Chicken sounds delish, I must get more creative with salads

Morning ML... Loving your positive zone focus! Amazing !

And that chicken recipe just made my mouth water! I keep forgetting sesame oil and it makes things SO delicious ... Will you post the recipe on the recipe section? Xx

Sure thing Di, I shall get to it later. The sesame oil really made a difference - I've done the same thing cooked in regular oil, which is still yummy but not as wow.

Well I ate like a gannet yesterday. I think the combo of cold weather and lots of work just makes me want to sit and pick. All on plan but mega high cals.

Edam and peanut butter

Venison and zero noodles

5 spice chicken

Almond cake

Hot choc with soya milk/cream mix

Phew. Tummy feeling a bit bloated this morning.

I have some hake to cook - not really sure what I'll do with it.

Wowzers that 5 spice chicken sounds so good!! I live stuff like that, havin that tonight i think!!!

Have a fan day hun, hope tums feeling better soon xxxx

Hi any idea where I will find your almond cake recipe? I can see your almond bread recipe on recipe thread but not the cake? Thanks hon :)

Almond cake is the same as almond bread but with sweetener and almond essence (or vanilla or whatever you prefer) added - you can also add milk or cream to let down the mix a little - it should be fairly smooth before microwaving.

Eta:

microwave almond cake:

40g almond flour
1 egg
Small pinch of baking powder
Cinnamon or almond or vanilla essence
Sweetener
Dash of alpro.

Micro for 2 mins, yummy. I've used the same recipe for little cakes done in the oven too.

Food yesterday:

30g Edam, spoonful peanut butter, small handful hazelnuts

Pork belly, spring onion

Bite or two of pan fried hake

Small amount of roast beef

Plus lots of tea, some cream and a mug of bouillion. It felt like more, I think because the beef, Edam, peanuts and hazelnuts weren't on my original plan and it felt like I was snacking all the time. I don't know. Nothing I eat seems to be hitting the spot right now - must be the settling back in phase.

Mood is in my boots right now, sigh.

Morning ML, thanks for posting recipe for almond cake, definitely going to try it today , how did you find the hake ? If I don't season hake well I sometimes find it too fishy, if you know what I mean!

Tasted nice but was so full of tiny bones that I gave up on it, unfortunately.

((Hugs)) moonlight - hope you have a better day. Shame about the bones xxx

Oh must try the almond cake.. I wonder if it would work with a dash of lemon flavour? I think it might.

I hope you have a good week xx

I have actually made it with lemon flavour several times and it's lovely. Banana and cinnamon is another of my favorites.

Food today

Creamy drink
40g cheddar

Roast pork, leeks, courgette, celeriac, cheeky slice of carrot.

25g hazelnuts
More creamy drink (alpro with added cream).

Morning, as usual your menus sounding great, I quilt await today's menu with interest.

Really? I think my menus look dull and terrible most days! today's plans are yummy though.

I usually write up at the end of the day, but here's what I have planned and we'll see if I stick to it:

***********

2 hard boiled eggs mashed with butter and mayo

125g fillet steak, 100g scallops fried with spring onions

1/4 rotisserie chicken turned into sesame 5 spice chicken.

Plus lots of tea and a cream allocation.

*******

My ratios will look like this if I stick to it:

So let's hope I do - been struggling lately and reaching for some hazelnuts to snack on.

Already had the eggs which were yummy but will add spring onion to the mix next time. I'm going low on veggies for a few days (ate loads yesterday) just because I want to knock my carb cravings on the head.
