MinnieMel is nolonger considers herself a CDer. One final post.

Forgot to post my three positives (I'll put this in both diaries):

1) Sun is out and has been. Love this!
2) Caught up on Minis diaries (fell so far behind and totally missed out the peanutbutter drama).
3) Still hanging in there with the diet (not 100%, but managing), looking at Beck again, looking at Flylady again, and have printed up the new fitness schedule so I can Plan my Fitness.

Its been a frosty but sunny day here too. And I feel like I am slowly but surely getting somewhere.

Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Hi Eggie --

Its been a frosty but sunny day here too. And I feel like I am slowly but surely getting somewhere.

I practiced my piano for a long time today -- and felt like I was making some progress with understanding the fingering, etc. (I only started taking lessons a few months ago and have not been good about practcing.)

I also got the top shelf in the large sliding cupboard, another cupboard, and a book shelf in the utility area cleaned and sorted. And, I organised a lower cupboard (moving the bread maker out and into the sliding cupboard).

Still needing to do loads of housework and "spring cleaning and clearing". I checked on ebay to see if it was worth trying to ebay some Wilton cake pans, but it seems like it is not. However, I found a Bugs Bunny cake pan, and my DD thinks she may want a Looney Tunes themed birthday party.

Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Well, tomorrow they have Pajama bowling at the base's bowling centre. I think DD and her friend want to go to this -- we did it once last year.

Other than that -- I am hoping that my DH will go and pick up the washing machine. That hinges on whether or not the van is fixed. If it is -- DH will have to take the old one to the tip -- then drive to Feltwell to pick up the new one. I think that he and DS can go and do this.

Other than that -- DD has lots of homework and I'll be helping her with that. It is a three day weekend for DH (Martin Luther King Day), so he and I may go for a steam/sauna thing at the local leisure centre on Monday whilst DD is in school.

Today's Post Copied from my Gold Diary:

Morning All --

I will start with JackieN's (whose diary on the Slimpod forum) prescribed three positives:

1) The sun is out and making the frost glitter and that is very pretty, plus my heat is working :) -- so I can enjoy the frost from the comfort of the lounge.

2) I decided to call the shop and ask them to transfer the washer after inventory (so, I will not get it until late January at the soonest). I think it is silly to make DH and DS spend a day and a tank of gas go and get it, when they will bring to less than a mile from our house. I can go the launderette a few more times -- it is not expensive and it is fast.

3)I finally sent the owner of the house an email detailing some of the problems. (I had to because the fence between this one and the neighbour's blew over in the big wind a couple of weeks ago -- and I knew I'd be getting a call from them. I did.) He emailed right back, and agreed to have me get two estimates for the list of repairs (one at a time) and I think we may get somethings fixed (nothing has been done... except by us for over two years). :sigh:

Well, not been very good re: the diet or fitness. :sigh: Good with the water, though, so that is something. Today will be a better day. I am worried that I will not have lost ANYTHING this week and that would be unfair to my BLUE TEAM members.

I printed up the list of fitness classes at the local leisure centre. So, I will sit down and plan my South Beach (810/1000 friendly) dinners and fitness this weekend and then shop to the list -- and book the fitness classes online (so, I've paid for them). I will give the class info to CFF and IF she wants to come along with me she can... but I am not waiting on her to commit.

I am trying to get back into the FlyLady mode, too. Do not like living in CHAOS. :sigh:

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Happy anniversary for this week Mel! So sorry I missed it, been AWOL a bit. I have scanned your posts but seemed to miss that one!

My package arrived today too, so thank you for that massively!

I love the positivity in your post! I'm sitting in the warmth of my house looking at both the gleaming frost AND my broken neighbors fence! I may be able to get my husband to fix it.

By the way im in fly lady mode! In the middle of scabbing the kitchen and knee deep in laundry but thought I'd have a mini break!

Thanks Nat!

I am glad it came, and sorry it took so long. They were out locally and I thought I was going to have to drive to Lakenheath, but then they restocked. But, remember to give her 1/2 or even 1/4 a tab. My sister weighs about 110 pounds and a whole tab gave her weird dreams.

I need to get going on the cleaning. I am so hoping that if I can make myself DO IT... then I'll get a roll and keep going. (A girl can dream... and my dreams are rather pathetic, no?).

How are things are work? I'll check your diary for this.

Mel

No change in work really, I managed to get some temporary recruitment approval so we are covering the vacant posts just about!

I think I will err on the side of caution and give her just a quarter of the tablet, I don't want her to have nightmares, just get an hour or two sleep!

Thanks again for all the trouble you went to! I owe you one ;)

Did you do anything nice for your wedding anniversary?

