My journey to success.....

Hi all :wave_cry:

I am a newbie. I have been following the plan fully for two days now (though really on Sunday afternoon). I am generally feeling well and not experiencing any Atkins flu symptoms yet.... (maybe I shouldn't jinx myself :rolleyes:).

I have stepped on the scales and have lost 5lbs!!!! In 2 days.... Can this be possible?

I am really enjoying the foods on this diet. (I did SW and lost 7lbs and ALOT more ££££'s and then put it back on :ashamed0005:)

The only thing I don't enjoy on Atkins is the water, but I am thirsty ALL the time for some reason... I am getting used to it though and hopefully it WILL grow on me ;)

So food today was;

B: Boiled egg and bacon
L: Loads of ham and coleslaw
S: A bit of cheddar as I was feeling peckish
D: Pork belly, spinach and cauli w/ double cream and mayo

Does this sound ok? I'm thinking it is TOO much fat but I read everywhere to add fat to meals.

Ps, My scales are telling me -2lbs not 5lbs :(

I must stop weighing myself.
 
Food sounds great, make sure you eat plenty of green veg and keep drinking the water. Good luck with this way of eating :)
 
Was the coleslaw home made? Otherwise check the label - some can be quite carby.

Thanks moonlights I checked the label and there is 6.9g per 100g, I may have had 150g. Not good but an easy mistake to make and one I will not repeat.
Hello slaj, thanks for the reminder. I am getting plenty of water.

A busy day today and couldn't prepare for it. A call from mum for help this morning ment that I was out all day.
So food today was

B: two boiled eggs
L: a pack of scratchings and half a mattersons sausage.... Not very good on the veg

I will make up the veg for dinner as its pork chops with spinach and green beans. I have had 2ltrs of water so far.

Should I snack on some veg now to up my intake or wait for dinner?

D: pork chop w/ sautéed cabbage, green beans and garlic. (and blooming gorgeous it was too)

EEK!!!

My mates are just 'passing by' after a meal out which I declined saying I wasn't up to it and am tired :) Yay me!! Anyways they are on there way over here now both tipsy and have with them the dreaded vino!!! What do I do I am soooooooooo tempted to join in the fun but I want to be slim more....

Ok I have just solved my own dilemma I will say I am on antibiotics and that's that. Thank heavens for this diary keeping me on track, just thinking of having a glass makes me feel like I am letting myself and whoever is on this journey with me down.

Wish me and my willpower luck....

I didn't touch a drop YAY. Plus I threw a wobbly when I realised how irritating they actually are. The arguments started and at that was it I told them all to bog off. :eek: I feel a bit bad but I really didn't want them here and felt I was losing focus. The temptation to drink was made worse with the whole "antibiotics don't stop working with alcohol" speech.

I have decided they are more drinking buddies than friends so I won't be seeing them much any more ;)

On a lighter note (pardon the pun) I have had a sneaky weigh in and I'm 19.2 :bliss:

B two eggs and two bacon
L chicken breast wrapped with mozzarella and bacon with cabbage
D hot and spicy chicken wings, crushed buttered cauliflower and a little coleslaw (home made)

W plenty
S two babybels and a pepperami
A none

I am sure that I am in ketosis as I have an awful taste in my mouth and rather smelly breath lol

Alpaca I have actually been reading through your diary and I am up to page 144! (Shows how much spare time I have atm) and :worthy: I am sooo impressed with your weight loss and your kind heart. I noticed you have made friend through this site which is fab. Thank you for the thinspiration.

Today I joined my sister for dinner at nandos...... yum yum

B two fried eggs, half a mattersons sausage and some bacon
L skipped as was not hungry and forgot (will try better)
D nandos; 1/2 chicken with haloumi cheese and a side of coleslaw and 1/2 bottle of red wine..... well it would have been rude not to. :giggle:

W tons as always

A 2 glasses of red wine

I really enjoyed the food (and drink) and it was legal as I didn't eat much of the coleslaw and smothered the chicken in perinaise. nom nom I should have had the salad but I really fancied the chicken and felt as if I was being naughty as I had the more nom dish.

My ketosis sticks arrived today and confirmed what I thought I am one away from the darkest shade. :gimi:

Thank you minimins buddies for all your posts (including the dairies ;)) as it really spurs me on and I learn so much. I love you all x

Oh wow you are all so supportive and you don't even know me, I feel almost teary with happiness. I can be a right soppy mare sometimes :rolleyes: I am just finishing off Alpacas diary and am getting a sense of all you guys one by one lol. I am really thinking of joining the meet up to meet you guys in the flesh but don't hold me to it just yet. lol

It would seem that my introducing wine in the mix has not been the best of moves +2 today. But that's fine, its shifting and I am very happy with my progress..... I am still not missing my carbs.

Thank you again I promise to check in with your dairies soon, I just want to read though them first. Plus I would have missed out on all the nsu1 gossip if I hadn't read alpacas. ( I am up to the hand on knee twice so far) ;)
