Me, Myself & I... Lower carb, fasting, real live foods

I tend to just adapt other receipes including the HD book to fit with my eating style :)

Love love the HD spicy bean stew - I use butter beans and more paprika - low fat/ low GI would be good with kidney beans too :) as a lunch meal is fab!!

I tried the cauliflower rice - I microwaved my frozen cauliflower and then chopped it into little tiny wee bits - was really good.. Thanks for that suggestion!!

well done honey, is that your lowest weight now?

Almost, I was lower (84 kgs) but only for one day and then it went back up again the next day.. So am almost there..

My interesting thought for today is thus;
In the last 2 days I ate quite a lot of "cake" within my cal limits tho..

I have been experimenting with a cake for my OH's birthday that is wheat free not that he's aware of this (hehehe)

if I normally eat the amount of cake that i have in the last few days.. I put on weight the next day.. (Drum roll!!) I have not put weight on (I continued to lose) with my quinoa cake. My No wheat cake.. Therefore it not the sugar that makes me gain/ retain weight- which was my previous thoughts.. and neither does quinoa!!

It must be the wheat that makes me weigh heavier the next day..

Yes I weigh every morning, and I know that if I eat Chinese, potatoes, cake I gain weight the next day and it takes 2-3 days to get back to my start weight of "whatever" before I ate the offending item..

I am not going start eating cake every day lol just know that I can change my sons cupcakes recipe and that I will not have an issue with gaining weight if I have 1 or 2 sometimes ;)

I've just made some scotched eggs with pork sausage mix, rolled in a mix of Parmesan and coconut flour and spices. Ok I have fried them this time but next time I'm going to just try baking them in the oven like the hairy dieters do with their chicken breasts :) that's if they taste nice lol

The scotch eggs taste really lovely. Found a recipe that uses lean pork mince going to try that one next time and bake in the oven :)

Mmmm bit risky but hoping I get away with it :). Was my 1st time making them - now I know how I can make it lower fat :)

Yes me too :) is something my dad used to buy us as a treat when I was a kid - now just need to reduce the fat in them!

Had orange in the loo this morning - know it them there scotch eggs lol or maybe the KFC hot wings I had for dinner - no chips eaten (had just 1) proud of myself for that! As I love hot chips on a wet, cold day! Had dinner in town as a treat for kids - buying OHs b-day presents and cards after school

I've not had pork since I had my first tango experience. It was bad! :( why not try them with the weight watchers sausages or similar which we know are xen friendly.
Kids are odd. My kids don't consider KFC or mcDs to be a treat meal. It's considered crap food in our house and only to be eaten if there are no other options at all

I don't normally have issues with pork, but think the sausage mince i bought is prob more fatty, then I fried them in oil lol.. Next time will bake them OH really liked them and said would be good for his lunch :)

My kids are young enough that for them nuggets and chips are a treat, as we don't eat nuggets or fish fingers at home, with mcDs it's also the toy that they get.. I prefer KFC over mcDs as at least the chicken is real chicken, I get them a breast piece and take the skin off

Give my kids a choice of mcDs and Chinese - they would both choose Chinese, but is more pricy.. My oldest really likes subway - but at the moment is growing his front teeth back in, and has issues biting stuff, so has trouble eating subway rolls.. Otherwise I would goto subway..

I prefer them to eat home cooked meals, but we were in town so late we had to have something :)

Yay I found some extra lean pork mince in sainsbury's. it is 3.9g fat per 100g 123 cals per 100g - will make a pork stuffing mix
Onions cooked, herbs/ spices and use that to wrap round the eggs and then coconut flour crumb mix and bake in oven..

Just been out for my OHs birthday, Chinese

Starters: crispy seaweed, chicken skewers, chicken wings, spring roll, pawn toast
Entree: crispy duck and rice pancakes - had 3 pancakes and some more duck
Main: chicken with bamboo shoots, green beans in garlic sauce, green chicken curry (no sauce)
Desert: banana frittata with ice cream

Had a little of each of the above - am happy I didn't feel the need to eat any of the rice or noodles - ate loads of the stir fried green beans
Shared a desert so had 1/2 a banana frittata and a 1/4 of a ice cream scoop

I feel full but not stuffed! I have put in diary that it was 1500 cals but really have no idea :)

I am pleased that I didn't have to think at all about my decision not to eat the rice or noodles - I just didn't want them. In the past I would have eaten loads fried rice.

Will see how hungry I am tomorrow - and eat according to my hunger signals. Breakfast will def be FD seeded porridge with a sliced banana or prunes

Also will be interested to see how much my weight fluctuates tomorrow morning - as normally I would put on 500g - 1kg after a Chinese meal.
