My Diary

Too tempting, Alex, one mention of Mr V and I'm anybody's...
OK well I well and truly fell off the wagon over the weekend and ate everything in sight. I had 15 people here for dinner on Sunday but most of the food was supplied by others so I had no control over what was available and just ate it all. Then there were left overs..... I invited friends over on Monday, though,on the understanding that they weren't allowed to leave until all the food was gone. Yesterday I hoovered up extra chocolate but hubby has gone back to work today (the holidays are Mon and Tue here) and has taken EVERYTHING with him so there is nothing left. My Mum bought me a huge basket of fruit for Easter so that should help me along the way too.
Dress fitting was on Friday and went well, in fact we zipped the dress up (strapless), let go and it fell off right down to the floor. She has now pinned in handfuls of it and I have to go back in the next week or 2 to get it fitted again. She is also making a halter neck for it, should be good.
Given the bingeing I'm not going to weigh in this week, would just be too depressing, so I'll not weigh in until next Friday. Also the seamstress has told me not to lose any more weight, not sure what to do with that! Surely a few pounds isn't going to make that much difference to the fit of the dress, given that I'd be losing it all over and not in one specific place! Need to lose the Easter gain anyway.

Wow the dress just dropping off that is great!! With a halter neck even if you loose more it will stay up ;) and double sided tape does wonders :) lol

Lol no my bridesmaids dress had to be taken out due to being pregnant.. But the double sided tape was really use full lol

Brilliant re dress & I know any gain from the weekend will be shifted by your next weigh in. Onwards & downwards honey xx

Tape that is sticky both sides.. Does wonders for sticking seams together temporarily :)

I have another fitting next week so hopefully no tape required. Hopefully no more falling off either! I'm not going to be able to wear a bra underneath as she has started the halter neck straps from almost under my arms up towards my neck which doesn't follow the line of a halter neck bra. Strapless bras are no good to me at all but the dress is quite supportive. I did accuse her of using the straps to hide my fat bits (which is exactly what she was doing) but she is Polish and pretended not to understand me! When we first ordered the dress I tried on an 18 which almost fitted but not quite. I tried to persuade the woman in the dress shop to order the 18 anyway but she said no and ordered a 20 which is the one which is now falling off. I reckon now, apart from my boobs which never go away, that I'm a 16 all over, obviously depending on the fit. Woop!

Wow you must feel fab. I've just managed to get into a 16 & it feels fab. Esp coz it now means I can now shop at pretty much all the high street stores! I bet pple will be amazed when they see u in your dress at the wedding x x x

My query was what double sided tape had to do with bridesmaids dresses :)

Wohooo! on the size 16s KB :D It really does feel like the magic number that opens loads of doors for clothes shopping doesn't it?

When I was at Cheshire Oaks the other day with The Man, I went into Warehouse, which I would never normally do. I don't mind telling you that I felt so awkward that I was actually clenching my bum cheeks walking around! I felt like someone was about to tap me on the shoulder and say 'nothing for YOU in here!', but I gave myself a stern talking to, picked up a top that I liked, went into the changing room, tried it and guess what? It fitted!!
Admittedly, it was designed to be loose fitting (silk, batwing sleeve, floaty thing) but it felt great :D What wasn't so great was that it was still £30, reduced from £50, so I couldn't afford it :(

Anyway, enough of me (I might just re-post that on my own diary as motivation!) how's your weekend been? Hope all is well with you and yours :)

Thank you Alex but frankly at this moment I am a big fat greedy slob and at the rate I'm going the 16s will be long gone in no time. I have done nothing but eat for about 10 days now, everything that passes my nose including several carry outs, pizza etc. I haven't had such a binge for a very long time and I am having huge problems getting back on the wagon. The kids go back to school tomorrow so I'm hoping the routine of that will help. Big shop will be done tomorrow too which might make the choices better. Exercise is nowhere too but the school runs will be back which will force me out there. Not in a good place but I really need to drag it back before I burst out of the bridesmaid dress. I have got to do this!!

Hi guys. I too have been eating like a slob for the last few days and only started weightwatchers last wednesday!! So i'm picking up my prescription of xenical tomorrow and am extremely excited!! Getting married in March 2013 so it's now or never for me. Haven't been a size 16 since I had my little boy in 2004. That would be heaven!! Alex I have had that feeling so many times when you go into a shop and you can tell that the lady behind the counter is thinking..ha, you've got no chance love! :(...I remember asking where the inspire range was in New Look a few weeks back and the customer assistant said "we don't do that in this store, you'll have to go online for the big clothes". I was with my much skinnier friends and was a tad embarassed to say the least!! Good luck with the rest of your journeys guys and keep going you've done so well! xxxx

Thanks for popping by, deflator. A fresh start for me today (yet again) so lets do this together. Good luck with the start of Xenical, read the stickies here for lots of advice if you want to avoid side effects (and believe me, you do!)

Fresh start today sounds good. You can do this! Put the last few days behind you. Don't start undoing your good work x

Thanks, Sarah, but a few days was about ten. I'll not weigh in until Friday, would be too depressing, then I'll have to face what the scales say and get on with it.
On the upside I am well and truly back on the wagon (why do they make the seats so slippery??) and am going to be really strict and controlled, counting every single calorie, for the next few days until I get things properly under control. Eg I wouldn't normally count things like fresh tomatoes or cucumber but they are all going down now! Exercise will also be high on the agenda, I have done a school run this morning so 25 minutes walk, I pick him up again at 3 and then we'll walk to his piano lesson for half 3 and I will walk for half an hour while he's in there, then we'll walk home so that will be about an hour and 15 minutes or so, then I'll take the dog out again tonight. That's the plan anyway. I'll also fit in some arm exercises to minimise the bingo wings before the wedding.
So far today food is as follows:-
Breakfast (always a problem) Mullerlight yoghurt with an apple and a handful of raisins.
Banana mid morning.
Lunch Tesco light choices wrap with wafer thin ham, laughing cow extra light triangle, tomato, cucumber and pickled onions. Packet of Walkers baked crisps.
Dinner tonight will be a weight Watchers ready meal with extra veg.
I've had 2 litres of water so far, more to follow, a cup of decaf and will have some green tea later when the boys come in from school. One of my wee men has Coeliac disease and I find it very difficult to get weight on him so he has to eat little and often and as high calorie food as possible, very hard to have the stuff in the house and not eat it myself! Mind you, the advice from his dietician was "put butter on everything and give him at least one packet of crisps a day" I have chosen to ignore this advice, besides, the school food police would have a nervous breakdown, banned substances on the premises!!
That's all for now but I am going to be rambling often to try to keep me on the straight and narrow,

A great day today, food was all good (dinner ended up being WW shepherds pie with baked beans, a slice of bread and marg) and loads of walking all over the place. Long may it continue. I have a dress fitting tomorrow so hopefully my bingeing won't have had too much of a negative effect on that!

Another day dawns with a little bit of rain, first we've seen here during the day for a while. Won't stop me walking though! Plan for today, school walks as usual (today with a cello on my back) that will be about 50 minutes in total. Dress fitting at half ten, hope it's ok! Walk with the dog tonight for another hour or so, depending on family/dog/weather.
Breakfast so far has been a mullerlight with raisins, a litre of water with fresh lemon juice and a coffee. More later!
