Re: No more excuses! New me for 2014

Morning Diary!

Well I am back and will plan todays menu shortly but wanted to report just what going off plan did to me so that I am more careful in future!

I can't believe that after only 4 weeks my body has changed that much but after what was actually a lovely day where I didn't go too overboard but did seem to have a glass of something on the go practically all day, the minute I walked through my front door I started to feel awful! I had terrible reflux which I haven't had since giving up smoking 7 weeks ago and IBS which I haven't had for years!

I was up all night and ended up sleeping most of Boxing day and woke in the evening for a Banana and slice of toast...

Was that really due to eating well for 4 weeks and the body not coping with rich food or did guilt bring it all on?

Anyway. Feel better today and I am taking my friends dog for a good long walk (after a hearty SW breakfast!)

I hope everyone else had a good time, luckily Christmas day itself was fun! :)

I suppose it will help in the long run as long as I remember this! But I would never have believed that things could change this fast. It certainly didn't effect me like this on weight watchers...Hope you feel better soon x

Hi Chrissie. Sorry to hear you were unwell on Boxing Day. We do get used to eating healthier, less rich foods - I need to haul it back now around social things but it is hard with Xmas goodies still around. One day at a time hey. Hope you are feeling better today xx

Re: No more excuses! New me for 2014

Hi Sharon. Much better thanks! It at least will help me not to over indulge again(I hope) You get used to feeling healthier very quickly! I won't take it for granted now though. Lets hope I remember this on New Years eve!

I made sure that the only choccies in the house were presents to hubby so I can't steal them! :D

Friday 27th December

Managed to get some walking in today! Did a quick 1 mile this morning, then 3 and half miles this afternoon. I didn't take my friends dog in the end, the weather was horrible earlier.

We are seeing friends tomorrow night, not sure what we are doing yet and then have a party to go to on New Year's eve, both will no doubt end up being late nights but I don't want to overdo things again so will have a plan sorted and will make sure I keep tabs on what I am eating and drinking! If we end up entertaining our friends here on Saturday they will be eating SW snacks! :D

On plan today anyway:
Healthy Extras
a:
b: 2 Weetabix

Breakfast: Banana & Muller Yoghurt, Weetabix Muffins
Lunch: Banana & Muller Yoghurt, Weetabix Muffins
Just wanted something light to start today off!
Dinner: Caribbean Pepperpot Stew with potatoes and carrots

Syns
Cappuccino 3.5
10g Sultanas 1.5
Total Syns: 5

Hi Chrissie. Sounds like you are back in track already. Really heavy rain down here, definitely wouldn't fancy going out walking in it. Frozen chocolate are prob quite yummy don't think it would work for me - need stronger choice power for me but still a bit in Xmas mode. Aiming to limit damage though.
Hi Sharon, After the way I felt after over-indulging on Christmas day it was quite easy to get back on track, I suppose it did me a favour really! I think we are going to the pub tonight and my friends suggested getting a meal there too, I said that I would probably not eat there but that shouldn't stop them, So hopefully just one glass of wine spritzer followed by a couple of diet cokes I should get away with it today too! :)
The weather is a lot nicer today so I am planning to take all my leftover bread down to the local pond and feed the ducks. (Only hubby eats the bread now!) That will give me a nice 2 mile walk and the local birds will benefit too :D

:) you sound so determined Chrissie. I've just been in town and ordered some new glasses, wear contacts sometimes but mainly glasses for work. One purple pair and one gold pair with crystal detailing. I can use my old pair in the swimming pool as plan to try and swim a bit in January. Not sure how I'm going to cope with drink yet for Xmas dinner tonight. But I am being better than I could otherwise be :). Have a lovely night out with your friends xx

Saturday 28th December

Ha! I might sound determined but it doesn't always pan out :) I didn't feed the ducks in the end, the day got away with me but I did manage to walk to the shops to buy some more fruit so did about a mile and a half but not really a hard walk... Hopefully the ducks can wait until tomorrow

My syns went to pot with the family get together yesterday but even so could have been worse and in past years has been. Difficult this time of year to have full control and I take my hat off to anyone who is managing that. We are all human and sometimes best laid plans don't work out but hey better than if we just cast caution totally to the wind :)

Popped out today to buy some veg at the local garden centre and ended up buying a lovely warm quilted coat in a size 14!!!

And I had a fleece on and I don't look like the Michelin man in it!

I gave up trying earlier this year as even the 16 was too small, I have been wearing my old ski jacket instead.

:D :D
