My fishy week!

Very jealous. My first fishy week was only about 4 days, following a pretty crappy couple of days. At WI I was on my * week, and I gained 2.5lbs :(
I then had a full fishy week (and ate fish 18 times), exceeded the 1/3 SF every day, and got in alot of body magic - and I maintained. Was going to so a third and final fishy week, but have just gone back to my usual green days. I enjoyed the fishy week-and-a-half, but it felt to 'diety' to stick to for much longer, espcially as it didn't remotely have the desired effect. And cost a fortune !lol

That's a shame hun. I wonder if your body reacted to the new food as too 'diety' IYKWIM? And therefore held on to some reserves ... It will be interesting how going back to Green will affect you.

Good luck ;)

Thanks Ali x 3 years down the SW line and I STILL have no idea why my body reacts (or fails to react lol) how it does :-/

Oh dear, that is a shame, you stick to it, do all the right things and..... it doesn't work..... I was really dissapointed with my 1/2 lb - but at least it's the right way....hoping that it'll show this week.

Maybe green days are better for you, or maybe you didn't eat enough with the amount if body magic you did.
Just wondering did you do it as EE or red

Hi everyone :wavey:

Had salmon salad for lunch & the remainder of my prawn curry from yesterday, with a small side salad, for tea. Hope to do ok again this week for my WI tomorrow :fingerscrossed: haven't managed fish twice everyday this week, but have had at least once a day so :fingerscrossed: again. Bought a lovely piece of smoked river cobbler for tomorrow and only 95p too! :happy036: haha

Monday
B: smoked salmon & hb egg salad
sandwich
L: tuna & sardines in tom sauce salad
D: prawn pasta

Tuesday
B: cockles & rollmops
L: smoked salmon, roast beef & tuna salad
D: smoked cobbler, jacket spud, swede, broccoli, cauli & green beans

Hi twinkle toes - good luck for tomorrow
For your info - Asda are selling river cobbler (plain or smoked) 5 pieces in microwavable bags £3

Thanks Debridger :D

I see from your next entry that you had the smoked river cobbler tonight. Is it as tasty as smoked haddock?
Also, how did you cook your prawn pasta?
x

Hi Twinkle toes...well, apparantly the fish itself is a bit tasteless, Hollys Mum had the 'straight' one the other day, the smoked one has flavour, but that's 'cos it's smoked, not quite as 'meaty' as the haddock, but quite tasty

The prawn pasta was just thrown together (sometimes the best way)

I cooked onions, garlic, spring onions in frylight and a little water, added full HEA of 5 laughing cow light, and the prawns - I used little cooked ones, once l/cow melted in, thickened with quark and f/free natural yoghurt to make it creamy and added loads of herbs
Once all mixed in I added cooked wholemeal pasta (HEB)

I measured my pasta as I was on a red day...but would work for EE

I am going to do a fishy week from Thursday - I dont have enough for every meal, but will at least have fishy teas!!! :D

debridger - I did them as EE, as I was determined to stick to at least 1/3 SF, so thought I might as well go EE (and could still have pasta/rice easily). Although I usually do green days, and love having two HEbs (usually rolls or alpen lights), I strangely found I didn't miss the second HEb whilst on the fishy week(s), although I do when doing 'normal' EE days.
I'm comfiest doing green, so am back to that for now. I suspect you may be right about not eating enough. I'm certainly not aware of upping what I eat during strenuous physical periods - but maybe I should be making a conscious effort to do just that. I'll see how WI goes tonight and MIGHT do one final, full, fishy week.

Thanks Debridger :D Will try the prawn pasta that way.
I had my smoked cobbler at lunchtime and found it much tastier than the plain one, but not as meaty as haddock as you said. Cheaper tho', haha :D
Am having tomato & onion pasta with added tuna & veggies for dinner.
Weighing in later

Thanks Debridger - Well I can't complain I must say - another 3lbs bites the dust! Yippee!
Only 2 left to get to my first mini goal. Then I will aim for another 10% loss.
Happy happy :D
Celebrating with fresh strawberries & blackberries alongside a sliced banana & some thawed mixed fruit. Cheers!
Best of luck for tomorrow & to all imminently weighing in :cross:

Thanks very much Ali. I sure have, and long may they continue ;) Good luck to you for the morning :D
Could you please tell me how you added your award in?

Hi all, after losing only 0.5lbs last week I started a fishy week yesterday!

I had salmon for lunch and tea yesterday and smoked haddock for tea today. My fiance is already moaning about the smell though and choking me with the air freshener lol!

Good luck everyone, hope you all get the results that you are after xxx

mojomcl - how did WI go? hope there was some loss

Twinkle - wow, that's excellent - hope mine will be that good:fingerscrossed:

Caroline82 - welcome to fishworld ;)
try either baking in foil..... or microwave, they normally reduce the smells, but smoked haddock is one of the smelliest lol - good luck

1lb off, thanks for asking x

Wednesday:

L: Tuna, ham and sardine in tomato sauce salad
D: oven baked salmon, jkt pot (HEB) babybel light (HEA) loads of salad

Thursday: FINAL day of 2 week fish week
L: smoked cobbler salad with cottage cheese

OK, final day, WI.... stuck to my syns, in fact didn't exceed 50 for the week & saved 20 for this evening after WI, didn't sabotage it by drinking beer, maybe didn't have both HEA & HEB every day, but did most days........ lost one whole pound... ok, a loss, but I was expecting more....so, in 2 weeks, loss of 1.5lb - glad it's gone of course, but wasn't the wonder that others have seen......
Having said that, I really enjoyed the fish :)
