Me, Myself & I... Lower carb, fasting, real live foods

I've been listening to Paul McKenna for last week (I think!) I get into bed and turn it on ., I wake up at the end of trance And turn it off and back to sleep.. My sleep has been so much better., lol

Tonight it seems to have worked lol I can't finish my dinner :( I had double on my plate ., long may it last !

Dinner tonight was home made baked beans (haricot beans cooked in pressure cooker) I had a small bowl, plus a mix of courgette spirals with single cream, chicken stock (I made) and wee bit of roast chicken, plus some homemade ricotta :)

Breakfast : 2 egg omelette with soft goat cheese and cherry tomatoes

Have my acupuncture appt this morning, am tired as OHs phone was not on silent and some silly people text and phone him at 3am Grrr stupid marketing calls number started 0092.. Looked it up is Pakistan .. It's me who wakes up not OH! He just rolls into my side of the bed snoring and gets cross when I shunt him back on his side!! Sooo Hope the acupuncture doesn't make me feel worse! It normally makes me feel tired anyway afterwards.,

Yesterday I managed to go to curves gym and did 2 circuits HRM said 239kcals in 26 mins

Also in last month my energy levels have been better - I'm assuming it's the adrenotone supplements and or changing from normal salt to sea salt - didn't realise that salt in the uk was not iodized in New Zealand salt has iodine added. Have ordered some kelp tablets too ., as lack of iodine in the diet can cause similar symptoms to how I've been feeling too ., weird but true / anyway I'm starting to feel better mentally too less brain fog.

I will also get my blood test back today too
 
Blood test shows every thing normal., did discuss the fact that I think that the adrenotone supplement is helping as my energy levels are better than they were 4 weeks ago. The doctor said to continue with the supplements as it seems they are helping - I told him about being awake for 24/36 hours (being a birth partner) and still feeling ok energy levels wise - tired of course but not exhausted, like I would have been before.

Also asked about salt/ Iodine levels and uk salt doesn't have iodine added to it. Doctor said it is possible that changing to sea salt has helped as well. But that my blood test shows normal levels of sodium.

Acupuncture has helped, but is achy now, going to pick up son2 from nursery and then have a hot shower and rest for a hour or so. The acupuncture often makes me feel sleepy.
 
Ended up eating so much yesterday afternoon. Just that feeling I want something and can't figure out what it was .. It often happens before weigh day and I would call it stabbing myself in the back :(

In the other hand I seem to do it on days I have acupuncture which is on Fridays. was craving chocolate and sweets which since using a magnesium supplement has really reduced my cravings .. So perhaps the acupuncture triggers/ stresses my body and lowers my blood sugar levels causing me to crave carbs and sugars ..

Yesterday's WI was a STS today's is 300g gain !

I really need to eat less every day, portion control, mindful eating..

Have not had so much milk or cheeses this week to see if it was effecting my gains / losses ., but nope I think it's just plain old I'm eating too much!
 
I found that acupuncture put my body under tonnes of stress.

I know you like to weigh daily but (as we all know too well lol) fat loss isnt that simple, daily fluctuations are just your water/glycogen stores going up and down, it may be more beneficial to try focus on taking your weight loss over a month; I know its not that easy to refocus but stress can have a big effect on weight so please try not to stress over those numbers :)

Dont put too much pressure to put on yourself, maybe cook your favourite paleo meals so you know you've got a fab meal coming!
I find I snack less if I'm looking forward to my meals.

Am feeling bit depressed as my weight is creeping up again.. I know I shouldn't weigh daily, have reduced it to every other day ., I kind of expected it to be up today cause I ate too much yesterday in the snack department and had a late ish night and then a disturbed sleep ..

Aww hun, looks like acupuncture really throws your body out, do you find you get a loy of benefits from it otherwise?

Lack of a good night's sleep can have such an effect on our bodies, sounds like you need to squeeze in a power nap today (easier said than done with little ones though). I'm trying to sort my sleep out; earlier nights and whatnot. It sounds like the hypnosis was helping you sleep better so I'd blame the acupuncture for royally messing you up :)

Seriously, please try not to worry about this mornings weigh in too much, maybe try to conscientiously snack less this next week or maybe try a 100% primal week? Do you find you can stick to specific rules better (I always want to rebel lol even if I set them myself ho-hum) or are you like me and likely to rebel?

Be kind to your body today, its obviously suffering from the acupuncture

Have you started on the Paul McKenna cd?
I think you need to get your body right and then focus on the weight, perhaps trying to do both at the same time is having a knock on effect? X
 
I have been using the Paul McKenna cd and yes I think it's helping - Thursday night when I was listening my OH came to bed 1/3 way through and brought me out of the trance and last night was just too drained to do the trance; so next time it's early to bed with cd before sleep :)..,

my OH upgraded his phone contract and part of the free gift was some skullcandy head phones ., wow they are lovely .. Block out the sound of the football from the TV downstairs and I can only here what ever I'm playing from my phone :)

I think I need to change my acupuncture appt to a Wednesday midweek then I have a chance to recover from the session and maybe still loose weight come sat morning :)
 
Ok been AWOL .. Thoughts are eating more carbs (this is only rice, potatoes, dried fruit) is perhaps helping my tiredness energy levels .. But I'm not loosing weight :( I'm staying the same or gaining.

So I'm going to take rice and potatoes out again starting today. I weighed in this morning The scales show a small loss, but my weight is still way up! official WI is tomorrow.

I've not done any exercise this week as both my boys have been sick.. They will be back at school on Monday
 
Yes I do like sweet potato and have it sometimes .. Need to have it more often - just me being lazy to prepare and put it in the oven
 
WI this morning 600g (1.3lbs) off which is good :) considering mid week I was way up!
90.9kg today..

This weekend is my OHs birthday so am making lemon cheesecake (wheat free lol) and a pavlova .. Prob going out for lunch on Sunday too

Boys are feeling so much better so back to school with them on Monday .. Yay!
 
Just been out for a lovely Indian meal .. Can't see me eating any dinner either lol didn't have any rice but .. Had a few popadums and 1/4 of a naan bread .. I forgot :( was chatting and ate with out thinking about it.

Breakfast was bacon with a banana
Bit of cake - devils primal chocolate cake - taste of a gluten free lemon cheese cake
Few dried fruit, nuts and seeds mix

Think that's me done for today .. ;)

Going to look at doing a few IF days / or skipping breakfast and start eating later .. Need to get my weight moving down again, need to watch my snacking ..

Plan for Monday is Kettlebell class after dropping kids at school, maybe doing the class in a fasted state - I have in the past with no problems and then eating a late lunch .. But plenty of water
 
Yes when I've got time .. Last week with the boys sick just too tired to do it.. I think it does work if you do it properly .. :)
 
This morning didn't go to plan; had to check with doctor if ok for son1 to go back to school, (it was) so late to school today .. Therefore missed my Kettlebell class .. But I did last till lunch time fasting ..

Tomorrow plan is to go to curves for my workout :) and fast till lunch time again ..

Tummy is a bit puffy from the popadums and bit of naan bread .. I know they have wheat but just plain "didn't think about it" at the time .. Mindful eating is what it's about !
 
Scales are way up :( I did start my antibiotics for my tooth infection yesterday ., I get tooth infections under where my wisdom tooth used to be.. No tooth but I get an infection where it was ..weird really! Dentist is referring me to hospital to be looked at see why it keeps happening
