Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

I don't know if it's the same but with my diabetes I was told chocolate isn't as good as people think for getting your sugar levels up. They told me a mini can of full fat coke or half a dozen jelly babies is better. Then when the dizziness goes off have something carby like a slice of toast because carbs bring your blood sugars up. Might not be the same but just an idea :) xx

Carbs should be easy enough on SW then. Carbs always made my blood sugars shoot up, I had to cut down on them when I had my GD because they were messing my numbers up xx

At the brim means baby's head is just at the top of the pelvis ready to go down so he's heading in the right direction! Xx
Ahh ok thank you! So not quite engaged yet but ready to be. That's still good enough for me lol. Xx

I need some advice girls....

I think my waters may have just gone- I was throwing up when at the same time I was gushing out the other end! Right through my ST and down my legs.
Now very time I'm sick a little dribble tends to come out that end, so I didn't think much of it. But I'd been to the toilet 5 mins prior to that so I was technically empty!
I'm just not sure if it was a reaction to the retching or not...

What I want to ask is:
For those of you whose waters broke first, did you get contractions straight after or not at all?
And once they've gone, do they continue to gush out?

I've had pains in my lower back and they do seem a bit more intense but not overly frequent....

Help!

Ooh yay to waters going!! I can't tell you about contractions because they broke mine then put me straight on the drip to induce me. But it was still coming out of me all night!! X

Ring the hospital oh get checked they will tell you :) but it sounds promising x

I've had a quick wash- just water, just in case- and put a fresh ST on and I can feel a little trickle still...
But how am I supposed to know if it is that or not, when this is my first baby???

They can check your sanitary towel (yuk!) to know if it's waters apparently. I'd definitely ring the maternity ward and see waft they say :) xx

Sanitary towel for hour, if damp/wet then its waters :) x my waters kept coming out throughout labour and still had a big gush when Amelia was born!!!! Eeee :) x call labour ward as you have to be checked if they think waters have gone. They might send you home, but they like to see colour etc. :) How exciting!!!! Xxxx

Ok just rung the hospital and she said its sound very promising so I'm going in to be checked over.
I have 24 hours to go into labour on my own or they'll induce me.
If they haven't gone, they'll send me home.

I'm wearing a fresh ST, but is it worth taking my old one (it's in the bin wrapped up but I can get to it if needed)?
