Nicola's Cuba Countdown

Awww that really sucks, I hope your scales are just going through a rough patch and you have a loss coming your way tomorrow!

Boo to scales - it does suck! I have 5 weeks today until my holiday and 7lbs is my realistic target...but would prefer a bit more cos seeing a '10' at the start of that weight would be AWESOME! Then when I am back will be about a stone to go to my eventual target of 10 stone, and I will see how I feel once I get there...I might lower it a bit but I NEVER thought I would get there when I started so not making myself any promises yet!

I hope the scales are kind to you anyway - even if not this week it WILL show on those scales though so don't be disheartened. xx

Thanks lovely ladies - I keep on reminding myself how good I feel already and that it's not a race, but it kind of is, the thought of getting into a bikini next to my size 6 skinny minnie friends has made it one in my head :D And good luck for getting into the 10s for hols Laura - that's kind of the same as me although ideally I do want that 10st 7lbs! :)

Have had a good food and just general day today, one of those days where you get things done and things go well and you just feel good, e.g. at 4.30pm I could have stayed and worked another few hours, but instead I decided to make the most of flexitime, shut down my computer, and left so I could come home and chill in my bikini in the garden, and now at 7.30pm work feels like a distant memory already, lovely feeling for an evening :)

Oh, and my trip to Waitrose to get my fish for tonight went exceedingly well - I managed to get a huge piece of monkfish reduced from £8 to £3!! :D So that's tonight's tea and another night's sorted as it doesn't have to be eaten until the 6th - excellent bargain!! Although I'd never cooked monkfish before so had to do a bit of frantic googling... well worth it, cooked in the chilli, tomato and garlic sauce it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! :D

Today's summary:

Exercise: 35 mins at gym (20 mins run, 15 mins bike)
Breakfast: Mullerlight, Banana, 30g of All-Bran Chocolate Crunch (only just tried for first time, how nice?!) (HEB), Tea (0.5)

Hehe! I could easily have eaten that roast a third day in a row but I froze the rest for a future quick-tea day! :D Thanks for keeping fingers crossed, need all the help I can get the way the scales have been behaving this week! x

Scales at home say 11st 6.75lbs this morning, so I might get a small loss tonight, but I don't think there's any hope for that 1.5st award as I need 11st 6lbs for that.... wish me luck! :)

Today's plan...

Snack: Banana
Exercise: 30 mins Gym
Breakfast: WW Yogurt, Apple (S), 30g All-Bran Choc Crunch (HEB)
Lunch: Soup, Satsumas (S), Raspberries (S), Sugarfree Jelly (0.5)
Weigh-In: ???
Dinner: Spaghetti Carbonara & Salad (S) with Parmesan (HEA), Strawberries (S)

So disappointed, another measly 0.5lbs off despite all my hard work. Clearly me and 777 do not get on!! :(

Annoying =( this new week might be a week your body decides to lose some weight!!! =) I think I'm gonna go back to full 15 syns, perhaps my body hated being punished into a mere 7 a day?? Lol. I just don't get why some weeks are better than others.

0.5 off is better than on chick...i know we always want 5lbs off a week lol, but it's a step in the right direction and you might get a good one next week? ;) x

Ah I know, I should be happy just that something's coming off. I wouldn't mind if I'd had a night off in the week, or a few too many syns, and then felt like I deserved such a small loss, but I actually couldn't have tried any harder this week... which is why it's so frustrating. I also woke up in a bad mood this morning which just isn't helping - good old PMT lol x

I'm def going back to my 15 syns too! Have just very much enjoyed a full size Crunchie! :D Seeing as my body's given me two weeks of crap losses surely this has to be the week I get a good one to compensate?! Sooooo tempted to absolutely gorge myself right now but there's no point setting off the week on the wrong foot... I can only imagine how mad I'll be if I get a gain next week!!

Soooo.... today's summary...

Exercise: 40 mins at gym (15 mins on bike, 10 mins on treadmill, 10 mins on rower, 5 mins crunches)
Breakfast: WW Yogurt, Banana
Snack: Apple (S)
Lunch: Spiced Parsnip Soup from work, Sugarfree Jelly (0.5), Raspberries (S)
Weigh-in: 0.5lbs off :(
Snacks: 2 x Rocky Road Hifi (HEB)
Dinner: Spaghetti Carbonara (turned into scrambled egg, reflective of my mood haha!)
Snacks: Pink n White (2.5), Crunchie (9.5), 3 Babybel Lights (HEA)

Summary: 1 x HEA, 1 x HEB, 12.5 Syns, 40 mins Exercise

Onwards and downwards.... please!!

Off to watch Mad Men for a bit of escapism and to cheer my grumpy self up! :D

Thanks hun! x

Have just sat and planned out my Success Express menu for the week and feel a bit more confident in getting a proper loss this week, just hope it's a bit more successful than my attempt at 777! :)

Oh, and perhaps some explanation to the disappointing loss tonight, mother nature just arrived!

I seem to have good months and bad months with it - last month I managed to lose 1.5lbs which was amazing, but it has been known to result in a gain for me too (although that's usually on the months when I cave in to the chocolate cravings that always come in the days before! ;) ) Blooming hormones!!

