My journey to success.....

 19.5!!! I am happy but I am so confused as to why I weigh more than Thursday??? Maybe I really messed up with having the wine??? I also have a little problem going to the park and will stop by the chemist today. I will avoid all alcohol from now on. But I am am still 6 POUNDS DOWN

:bliss::bliss::bliss::bliss:

You just answered both your questions hon. Peoples weight fluctuates naturally over the course of a week - mine can go up 3lbs or so and back down. Not having been to the park can be a reason, retaining water after drinking can be a reason among the many.

Just one note on alcohol: while certain kinds won't take you out of ketosis (vodka etc) they can still stall your weight loss. This is because alcohol is a fuel which, like sugar, is easier for your body to burn than fat is. If you drink your body will need to burn off that alcohol fuel before it keeps burning fat.

You will -not- find weight loss a consistent thing on Atkins. Your weight will fluctuate over a week and you'll have weeks where you seem to STS for no reason. But if you stick to the plan and check your overall results you'll find it evens out, and that the slow weeks are compensated for by extra good ones here and there.

Keep going and try not to weigh too regularly!

And just to add 6lbs is an EPIC LOSS well done.

Wow fab loss:). And agree - dont weigh everyday as only a rollercoaster!

Well done Butterfly... You are doing well with the loss... And you kind words are very generous! Keep at it! It really works but it's also very unforgiving. X

 Aww Thank you. I really am a lucky lady to have all this support .

Yesterdays food was a bit manic as I skipped breakfast, not on purpose I went back to bed for a couple of hours after the school run :giggle: Well it was my friends birthday yesterday and knew I wouldn't be able to stay awake to meet her. I managed to skip the meal as I didn't want to be awkward, (she knows about my woe and was fine with this) But I couldn't get away with not meeting for a couple of drinks, now that would be rude :8855:. I did much better than I would have done before.

B skipped
L loads of ham, mayo and little salad
D green beans and two babybel burgers..... nom nom
S Scratchings in the bar

W about 4ltrs

A two voddys and d pepsi and a glass of dry red wine (friends b day)

I am really struggling atm. :sigh2: I am craving chips, pasties and all the naughty carbs. I haven't caved yet but its all I am thinking about!!!

Yesterdays food:

B three eggs and 4streaky bacon
L chicken leg and green beans
D slow cooked chicken curry.... that was very nom (w/ cream) served with buttered cauli rice
S pork crackling

W tons
A none

Good luck all you lovely people x

If you're suffering cravings it could well be from the alcohol. That's what it does to me. I can feel the effects a couple of days afterwards sometimes.

But it will pass. Make sure to drink loads of water and keep some Atkins-friendly food at hand to nibble on if you get the munchies - feeling full is the best weapon against craving off-plan foods, I find.

Keep it up - you're doing great! :D

Thanks scrumbles. I also fear it is the alcohol, :( I do enjoy a drink that is my biggest downfall. I will stick to no booze on school nights and a small tipple at the weekends IF I have been good all week.

I struggle as most of my friends and family drink also, so I am usually surrounded by it on any social occasion.:sigh: But I must 'grow a pair' and stay away from the booze. ;) This may take some getting used to

Today I am going to my sisters for dinner. I have requested NO wine and NO carbs. She doesn't sound too keen as I am not usually a fussy eater and she has been bombarding me with questions all day. So I am heading to sainsburys on route to pick up an atkins friendly starter (that way I can stay full and on plan)

B 3 eggs scrambled with 4 streaky bacon
L Ham and cabbage
D whatever is served as close to plan as possible (Started off with pizza, garlic bread and coleslaw as its kid friendly  then spag bol with garlic bread :banghead: god knows what she'll serve up now lol :rotflmao:)

W not much so far, will do better

Well done on planning ahead Butterflyday - it's the only way to survive social occasions - and don't give in to the "oh just one bite won't hurt" syndrome - because it really does! :)

Hope you managed to avoid all those carbs ... As Susie said, this woe is brilliant but very unforgiving! Planning is always the sensible thing to do! Xx

Hi all I have stuck to this woe even though my eating has been eratic to say the least. I have had four yes that is right FOUR family members in hospital this weekend all minor (ish) individual accidents and one do be looked into further. I am absolutely shattered between waiting at a&e with mums broken wrist and watching the kids whilst their dad is rushed in Then looking after just the one LO as the other LO had a nasty fall on his head (not whilst under my care, mum was home by then). Then the other LO got poked in the eye with a stick whilst playing with my LO (ok that was under my supervision BUT it was an accident).

Phew everything has calmed down now and I shall catch my 40 winks before picking up my LO from school. I have to pop back to mums to help out later as I forgot a couple of bits when I popped in earlier.

Anyway its weigh in day and I am a further two pounds down. :party0011:

Thanks for the support re my sisters meal. She served up a roast with a little slice of chicken, two sausages (left those as 16g carbs each) cabbage, cauli, brocolli (that got eaten) And left the roast tatties, carrots drowned in sugar, honey roast parsnips and yorkshires.:angel09:

Oh my goodness what a weekend! Well done on the loss, I think that is amazing especially after such a weekend !
