I squirreled away £490 last month by jiggling things around.
My squirreled account balance over the last few months is £1,682.98.I've saved this just by buying only food I need each day and no impulsive buying.I'm not going to buy dvd's or cd's any more as I buy them but never watch or listen to them.I have a pile that isn't opened.I always have the radio on while reading,TV hardly goes on now.My cupboards of spices etc is nearly empty. They will only be replaced once I have used them all up.I have something like 5 diff chicken with seasoning and I only have chicken with that on once a week so why do I need all those jars.Fish I have twice a week but only put seasoning on once a week yet got 5 jars of fish seasoning.
I never thought I could save money as I always took advantage of 'offers' and if I wanted not needed something I would always buy it.
OH has an account where £600 gets transferred into and this pays for petrol and anything he needs or wants to buy. Most months he saves £300 and anything he puts on credit card he pays off every month.
I think because OH is being made redundant next year I am more determined then before to save as much as I can.
It can be done and you can still enjoy life.
EDIT: Went out into the lean to and the plastic roof has a hole in it.
Now I need to find money for that somewhere. Will go on Freecycle later and see if anyone has a spare piece lying around they don't need.Or another site I like using is Streetlife.
