Newbie with 4 stone to lose

Seems very quiet on here this week.... Where is everyone? We'll I've had a good week. Still had a sore throat and ear ache but it's all down to the damn wisdom tooth pushing through. I took today off work as I was so tired through sleepless nights. I took a sleep aid at 10 and slept right through to 11am this morning!! I've been ok with the diet this week but have been sucking on halls soothers so not in ketosis. I'm not expecting a loss this week but haven't gone mad so hopefully I'll stay the same. The boyfriend has this weekend off so looking forward to some quality time together, nice dog walks and cosying up on the sofa while to storm comes!!! I love autumn!! Xxx

Morning peeps!!! -1lb for me today. I'm very happy with that as didn't have the best start to the week and have been poorly. I'm 15st 10lb now down from 17st 2 and very happy. I had my first " have you lost weight" comment yesterday which felt amazing!! My BMi is still very high as im a shorty and am currently 40.2 so hoping next week will take me out of those 40,s!! My sights are set on 15st 2, I want to get that 2 stone weight loss under my belt!!! I have a wedding 1 month away and really wanted to see those 14s to fit into a lovely dress. I think it will still fit around 15st 2 but might need some big control pants!!!! So the challenge is on ...... 1 month of being super good!!! Excited :) x

All well here, have had a lovely relaxed weekend at home with the bf. Atkins has really become a way of life for me, I just don't think about it anymore, it's become natural. Had lovely minced lamb kofta's today with a minted cream, was lovely and nice to have something different. Joining the gym this week so I can start on the weekend when bf is working. Not only will the exercise be brilliant but will give me something to do on the weekends when the bf is at work. Still haven't made any new friends down here since moving ( can't say I have tried as I like my own space) but really need to get out and do something instead of sat on my bum!!

Watching biggest loser again which really does motivate me, these people with so much weight to lose are amazing!!! And seeing previous winners lose over 120lbs etc is amazing!!!! Only 20 for me so far but so determined to do it this time.

I have recently joined an Atkins group on Facebook and boy are they strict and quite rude. I got told off for saying I ate sugar free jelly, apparently it's not strict induction!!! Well it's working for me!! X

Subscribing - used to do Atkins, working my way slowly back to low carb but in the meantime loving reading all the diaries!

Congrats on your weight loss so far, you're doing so well. I may join you on a one month clean & green - I really want to lose another 7lbs by Christmas coz my jeans don't fit at the moment!

Hi and welcome!! You should easily get 7lbs for christmas!! I'm hoping for a stone for christmas!! But 7lbs this month would be ideal :) xx

Fell off the wagon yesterday and was bullied into a slice of birthday cake!! :-( it was lovely at the time but had Horrid cramps and flatulence all night!!!! (From a piece of cake??!!)

I've got this week off work and we are heading down to Devon for the week. I can't wait.... We haven't had a week off work since April and are shattered! So looking forward to a week of lie ins and walks on the beach with the pooch!!

Need to stay on track, I'm not making the losses I want really (due to eating cake!) and cheating by drinking squash. I'm still losing steadily but need some bigger losses!!

Gym starts today, just having brekkie and off I go!! Let's burn this fat!! Xx

Gym done.... I even surprised myself as I ran!! Can't remember the last time I ran. I have a cartilage problem in my knee so gave up netball and hockey about 5 years ago and was always told to lose weight by the dr before they would operate. I tried and failed and gave up on exercise as a result. But the biggest loser has spurred me on, they have joint problems etc but still exercise!!! So I did 45 minutes of cardio spread between the treadmill, bike and rower and then 30 lengths in the pool. Legs felt very jelly like after but feeling good. I'm sure I will be aching tomorrow but I feel good just knowing that I'm really trying to shift this weight this time. Let's just hope the scales reflect it!!

Awww just get back on it and have lots of water - I had horrendous stomach cramps and wind when I ate a piece of cake on jacob's birthday last week - more worryingly I came out in boils from eating wheat - I usually get em on my neck or back - this time I got em on my legs n bum :-O it's amazing how something so small as a piece of cake can have such a huge impact - what a shame the evil stuff is always so tempting.

you seem to be doing very well though - although maybe it's not as quick as you would hope but at least the general trend is downwards which is great.

I can't touch squash at all or I stall instantly - something to do with the fruit sugars I think although strangely I can drink as much coke zero as I want and still lose - bizarre!!

I hope you have a lovely week in Devon - it sounds like just what you need! Xx

Hope you have a great week off:)

I have same problem with wheat & carbs- boils & tummy aches. So not worth it! Upside is just spent girly weekend surrounded by cakes & desserts & avoided all. This is not willpower - brain retrained as i'm a wimp and hate pain lol;)

Well I'm back from an amazing week away in Devon!! We were in the middle of nowhere, with a beach on our doorstep and just quality time together...... Just what we needed. I tried to stick to plan but did have some cheeky wines and a Devon cream tea!!! So I'm 2 pounds heavier but determined to get that off and more this week. Back on plan today an have had a beasting at the gym..... Must get rid of those carbs!!!! Here's to a super week!!! Xx

I see some people drink 4 litres a day....... I don't even manage 1 and that's a struggle. Sugar free squash stalls me....... Any tips???? Help!! X

Glad you had a fab week off, sounds ideal with sea on your door step!

As for the 4l of water, if you were looking at my post I was being optimistic as I really need tons of eater to flush me out after the binge week I've had!

I try and drink quite a bit of tea (rooibos tea from lidl and green/chai mix from clipper) and I use large mugs (we have 500ml Kath Kidson cupw). So if I have 4 teas a day that's already 2l and then I use a 1l water bottle and try drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I do find I struggle with the water in the winter.

Also, what about doing a big pot of tea (we have an insulated cafetierre (spl?) Which holds 1l and I sometimes make a tea in there and it keeps warm for hours, for easy reach?

Good luck with the water hun, it's hard! I'm half way through 1st 1l water abd just out kettle on for tea. x

Yes...... You are to blame with your 4 litres!! I didn't think of the tea I drink but I still don't think that's enough. I have made a conscious effort to drink more today. I find using a sports cap bottle with me at work helps but still only about a litre!!

Brilliant Monday!!! Firstly I have a brilliant pink ketosis stick!! Really surprised as had a carb binge Saturday so to get into ketosis in 2 days is awesome for me. Maybe it's because I had a 2 hr session at the gym yesterday?? Burnt it out?? I don't care..... Love my pink sticks!!

The boss told me today that I will be getting full time hours :) but have to wait until April :-( . Brilliant news for me as it's an extra £500 a month for the savings and also a great help in getting our mortgage. I always though we would have to wait 3 years but now looking like next year for us..... All very exciting news. Everything is coming together ..... Just need to win this battle with the bulge!!

6 more weigh in...... Oh how I would love to see those 14s........... Please let me see those 14s!!!

B. boiled egg
L. Boiled egg, chunk cheese 30g
D. Cod with chorizo and green beans
W.500 mls so far :-(

That is excellent news about the hours Kimmi - I know it's a few months to wait but at least you know it will be happening and April will be here before you know it - everything is coming together so nicely for you!

I'm also doing a mini challenge in the run up to xmas - seven pounds in seven weeks (started last week but not lost anything yet due to a carb heavy weekend away with the hubby - oops ) gives me something to aim for so hopefully we will both be lucky! Xx
