Amazing - both the photos and the inches! Well done:D

Delighted for you! Have tried so many times to slim for a holiday and failed miserably, it must be a wonderful feeling. X

It really is a great feeling, squish. Sorry to do this to you, but here is a low carb Swiss roll I just made (courtesy of moonlights recipe).

Don't worry! I can't get enough of cookery programmes, recipe books etc at the moment. Seems to help for some strange reason! Have an amazing holiday. X

Supersmileyme - The End of the First Bit

I just read a quote by Clare Balding in The Times magazine in which she says " I thought, I'd better go on a diet for the Olympics. But I never got round to it. Would it have mattered? If I had been half a stone lighter? No, actually, it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference".
That was the complete opposite of me starting this diary; after a health scare in April, when I knew for certain that I didn't have a life threatening awful disease, which would have meant that I could not go on my next dream trip, I knew I needed to get in shape for it. It would have made every bit of difference to me if we were off to Bali and I was feeling fat & frumpy. Of course it would not have made a jot of difference to anyone I met and spoke to there, they woud never have known me any different. However, I would have been so annoyed with myself for not making the effort to shift the weight, wear nice clothes and feel confident.
When I embarked upon Exante at the end of June, I was determined; I knew I was going to do it, and nothing & nobody would have tripped me up. I did have wobbles when my weight loss stalled, but through this site and my new lovely friend (the twin) I got through it. I am most proud of myself for using the time I wasn't eating to do the research I needed to be able to go from 3 Exante packs a day, to 3 low carb meals a day and not put on weight. I can't tell you exactly how much weight I have lost until the morning, because I realised that a crucial element to my success in transitioning from one way of eating to the other was not to get hung up on the scales. I am so very glad I did that, but I know I need to weigh in tomorrow in order to complete the first phase, and so that when I return I can tell how much I have put on whilst away, and how much I need to lose on the second phase.
The second phase is to get down to 9st 7lbs on low carb eating and having 2 fasting days per week. There is no time limit for it, I just want to see what it is like at the recommended weight for my height. The third phase will be life long maintenance.
I first started the huge change from a stressful job I hated, being overweight and generally unhappy back in April 2011. For me, the past 3 months has been the most enlightening. For the first time I feel I have found the way forward, with a sensible and manageable way of eating and living. This works, you just need to do the research and do the preparation. Oh, and find yourself a great friend who's going through the same things.

Brilliant loss - bet youre proud as punch. Have a fabulous holiday x

Just dropping in (a tad late!) to wish you all the best for a fabulous holiday. Well done on the 2 stones lost already, fantastic! xx

Hello everyone, I'm back from Bali. Haven't slept for two days, so apologise in advance for my incoherent ramblings! Bali was great, felt great for having lost the weight in advance. There were people around the pool of all sorts of shapes and sizes.
Did well with the low carbing until about half way through, then got a bit caught up on the ice cream desserts! Don't think I've put on too much whilst away. Read the new Atkins for a new you book whilst away and will be starting induction tomorrow.
I hardly know how to keep my eyes open, but I must until tonight to be back in routine asap.
Chilli, cauli rice and sour cream for tea, yummy.
I am so glad to be home.

I know you won't read this for another 8 days - but missing you - tough day today and I know you would have helped keep me centered and focused. Hope you are having a great time - i'm going to be abandoning you at Xmas shall tell all when you get home xx

Awww, that's a sweet message to come back to. Tell me where you're off to...

Good afternoon/evening. Glad you had a great time xx

Good morning lovely world. I've slept from 8 pm until 5am and feeling better. Have a groggy head and am still swaying like I'm on a plane, but that usually takes me a few days to lose anyway.

So, I'm thinkingof starting a new diary later and getting rid of this one now the while Bali thing is over. I'll call the new one 'This little piggy goes to Atkins' and put it in the Atkins section, ready to start induction.

I'm excited about it, can't wait to be back in ketosis and super pleased that my twin will be joining me. Hurrah, phase two begins!!

Ok, new diary in Atkins section so will ask for this to be closed now. Come and find me there. 'This little piggy goes to Atkins' is the name.
