monday morning at home weigh in

Hi Kirsty,

Thanks hun, baby is definitely a good excuse but I must admit I've always commented on women who blame their weight on baby weight 6 months after the birth and I'm determined not to be that woman! So here goes.... x

Well done Kirstym, MargaretF and Suespain - good losses going on here.

And welcome back acg200587 and good luck.

It's 12 months today since I started back on this losing weight lark and I am not a happy bunny this morning, to say the least!

It's a gain of 1¼ lb since last Monday for me.

I know its only carb bloat - I had roasties as well as yorkshires with my roast beef yesterday - and I know it'll probably be gone again tomorrow but I'm still mad at myself.

Off to bridge now and I just hope we do better there as last week was a disaster.

1st weigh in

Pleased with my 1.5lb weight loss as I've not been an angel.

Back to my Personal Trainer tonight and year-end over at work so I should have a better week this week.

Good luck for the next week everyone :D

Hi and welcome...I've been struggling with my baby weight for a while, my baby is 23!!!!! :D

Good luck

Morning all hope all the weigh in's go well. I am up early as school goes back where I live so my 8yr old daughter was up early and very excited about going back. Just did my weigh in and am delighted that I have managed to lose 2lbs can't stop smiling as last week was a bit up in the air with no electricity for 3 days so was sometimes just grabbing what I could to eat. Goodluck to you all i hope you all managed to lose.
Oh and Moppet(sheesh as well) I may just be the oldest Slipknot fan known hahahah.

Morning all :) 2.5lbs off this week yey!! It feels so good to be back on plan!! That means I have lost the 1lb xmas/NY gain and some more on top :)

Also means I have now got my stone and a half loss :) and my BMI has dropped below 30 - a good week I feel :)

Good luck everyone!!! xx

Hey Pommette, don't get mad, get even!! You'll kick that gain in the butt by next week. Your stats to date are fab. Hope you win at bridge x :)

Didn't win at bridge either!!!!

Me too please!

Hi! Could i join the Monday at home weigh in? First weigh in was yesterday and lost 4lbs. Slightly disappointed to be honest as i usually have a bigger loss the first week and have gone from a bottle of wine a day to none at all :sigh: Look forward to getting to know eberyone and share your weight-loss journeys!

Welcome to the team :)

Ooh you sound like a girl after my own heart ......... :party0036:Such a shame it's so many syns hehe!!

4lbs is a great loss hun - making big changes will probably come as a shock to your body so may take a while to adjust! Also this time don't forget it's a lifestyle change not a diet (cheesy I know but soooooo true :))

I look forward to reading about all those losses you are going to have :D K x

Back Again!

Well I haven't been here since August...completely fell off the wagon and didn't get back on till this morning! Weighed myself and weigh 14stone 10lbs and at 5ft nothing that is 4stone 10lbs from the weight I think I could be comfortable at and maintain. I am going to start properly from Monday 16th as that is when my household will be back to normal and to its usual routine. It's going to be a long journey but one I need to take the first steps of. Loved this forum back in July/August and although I think a healthy eating, low fat programme will be what I aspire to, I really like the 'Red' days from Slimming Word. I will weigh in here on Monday morning if that is ok:)

Hi Sue and Pommette! I too live in Spain, do you know if gazpacho is ok to have on SW? I absolutely love the stuff and wasnt sure of syn value or anything like that?

Hi Rachael, great to have another person in Spain. I'm afraid I don't know about bought gazpacho but I'm sure in one of my SW recipe books there is a gazpacho receipe, will try and dig it out for you.

Hi Racheal, here it is

Creamy Gazpacho;
25 mins plus chilling, serves 4, free on green and original

1lb 2oz ripe plum or vine tomatoes
1 small cucumber, peeled
1 green pepper, halved and deseeded (in spain I don't use a whole one!)
3 spring onions, chopped
1 small red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
3 1/2 oz very low fat natural yogurt
7fl oz cold water
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Garnish
finely diced tomato, cucumber, yellow pepper and red onion
finely chopped coriander or parsley
very low fat natural yogurt

Immerse tomatoes in bowl of boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove and peel away the skins. Roughly chop tomatoes, cucumber and green pepper and place in a food processor with the spring onions, chilli, garlic, wine vinegar, yogurt and water. Transfer to a food processor and blend until smooth.

Pour blended soup into a large bowl and season to taste. Cover and chill in fridge for several hours.

To make garnish, mix the diced vegetables with the herbs and place in small individual serviing dishes. Put yogurt in a separate bowl. Serve the gazpacho, ladle it into chilled bowls. Let guests help themselves to the garnishes

Sue - thanks for the recipe. I'm gonna try that as I love Gazpacho and t'other half hates it. But as I nearly alwasy have soup for lunch this will make a nice change.

Rachael - where abouts are you? Sue and I are both on the Southern Costa Blanca near Torrevieja!

Also have you tried the Superspeed Tomato and Baked bean soup? When I first did it I wasn't so keen but I've been playing around with the recipe for a while and I now love it.

Recipe Here

I found this tasted too much of baked beans the first time I made it.
So I now add 500 ml of passata AS WELL. And I now love it!
This makes about 6 large portions which freeze well.

It's free on Green & EE - and even on Red days it is only a few syns for the 1/6 tin of baked beans.

Hi Pommette, thanks for the soup recipe, will try that one tomorrow. Have not been sticking to plan for last couple of weeks - I know my weigh in on Monday won't be good! Am going to be 100% from tomorrow onwards - for a fortnight at least - so the soup will be a good start tomorrow lunchtime with a chicken dinner for tea.

Hi Sue - me neither. I've been all over the place since xmas and have actually called a halt for a few weeks tonight when I had a reverse light bult moment!

I have been at this losing weight lark for over 5 years - albeit not for ALL of them, just 2 and a bit! Never in all that time have I been obsessive about food or snacked on rubbish. Well this week I have been doing both and it has been driving me and t'other half crazy.

So I am having a pause for a few weeks and see if I can get this obsession out of my head. So I probably won't post my WIs for the next couple of weeks - but I'll still be on here cheering everyone on.

Morning - another one from Spain here although on extended hols for a few weeks - how I miss my Pasteleras yoghurts.
Gazpacho is my favourite stand by soup - I add 1 tsp cumin powder to mine and sometimes a little chilli (like my spices).
Also like a little bread whizzed into it so have to syn that but not too bad.
No scales at the moment so having to rely on the tape measure but hopefully when I get back will be :bliss:and not
Trying to be good and thankfully the wine is awful where I am !!!

Hi ladies! I near to Torrevieja, in Punta Prima, what a small world eh lol. Thanks very much for the recipes, going to try them out today so I have something a little different to take to work tomorrow. I get to the point where i am just totally sick of bloomin salad so this shall be a nice treat! Good luck for tomorrow everyone!! xx
