Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Ok just rung the hospital and she said its sound very promising so I'm going in to be checked over.
I have 24 hours to go into labour on my own or they'll induce me.
If they haven't gone, they'll send me home.

I'm wearing a fresh ST, but is it worth taking my old one (it's in the bin wrapped up but I can get to it if needed)?

Yeah take it just in case they want to check! Good luck!! Xx

So sorry to hear that Kirsty :( :( Hopefully not long xxx

Ladies, what do I do with a baby who has done about 50,000 poos today?

Ok, slight exaggeration, she's done about 5 or 6, but still that's alot!!! I'm certain she's teething (and HV seems to think she is as well) but do I need to do anything different if she's pooing so much?? The first 3 or 4 were fine, but the last couple have been very runny. The sound of the one just now, was horrendous! Sounded mucky, and within seconds her babygro was soaked and so was my clothes (nice!). I've had to bin that babygro...there's no saving it! lol.

She seems fine in herself, just chomping lots on her hand and wanting her dummy all the time (maybe to help with the teething??) but I'm a bit worried about all this poo!

xxx

Don't worry hun, will settle down in a bit. Make sure you change her really frequently as I've found the really nasty runny poo can give her awful nappy rash really quickly. Metanium works really well. Fingers crossed it's just a little phase! Xx

Thanks Susie x Was just wondering if I needed to give her extra water or anything like that. She's absolutely fine in herself. Still smiley and chatty, just worried that milk is going too quickly through her and if I needed to do anything extra! xxxx

Wouldn't have thought so, just keep an eye on her. She might need extra milk but she will let you know! Xxx

This might sound daft but is there any way I can persuade Cole to take a dummy?? Can't believe I'm saying this, should be glad he doesn't want it really, but I've read that sucking is good for reflux and sucking dummies helps create extra saliva to hold off the acid. Whether it's true or not I don't know but worth a try!! I've already tried him with three different brands and teat sizes. He just chews them, gags then spits them out. He's only ever had one about a dozen times.

Does he like infacol Sarah ? I dip bens in his infacol as otherwise he just spits the infacol out. He then sucks his dummy for ages probably not what your HV would tell you but hey whatever works xx

My aunty used to put honey on the dummy or gripe water. Fingers crossed you can master the technique ?

Hi Sarah, what brands have you tried? The only reason I ask is that when we first gave Amelia a dummy she had the MAM ones and got on really well with them. Not really thinking, we bought her some more dummies but got the Tommee Tippee ones which are a different shaped teat bit. One night she was crying and crying and we couldn't work out why, but it's because she didn't get on with the TT dummy! Put her back on the MAM and she was absolutely fine! So she's been on MAM ever since x

It could just be the brand that he doesn't get on with, I know that doesn't help because there are bloody loads out there lol but you may find he prefers a certain shaped teat xx Good luck xx

He loves it! Plus it helps his wind. I'll give that a try, never thought. Thanks!!xx

I'm gonna try gripe water or infacol I think. You can't give a baby under 1 honey anymore I don't think. X
