Morning all!

I've just had my first lot of overnight oats as breakfast in bed - they were very nice but not sure they'll overtake magic pancakes as my favourite SW breakfast! :D

I was woken up by thunder and lightening at 6am this morning, boo to the end of our gorgeous summer, I'd gotten used to getting up to sunshine!! :( But on the plus side I came downstairs to this...

My housemate had bought me flowers and a present, and had also bought me a card and present from Sophia the cat!! How cute is that?! :D And best of all, the present from her was tickets to go and see Ellie Goulding in October here in Manchester!! Have wanted to see her live for ages so am very very excited!! :D Fab start to the day! Maybe being 33 won't be so bad! ;)

So now all I need to do is be relatively good with food today (although I think some chocolate might sneak in there somewhere)... and then enjoy a lovely meal out tonight with a few cocktails and vinos :D

Hi there, I'm fairly new to SW and this forum but I've read all of your diary and posts from the lovely supportive people and just had to post to say how much you've (all) inspired me :)
try not to beat yourself up over little slips - they really are little in the grand scheme when you think how far you've come :)
and sorry if this is teaching you to suck eggs (mmm eggs :p) but instead of oven chips which have a few syns, why not have SW chips - had them the first time last night and the OH was sceptical at first but he even said they were brill!

Hello there! Am glad to hear we've been able to provide you with some inspiration, I really find other people's experiences help me to stay motivated, and everyone's so lovely on here!! I couldn't go on about food/weight this much with my regular friends, they'd be batting me around the head by now haha! :D

I usually have SW chips but someone at group had recommended the McCains ones so I thought I'd give them a try out of pure laziness ;) I think I actually prefer SW chips now, it's been so long since I had anything else!! The magic pancakes are really easy - mix 35g of porridge oats with a mullerlight and a few tbsp of sweetener and leave in the fridge overnight, then in the morning add 2-3 beaten eggs and then cook like little scotch pancakes. They're really yummy with fruit!

i know what you mean about needing somewhere to release - I'm a bit weird as I don't want to tell my friends so don't talk about it with them! A couple of them know I'm 'eating more healthily' and 'trying to be good' as I've got 2 weddings at the end of August but I feel like I want to keep this as my secret. Does that sound mental?!

My OH and my mum know (and they're the most important people in my world!) but it's odd as I normally tell my friends everything. Some odd psychology there!

LMP - Not mental at all, I think you're the same as a lot of us! My very close friends know about me doing SW, mostly because they've been to SW with me and have also lost weight this way! But I haven't really told many other people, just like you all I've said when people have asked is that I'm eating healthily and exercising a bit more, and starting to reap the rewards :) I don't want to become a diet bore haha! And because it's not fussy eating nobody really needs to know either, which I prefer :) And this site is brilliant for getting loads of new ideas, keeping it fresh is half the battle! x

Haha, they are nice - I reckon you could use any flavour yogurt you like though, cherry would be nice with the pot having cherries on top :)

Morning all!

Last day of holidays today :( , and am going to go to group for my post-birthday weigh-in this morning - am fully ok with it being a gain, the scales at home are showing 10st 12lbs, so that's likely to be a 2.5lb-3lb gain, but I know exactly where it's come from so I just need to draw a line under it and start afresh from tomorrow morning :) Am just hoping that I don't wipe out all of my holiday loss!!

Had a really nice birthday meal out, wasn't remotely good haha! Had a few cocktails, a few glasses of bubbles and a few glasses of wine, and had a gorgeous pate to start and steak for my main, and didn't even think about the syns! :D Also had a few of the Dizzy truffles from Hotel Chocolat which are just divine! :D So all that's sitting on my stomach but hey, birthdays only come around once a year!

Once I've been for weigh-in and faced the music I'm going to come home and plan out the next week properly - I've got loads of stuff in both the fridge and freezer that needs using up, so I doubt I'll even need to go and do a shop! As I'll be getting a gain this week I want a really good loss next week, and there's just a single night out (Saturday, birthday celebrations part 2) to trip me up, so if I'm 100% around that there's no reason I can't get a decent number on the scales by next Weds - positive thinking all the way this week!!

But... I am going to be naughty for one last day today - I bought myself some salted caramels from Hotel Chocolat yesterday and I plan to really savour and enjoy those today, and I'm also going to enjoy a bit more of the butterscotch icecream I bought the other day before I throw out the rest of the tub (I can't have the temptation there for next week!), and I'm probably going to the cinema this evening so will allow myself some of the treats I'd normally say no to, so that by tomorrow morning I will have thoroughly exhausted all cravings for bad stuff from my system! :D I might even top it off with a takeaway, but it'll be low-syn options from there if I do!

I've got my 2nd weigh in tonight and have everything crossed that the scales will show a loss, although it might be ruined by the time of the month (sorry too much detail I know but I think it may have an effect :-s). Painkillers didn't touch the sides yesterday so I succumbed to 4 Lindor balls which made me feel happier but used my entire day's syns - totally worth it though!!! ;-p
