my weird ramblings

Evening Claire,

My DD was fine. Her BFF held up pretty well. The BFF's Mum had a few teary moments. but for the most part she handled it well.
The church was standing room only, and I think a very lovely and appropriate ceremony.

Are you thinking of investing in better scales. I like the ones that show water to body fat ratios. If you do not show a loss, you often show a shift.

its my birthday, im a year older and it sucks. that is all

So I guess you don't want any of us to wish you :birthday: ?

Tough. ;)

It's only a day, hun. :hug99: It doesn't mean anything really. I agree that birthdays do get progressively suckier as you get older though. Especially when you can't have cake. :sigh:

How about a nice vanilla muffin with a candle in it? :candle1:

Hi Claire,

Happy belated Birthday. I am sorry that you did not have a good day. (I have had birthdays like that... being "the mom" I always make sure everyone else is sorted for their day, but then no one thinks about me for mine.)

I do not know why our culture makes such an issue out of age. I have a Vietnamese friend who has no idea how old she is -- or even when her birthday is. She knows she was born in the spring and about 42 to 45 years ago, but as birthdays are consider a form of "self-worship" by her family, no one never paid much attention to the specifics.

Anyway, forget the day -- let me wish you a happy year.

I kind of like what my mom says, "It's my birthday, so I am about to begin my next trip around the Sun."

Big Hugs!

Mel

my birthday sucked because family and friends didnt bother contacting me ( oh well i know who matters anyway )

oh and i was made designated driver for the birthday meal with sis, shouldnt matter i know but peed me off that i was expected to go get petrol then pick and drop off everyone

ahh well its done for another year and ive been promised something from a friend in the carribean, thou the last 3 years theyve visited, i was sick one year, kaya the next and last year i didnt recieve messages sent to me so will try not to get my hopes up for meeting this year, lol

and your right mel, for everyone elses birthday im the one called to bake birthday cakes, made my bro in law a hill with a hiker on it, gave me nightmares that cake trying to get it just right

and for mine, no one offerred and i had to go out and buy a cake for others to eat, should of stuck a candle in a cambridge bar, lol

backsorry for sounding ungrateful but my birthdays have always been sucky, they used to completly forget when i was a child, my parents never forgot my two sisters birthdays thou

shoudnt of expected this year to be different, thought maybe this year my dad might bother to call me or something but no
dont know why i imagined anything else, theres a reson i scaled back contact with my dad and older sis, there not very nice and thier racist, dont need em

Hi Claire,

I am one of the middle of four girls. My mother couldn't even remember my name lol, much less my birthday, etc. When we did celebrate it -- it had to be in combination with my younger sister's (3 years younger), as our birthday's are five days apart and hers is before mine. So, the party was always something she wanted.

I am glad my two kids are different genders, 7 plus years apart, and one is a February birthday and the other May. This makes it easier for me to make them feel special.

My DH is not a sentimental or particularly thoughtful person. It is just who he is. So, if I want to do something, I know I have to plan my own birthday celebrations. (I learned this the hard way when he did nothing for my 40th!)

Last year, I had a chance to do a doozy. My friend, CFF (Cheese Fiend Friend) spotted a super good value on three days in Spain (Tossa del Mar). We were able to book it so we were in Spain on my birthday! We worked things out so our families could function without our services for the two travel days and three days away, and we flew off! We are already scheming for this October and thinking of Turkey.

CFF's birthday is in November and falls around Thanksgiving (and her DD's is the same week). So, the family always does a little five day holiday for their birthdays, as the kids have Wednesday through Sunday off from school, and the father can book time off. So, she arranges the trips -- but at least there is a celebration of somesort.

This year my birthday falls on Friday. That will make it even easier for my family. Plus, if my DS is still here (which I think he will be), he can help out with DD. He drives, has a car, can cook, etc.

lol im also the middle child, i got used answering to what ever name my mother caled me, incuding her calling me by my dads name, lol

she did try and just go with number 1, 2 and 3 but she couldnt get that right either, lol

kaya usually gets 2 celebrations, always take her somewhere on her acctual birthday and then we hold a party for her on the weekend after her birthday, even thou she has no friends bless her ( she hasnt noticed that fact yet )

Awww, that is so sweet. And, bless Kaya.

My DD is well aware of the fact that she is different and only has one "real" friend. She only ever gets invited to parties when the whole class is invited. She often sits alone at lunch, plays on her own at break and lunch. She is used to it -- but is still very lonely at times. I used to invite other girls from her class over for playdates -- but the invitations were never reciprocated. In other words, the parents are happy to use us for childcare, but the girls do not choose to have her over to theirs. Not their friend of choice. It is so sad.

well ive changed my ticker today, havnt touched it in ages hoping to get back down to that weight but i thought it was important to accept where i am now and work my way back

so my scales were showing 18st 2lb this morning ( yep i was bad ) so that would roughly be 18st 5lb on my cdc's scales or 257lb. hoping to be back in the 17's by my weigh in next wednesday

i shall also be ordering a load of books from amazon next week including the beck books

today i went shopping for a new dress, had tought that with the weight gain i would possibly be a size 22 so i picked the dress up in a 20 and a 22 to try on, had to call one of the shops staff over thou to swap it for an 18 so that helped with the self esteem thou it means the size 22 dress ive just won and paid for on ebay is likely to be too big. oh well

well it will be time for me to climb into bed soon but im pleased to say today has been a 100% sole source day with 4 itres of water, feels good

morning world, what a beautiful day today
hopped on the scales as usual this morning and todays reading is 17st 9lb so thats 7lb flushed away over night, 100% and 4 litres of water yesterday really did work
so today i will be doing exactly the same as yesterday!

Great! This book has really helped me stick to my plan this time. I felt very silly at first, but now I can see what a difference it has made. I am able to resist cravings and using those cards you make (Advatage Response Cards), when you feel tempted, depressed, discouraged, etc. really helps. Be sure to check out the Beck thread on CD maintenance that Shanny started. There are some good posts early on -- and if you have anything you want to share or ask about it, there are several subscribers.

Yay! That is good. Post a picture of dress, if you can. It is nice to see what others are going to be wearing. I tend to wear the same ole thing... as I go for what "feels" good.

Depending on how it is made, it could be fine. Or altered. If it was a deal, then having it altered might be worthwhile.

Hi Claire,

You sound so good! Yay!

I have the "gift" suitcase nearly packed -- it is still laying opened on the livingroom floor as it has some space for bits and bobs. I hauled out the huge duffle type suitcase I used for my son to go and back and forth to Uni in US for DD and me to use for our clothing, etc.

I am about to go up and start sorting into piles the clothes... but I have to haul DD's summer clothing out storage and have her try it all on, as she has grown so much. Ugh!

Well, off to DD's room. Later.

MM

kids eh lol. madam has some beautiful summer stuff, last year i had to get rid of the whole summer wardrobe as noting fitted anymore, was so sad, she had some lovely stuff ( admittedly they were age 18 months to 2 years, lol )

im friggin starving now thou, already had 2 shakes and a bucket or two of water

Hi Claire,

Is it from the heat or do you usually get a headache when you start SSing?

I hope you feel better soon.

MM