We'll see what the scales say in a few days time... but in other good news in the meantime I am finally fitting into a gorgeous size 12 dress that I bought from Monsoon to slim into over a year ago! Now just need to get brave enough to wear it to work, it's rather curve-enhancing! :D

Ooh, and here's my brand new lunchbox purchased from Aldi and especially suited to Success Express Days as it's got a little 1/3 separate section - at £1.50 a total bargain so I bought two! :D (With tomorrow's success express lunch it in, which the cat tried to pinch while I went to get my phone to take a pic, little minx!!)

Ahhh see, sounds like good old water retention! Next week will be looking good for you I'm certain of it!

Here's hoping!

Have woken up in a much better mood today, and after doing 30 Day Shred in my living room now feel ready to face my first Success Express day! :D

The plan...
Exercise: 30 Day Shred
Breakfast: WW Yogurt, Banana, Apple, Tea (0.5)
Snack: Strawberries
Lunch: Bernard Matthews Tikka Turkey Chunks, Mixed Salad, Tomatoes, Peppers, Syn-free dressing, Sugarfree Jelly (0.5), Beef Hoops & Crosses (4.5)
Snack: Satsumas
Dinner: Chilli Con Carne (packed with an extra 1/2 pepper and 1/2 carrot for superfree), Rice & Mixed Salad
Snacks: Scan Bran Cake (HEB) (2), Daim Bar (7.5)

Kind of struggling to fit in the HEAs and HEBs when filling so much of every plate with superfree!! Never thought I'd be saying that! x

I think exercise has a lot to do with it as well. Have you measured yourself? Since I started exercising my loses have been so small but I've lost inches. Personally I'd rather see it on the scales than the tape measure but saying that its a lovely feeling when you do feel smaller :)

Well done on your loss :) a loss is a loss regardless xx

Emma - I think cranking up the exercise even more might be having a bit of an impact, although I'm not really seeing huge inch losses yet either - only 2 from my waist, 2 from my hips and 1 from my chest since I started. This is the point I got stuck at last time I lost weight seriously, so think it's just going to be a bit of a hump to get over - my body must go through a bit of an adjustment period at this stage!

Amy - Welcome! All advice and tips gratefully received! :D

Lauren - Booooo to no lunchboxes! Hope they get some in stock soon for you, mine was ace for work today! :)

So today hasn't been anywhere near as difficult as I thought it might be, hope that's a good sign and doesn't mean I did something wrong on Success Express!!

Did my Pilates class out in the sunshine as it was far too gorgeous to be cooped up in a room and it was fab!! I totally want to live somewhere hot so I can do that every week! :D Although it was slightly embarrassing as it was in the grounds at work and when I got home I had a text from a friend asking if she had just seen me "thrusting" in the car park...

Today's Summary...

Exercise: 30 Day Shred
Breakfast: WW Yogurt, Banana, Apple, Tea (0.5)
Snack: Strawberries
Lunch: Bernard Matthews Tikka Turkey Chunks, Mixed Salad, Tomatoes, Peppers, Syn-free dressing, Sugarfree Jelly (0.5), Beef Hoops & Crosses (4.5)
Exercise: Pilates
Dinner: Chilli Con Carne (packed with an extra 1/2 pepper and 1 carrot for superfree), Rice & Mixed Salad with Syn-Free Dressing and a dollop of Fat Free Fromage Frais
Snacks: HiFi Bar (HEB), 40g Reduced Fat Cheddar (HEA)

Summary: 1 x HEA, 1 x HEB, 5.5 Syns, 70 mins Exercise (30 Day Shred & Pilates)

Drinks: 5 x Gin & Slimline Tonics (12.5)

Not bad for a day with sunshine drinking and still on plan for Success Express! :D

Morning all! I am sooo happy it's the weekend and I can chill, it's felt like a busy week! :D Am just sat here waiting for it to get hot enough to be able to lie out on the sunlounger, have got a stack of magazines ready and waiting to be read, and a little snooze in the sun will be just what the doctor ordered as woke up with a bit of a sore throat this morning... as if I need any excuse though haha! :D

Me and the scales are temporarily friends this morning, they're saying 11st 5.5lbs! Hope that sticks for Wednesday (and a bit more off ideally!) and it's not just my body being a bit dehydrated after yesterday's G&Ts - I did switch to soda water at about 9pm, so am hoping that's not the case and the loss is real! As I wasn't feeling too tiptop I went back to bed and didn't wake up til 1.30pm, oops! But on the plus side I now feel much better :)

Have got loads of lovely food planned for today, it's great when you're excited about every meal!! :D

Brunch: Chicken, Mango & Goats Cheese (HEA x 2) Salad (sounds odd but it's amazing, and fruit's a great way of getting that 2/3 superfree in) with a WW Petit Pain (HEB) and Cherries
Snacks: Apple
Dinner: Monkfish with Cherry Tomatoes, Chilli & Garlic, New Potatoes & Green Veg (0.5 for 7 Sprays Oil)
Pudding: WW Yogurt
Snacks: Daim Bar (7.5), Ryvita Fruit Crunch (HEB) & Choccy Philly (4.5 Syns), Frozen Grapes

Summary: 2 x HEA, 2 x HEB, 12.5 Syns, day off from exercise
