Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Sounds like a bit of it! It's a good sign. Just keep doing what you're doing, don't stop! If you haven't already though I would stick a few maternity pads and some clean pants in your bag though just in case you get caught out when you're out and about!
Eeeeeee, exciting! Xx

Thanks hun x we shall see. Haven't had any more since, just the usual discharge (although that's increased lately too). Just going to carry on carrying on and won't get too excited just yet. :)

Oh hunnie.. You're not having a nice time of it at all...
I get a sore bump every afternoon.. Feels like come 4ish baby decides to stick something sharp out and I'm being stabbed with it from the inside... By sharp I mean knee's/elbows/heels... And its not nice.. But once baby moves again.. Its fine.. So don't think its the same thing.. And its certainly not making me sick...
Are you able to keep hydrated at least? x

Hope the ickiness goes away x

Thanks, had a decent nap and feel better for it! :)

Just read that some EPO capsules contain cod liver oil.. Which we're not allowed have.. So just if anyone else is using/taking them... Be sure to check the pack!!!
I've nearly just had a heart attack as I never checked and been taking it a couple of weeks now!!

Ladies with babies....how long should a five week old be awake during the day?
I don't have any problems at all with Cole sleeping at night and he goes down easily, I can put him down awake and he'll just nod off. And he sleeps for 3.5 to 4 hours at a time. But during the day he fights sleep like mad. He just won't go to sleep on his own. I've tried playing music to him and white noise but he just sits and listens to them. He doesn't cry or anything, so he's not awake because he's in pain/hungry etc. He just won't sleep! I can get him to sleep by putting him in his pram or rocker chair but don't want to force him to sleep too much.
When he's awake we play, either on his musical mat, with a few noisy toys or he has tummy time, but I don't want to overstimulate him and make his grumpy!!
So how long do you girls reckon he should sleep in the day?

Don't know if anyone can remember as everyone is way further ahead than me but I started feeling nausea and threw up once around week 8 but now I'm 9+4 and don't feel as sick anymore? Just feels weird feeling slightly normal when I get up in the morning were as few weeks ago I was gagging and couldn't eat in the morning, do symptoms die down slightly towards week 10? Or am I just panicking? Xx

Hi hun x

Mine started at 8 weeks on the dot (sickness/nausea I mean) and was on an off until about 18 weeks. I say on and off because one day/week I'd be suffering, and the next id feel fine...then it would start up again lol. If you read back through my diary you'll probably read lots of "feel ok today...hope this is the last of it" just for it to return a couple of days later ;) x

It's perfectly normal to have symptoms that are on and off. You might be one of the lucky ones where it stops completely now :) try not to worry about it though, it's just hormones going up and down all the time and your body reacting to them. It's all normal xxx

Yea... You're panicking... But its perfectly fine and its perfectly normal to panic...
Honestly I had the very same... For a couple of weeks from 6-8 I was nauseous... For about then 9th week I was sick once a day... And from then I felt "normal" Didn't feel pregnant in the slightest.. I didn't even suffer the extreme tiredness you read about everywhere... I was terrified as all you hear is "bad morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy" and here was me feeling no different at all...
And now... Here I am... 38 weeks tomoro and baby rolling n wriggling and doing great....

Aw thanks for replying girls, makes me feel better knowing other people go through the same thing, because google doesn't help me it just makes things worse,I did read that things usually get better for some girls by week 12 but can't help that I feel good today and I feel like I shouldn't, then when I feel awful I think why did I wish these feelings back lol xx

It's a difficult one hun, every baby is different. Abigail always needed sleep and would sleep all day and night and even now at 7months she sleeps about 3hrs a day and 12 at night. However, a woman I've met at a baby group has a 4month old and he sleeps 9pm-9am with no daytime sleep apart from an occasional catnap and has done since he was 4 weeks old.......and he's fine! I would say if he's happy to lie and listen to music and chill for a bit then let him, he will soon tell you if he needs more. You might find as he starts doing a bit more he sleeps more during the day.
Xx

Thanks Hun. I just didn't want him to be awake all day if they need sleep. I can see his eyes rolling but he just keeps fighting it. Like I said though, we have no problems during the night and he only wakes for one proper night feed, ie 2am ish, so I won't worry too much. After I posted I put him in his pram just so I could make some dinner and within about 15 minutes he was asleep and woke up about half hour ago. He's had his bottle and fallen back asleep on me so watching the Biggest Loser and letting him sleep. Once it gets to about 7pm he refuses to sleep until about 10-11pm so I'll just let him sleep now :)

Wow, that's some good sleeping! Wish Seth liked his sleep more, unfortunately he takes after daddy who doesn't need much sleep. He fights sleep in the day and will only sleep either on me/Colin or in a moving pram and then only for a couple of hours. At night he sleeps anything between 3 and 6 hours overall. He's getting better at chilling out and relaxing in the day though, mainly because he's getting nosey and wanting to look at things! He was completely obsessed with a bunch of keys yesterday lol ;)

So as long as he's not acting overtired I tend to just let him go with what he wants to do for now. I keep having to remind myself that he is only 7 weeks old (despite the fact that it feels like he's never not been here!) and I can't expect a firm routine yet.

Susie - I was wondering if you might be able to shed some light on my labour ward visit tonight pretty please with cherries on top :)...the MW didn't really explain anything to me when asked...I hope you don't mind. I can't seem to copy and paste my post, but my diary is here if you don't mind having a read/comment?
