Eee 10pm and I'm falling asleep :) what is wrong with me? At least you've got an excuse for being shattered, you've worked bloody hard today, I've run up the stairs a couple of times and gone sone sit ups, hardly a taxing day lol.

I'm off to be hypnotherapied, I'm so tired I doubt I'll be awake past the induction section. Nighty night x

hubby went to work when i came home from zumba last night. he needed to finish some stuff off. rolled in at midnight. dog went bonkers as usual. i was awake as i had a loo visit and wondered where he was. anyway i was feeling very hungry. i went into the kitchen and was going to have a slice of bread but then i thought that some skim milk would be better. had a small glass of it. i knew it would help me sleep too. good choice i think.

Food ....

Crumpet 100 cals
1/2 sandwich 150 cals
1/2 Banana 40 cals
2 x options hot choc 80 cals
Handful of buttons 100 cals (wasted
Milk 50 cals
flapjack 300 cals (820)

Why a 1/2 I hear you ask!!!!! Dog ate half my sandwich as I went to stop the kids from doing something they shouldn't then Matthew wanted my banana so I shared it! :( not happy. I was really enjoying my quorn salad sarnie. I don't use marg I use balsamic vinegar on my bread instead. Yum yum.

too many carbs in my diet. i need to re-look at it.

Have you worked out how many grams of carbs you're having? I worked out that anything less than 60g will keep you in ketosis but not sure how much more than that and it becomes a problem of weight gain.... I might have to look it up lol.

i have no idea what number of g of carbs i'm eating.

I found this on a nutrition website:

Carbs and Fat Loss
If you are on a fat loss diet, then there's definitely no need to eat more than 100 grams of carbs in any one day. I don't necessarily support Atkins, but there are valid points to that diet. When I am in the middle of a hardcore cutting phase, trying to get as lean as possible in a given time frame, I will only consume 20-30 grams of low glycemic index carbs for breakfast.
For lunch I will try to avoid most carbs, opting for whole grain bread or a salad if necessary. My pre-workout drink is typically 1/2 a serving of Biotest Surge, I sip on Gatorade during the workout, then finish off with 1 serving of Biotest Surge after the workout. On non-workout days, I skip all of that and choose a protein bar, cheese, or a meat snack instead.
Dinner is always low carb during a diet. Soup, meat and vegetables, and salad are all great choices for low carb dinners. Appropriate snacks are meats, cheeses, protein bars or shakes, veggies, and other super-low carb foods. Typically in the midst of a diet phase, I eat around 75 grams of carbs on a non-workout day, and maybe 120-140 grams of carbs on a workout day.

In conclusion, I recommend that if you are moderately active, you should derive maybe 30% of your daily calories from carbs. Sure, my opinion differs from specialist government agencies, but that's only because I have seen low carb diets work. I have also seen Americans grow obese and suffer from a long list of carbohydrate induced diseases.
A 200 lb man on a 2500 calorie diet would probably eat maybe 180 grams of carbs in a day, all from unprocessed whole food sources. A 140 lb woman on a 1500 calorie diet might only eat 100 grams of carbs in a day.
Someone on a strict diet might limit themselves to 50 grams of carbohydrates a day regardless of sex or weight. Just remember to avoid those nasty sugary processed carbs so that you can stay healthy, avoiding energy crashes and adult-onset type II diabetes.

Dunno if it helps at all?

i think the difficulty is working out how many carbs i'm eating. i'll have to sit and look at the carbs in everything.

Evening Nikki.. just passing to say hi.!

i also dont look at carbs.. suppose thats something i should look into soon x

i'm grumpy tonight :( big time grump on the go. thing is i've done no exercise today and i hate not doing exercise. so i've had some bad things. made my grumpy feeling worse and not better :( wasn't even hungry.

extra to previous....

handful of choc buttons 100 cals - wish i never bought these for the kids as the kids haven't had any :( i'm going to put them in the bin tonight.
chilli heatwave doritoes - 200 cals aprox had about 1/8th of a big bag so don't know the actual count.
flapjack 150 cals aprox wish i'd not baked them for hubby. going to make him take them into work tomorrow.
options hot choc 40 cals

490 cals extra and my daily eat of 1320 cals. 1810 cals eaten today. 610 over my plan and 350 over my BMR :(

Hey there Grumpy Grumperton :p Go easy on yourself Hun!!! It takes an over eat of 3500 cals to gain 1lb of fat!!! I'm not talking about the pretend gains from glycogen and water, but a real gain of wobbly fat. So even though you've eaten over your BMR cals, it's still not going to be enough to gain a real lb!!

I don't want to trivialise how you're feeling but I do want you to feel better :D :D :D

Oh and can I just say mmmmmm doritoes!!!!!!!

it's just me. i can't believe i've got back into feeling like i do over exercise or lack of it. it's like an obsession, it can't be good. it's cause it's thursday and i always go to the gym on thursday. i didn't today. i had to 'babysit' my mum cause my dad had to go out and i didn't make the gym. i didn't get the burn. i can't justify eating what i did at the end of the day. i had no burn, no cals gone through exercise!

I know where you're coming from, this past 8 weeks has been a real wake up call for me. I'm itching to get back to proper exercise again, but this forced break has really tested me. I couldn't care less about going back to work, it's exercise I've missed so much.

I think we've swapped food addiction for an endorphin addiction... And when endorphins can't be had food waves hello and shoves it's way back to the front!! That's why I HAD to do CD while I've been off because my food addiction would have taken over my life!!

what you are saying it totally true. i've not eaten enough for a gain of 1lb but the scales are not being nice to me and i get stressed about it, i know i shouldn't go on every day but i can't not go on either. some posted something very interesting in my fb status. not bad but interesting.

typed this....

so tired tonight.... 5 1/2 mile run, 20 mins bike and a zumba class..... 1200 cals burnt. phew. unfortunately 1533 cals eaten eek!

this is the interesting response....

Since you use calories for mundane things other than sport e.g. breathing and the like I think your overall calorie count for today is negative. Surely you need to eat more than that if you're doing that much exercise. How do you know how many you've eaten so precicely anyway?!

she's right about what she says and has replied tonight saying it's not fair that i do what i do to sts. would be ok if i never ever slipped up though. i do slip up though. :(

Nikki download an app called netdiary you put in what you've eaten and it tells you the whole nutritional value. Including carn contents.

Everyone slips up, if we didn't we wouldn't be human. It's massively unfair that some people have to work harder than others to sts :(

I'm sure this is why I've never quite got round to maintenance, because I know it's going to be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. The diet is the easy part, stsing is the hard part.

I also found this on YouTube while I was looking at the 30 Day Shred vids

Hope the link works cos I thought it was interesting, but yet another thing for me to look into lol :)

Don't lose heart Hun, you can do this!!! :D

gone up loads since monday. i can't understand. i've not been THAT bad. i know i've had my times. but...... FFS 4lbs?????

Its all the exercise hun, the harder you work your muscles the more water they hold on to to repair themselves, to maintain you need to eat around 1500-2000 calories without the calories you are burning in exercise. If you burn 500 in exercise you should be eating around 2000-2500 to stay the same, your body is not coping with so few calories to work efficiently......