Did you do anything nice for your wedding anniversary?

We bought a real piano a couple of weeks ago, went out to lunch and to see Iron Lady (DH took a day off of work... unheard of). I have an IOU for a cruise, trip or something when the weather is better and I want to go. DH also bought be flowers, balloons and champagne.

Wow! Now that's spoiling! Has your husband always been that good?

Our anniversary is on the 6th of feb. Somehow I don't think we will be getting a piano as much as I would live one!

No, not at all. DD has been taking piano lessons for about 6 months now (she had thm a few years ago, but that that tutor took a job and we've been on this one's waiting list). Anyway, DD's tutor had openings for adult students during the day and so I started lessons. I realised how difficult it was to practice on a keyboard, and so told DH that she (DD)really needs a piano. So, we got one.

If it were "just" for me -- I doubt we would have gotten one. However, the piano cost less than the last trumpet we bought for DS. (He was first trumpet in his school's band -- he was quite good and considered majoring in music at one time.)

I hope you have a lovely anniversary.

Well, it is time to put on my PJs -- the blue doggie print ones that both DD and I have. We are going Pajama Bowling on the Air Force base. The last time we did this we were the only people there in our jammies. You get unlimted bowling and shoes for $10.00 (great deal) -- but if you wear PJs you get that 1/2 price -- so $5.00 a person!!! That is about three pounds for shoe rental and UNLIMITED Bowling from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.!!!

We've invited three of her friends and their moms. Only two of the friends are going (the moms claim to have "other obligations"). ;) I think DD and her friends will have fun! I am not a big bowler, but I will participate by wearing my PJs whether or not I bowl.

I should call my friends CFF and OH -- who like to bowl and see if they feel like coming up. CFF wore some feetie PJs for Halloween and went as a big baby. It was very cute as she is nearly 6 feet tall.

PJ bowling sounds great. I am sitting on the sofa as normal, while OH snores 'keeping me company' and watching drivel. I need a hobby. Actually I need to get on with my course. Kick me up the bum regularly, I need it!

Hi Eggie,

What course? And consider yourself kicked!

PJ bowling sounds great. I am sitting on the sofa as normal, while OH snores 'keeping me company' and watching drivel. I need a hobby. Actually I need to get on with my course. Kick me up the bum regularly, I need it!

Friend 1 was dropped off here by her dad at 7:45 p.m., we picked Friend 2 up at 7:55 p.m. and got to the bowling centre right about 8:00 (we only a mile from the post).

We were (at first) the only ones in our jammies. We got a good laugh from the staff (I know them all pretty well... my DS worked there when he was in high school). A little later three young women showed up a those fluffy pj bottoms that are quite fashionable.

There were loads of other people there -- they were just not dressed for the 50% discount! lol

The girls bowled, had some food and ice cream and finished up about 10 p.m. -- when then drove them home and went home ourselves. DH and I were tired -- and we did not even bowl. The whole night cost us about 20 pounds for the three girls.

As DD changed schools in September (they all went up to secondary school) -- she is no longer with her friends, so it was nice for her to spend some time with a couple of them together. It was a good night for all.

Today will be homeWORK, houseWORK and (hopefully) some WORKingout.

Hi Mel - PJ bowling sound like a great laugh. Glad it was such a cheap night out as well. Hope you get all your work done today. xx

Posting my three positives:

1) DD and friends had a fab time doing the pajama bowling last night.

2) DH is helping DD with her maths homework (and not me).

3) The sun is trying to come out -- and I am rooting for it.

Now, to get to work.

I have done DD's reading homework with her - thats as much as i can take in one sitting as I have no patience and she cannot concentrate for more than a page. I know she is only 5, the fault is mine

And OH has done her shape and counting homework with her. God help the poor kids when they both have homework.

DS is 20 and I have been there for him forever... even now. I help him pick his classes, order his text books, I help him with his research (if needed), and proof his papers, etc.

And, I have done most things with DD, too. And, she has been a lot of work because of her hearing problems.

But, DH can help with maths -- so, I made him do this.

DD has two big projects due next week. One is and art/music thing -- and DH will be no help with that (he has no talent or training).

I was teacher back in the U.S. -- so, of course, all of this sort of thing, plus the household stuff, etc. falls on to me.

I am really annoyed with DH atm. He said he and DS would haul the broken washing machine to the tip today - and they blew it off. He might do it tomorrow, but I was hoping they would go and get the new washing machine "as a surprise". It is an American holiday, so it'd be possible. I doubt they will unless I really throw a fit. Why can't they just do the right thing, without being bullied into doing it. I am so fed up atm.
