Nefertari's journey to lose 130lbs

Re: Nefertari's Slim and Save diary

You're welcome! How are you today?

Arrived at my mum's. The only thing she's said is that if I start exercising, the weight will come off. It's as if I've lost nothing and look no different. I'm utterly miserable now. 3.5st gone and nothing. I thought of all people, she would notice.
You will still lose the same weight if you work out or don't .... when on vlcd you should not over do it . theres been a few women lose 8 stone that i know it was not until i'd really lost a good chunk that people were noticing .... just keep going and you'll get people notice all at once.... you've done so well , keep going , NO U TURNS :)

Thanks hun - definitely no u-turns! I'm on full steam ahead :D I lost 7st before without exercise. I think it was just my mum's idea of helping me. All the weight has come off my upper body but I know that around the 4st off mark, the lower starts shifting so I'm not too worried. I'm getting there! :D x

Mine i seem to lose it from the bottom half first on vlcd . Glad to hear that your postive , wow 7 stone before thats amazing .
Has it all been plain sailing sice you started VLCd ?

It has this time so far - I've had some planned nights off but always got right back on the diet straight after. The time I lost 7st was my first time on a VLCD - the first time is always easy! I haven't had a successful attempt since, only last two weeks tops. This has been the most successful re-attempt yet - 11 weeks and still going strong! :D

Wow 11 weeks , ho yes i've had lots of false starts , negative thinking , really plays a big part thinking in two minds .... well so far i'm ok . usaly by now i gave myself an easy let out . just placed an order with a vlcd company .
got zumba tomorrow will go , have to push myself lol

Still at my mum's and finally nearing the end of being ill (I hope!). Aside from a headache and a bit of a snuffly nose, I feel pretty good. Scales haven't moved at all this week yet but then I didn't have any packs at all on Friday and Saturday I only had two so now I'm back into the swing of it, I'm hoping that the scales will start moving!

Did you pack you scales? :scale: LOL Like! Sounds like you've had this dreadful virus. Glad to hear you're on the mend now. Don't worry, the scales will start moving again very soon.

Headache has gone! Hoorah!

I've been thinking a lot lately about how to maintain once I get to goal and I've decided that I'm going to refeed and switch onto SW or WW once I'm 1-2st from goal so that I can lose the rest while learning to eat a balanced diet. The added benefit is weekly WIs plus free WIs once I'm at goal. I really think this will help me maintain.

So, that means another 4-5 months on S&S unless I lose faster than the average stone a month. It sounds a lot but I'll be working in my dissertation all summer so time will fly! I'll hopefully be working full time by then too so I'll be busy busy! :D

Sounds a plan but what exactly does 'refeed' (funny sounding term!) actually mean in practice and how many weeks do you reckon you would allow for it?

That makes a lot of sense! Sounds a bit like CD only they reccommend a bit longer and even more gradual. You will know better when you are there, this Autumn all going to plan, how long you need. Just think how slim you are going to be by Christmas!

Re: Nefertari's Slim and Save diary

I'm thinking the same actually. Build up using the S&S plan and then finish the last half a stone or so using SW and exercise.

I really think it's the best way to change your lifestyle. So many maintainers on VLCDs end up relying on some shakes/bars as part of their 'normal' lifestyle. I don't want to rely on them in any quantities. I know I'll have to work to stay slim but I want to do it the right way.

Re: Nefertari's Slim and Save diary

Yeah it's my issue with losing weight with a VLCD really. Don't feel like there's much other choice though!
