the whole credit crunch in dominos land!!
lol

Can just imagine you taking that soooo personally...did you give in to their manipulative tactics?

On the pizza front Manny - if portion size is not your problem, then cut the pizza before you cook it then only cook what you want (probably a third of it) or choose lower points pizza's. I got one at Asda (a veggie one) and the whole thing which would easily feed two was 14.5 points and its wasn't a WW one.

the other ideas on here are also great....food for thought ;)

Of course I took it personally!! They are worried about their profit as I am no longer eating there!! I asked Chloe if I should have it and she said no and muttered something about marketing ploy or something...daft dog!

You want to listen to that dog of yours - talks sense I think

Sorry Manny - will get off your diary now.

Don't worry hijacking my thread :D

Anyway I have decided that I have been messing about for too long now and I am going to get back on the WW wagon full time tomorrow. Spoke to the wife and told her not to let me have takeaway until saturday night. So we went to Tesco (what a nightmare) and have all my meals planned for the week.

I am working away out of the office at the moment. Can anyone tell me the points in a Starbucks skimmed latte (venti) and a mozzarella panini. I have given myself 14 points for lunch today so I hope it is less than that.
