Susie & Katie, as one of you is a MW and one a GP, I was wondering if you could help pls xxx I felt really sick all day yesterday and put it down to pregnancy, until about 4pm when my lunch came back up. I felt achey, and just really ill so I didnt think it was a morning sickness type thing. I'm then vomiting every 20-30 minutes until around midnight, not being able to keep food or water down and it was pretty bad the other end too. In the night I felt really crap: lightheaded and dizzy, severe tummy cramps, raised temp of 37.8 (usually im low 36's) and my whole body, particularly lower tummy and legs absolutely kills. Vomited again about 4:30am and then from about 5:30am - 7:30am got some sleep. Now, I dont feel so sick, but still my lower tummy, back and legs really hurt. Is this just a bug? or could it be signs of an ectopic pregnancy? (im just over 7 weeks) if its a bug, will it have done any damage to the baby? The vomiting was so violent x I do have a doc appt at 5pm today, but was wondering what your thoughts were xx thank you ladies xxx
Sorry you are feeling so rubbish. It sounds like a bug that's hit you hard and you are recovering. You can get vomitting and diarrhoea with an ectopic however the pain is usually one sided and often accompanied by bleeding. Have you got an early pregnancy unit you can call? As a mummy not a Dr I wouldn't rest until Id seen that everything is fine. It takes a lot to Cause damage to these little ones, I've seen people gone through horrific traumas in intensive care and their little bubbas fight on! But for your sanity I would go and get checked over xxx
Just had my first "my baby isn't moving" meltdown Her movements have been a bit muffled the last few days but I figured she was just hiding, and the movements were still there. This morning, no movement, not even a flutter. Tried lying down quietly in the hope she would give me a sign. Got the Doppler out and found her heartbeat quickly, good and strong, but still felt uneasy so called the mw who told me to go in. Thankfully she was able to reassure me. She found heartbeat quickly too and said it was good and strong. She could also feel baby's back and thinks her kicks are being directed to my gut so I wouldn't feel them... little monkey. I have to admit, I think all this Count The Kicks stuff in the news the last few days has made me over anxious... But if it helps one Mum then I guess it's for the greater good. Now I just need to try to get this baby to move and start kicking me properly, Mummy doesn't want these scares for the next 14 weeks...

Just a word of advice from when I was pregnant - if you have reduced movements...never rely on using your Doppler. What I was told by my MW (and other baby specialists) is that if there IS a problem....the heartbeat is actually the last thing to go and by then its obviously too late. If you get reduced movements and/or have concerns....it really is best to go get monitored in triage so that any problems can be picked up at an early stage Im really honestly not wanting to scare....but I just mean don't rely on your doppler if youre having reduced movements etc XXX
OMG... her cuteness should be illegal!!! Kerry.. She's gorgeous!!! Def a little mini Kerry.. xxxHappy Halloween girls from my little pumpkin
Oh Jess.. You poor thing.. Sounds awful.. The sore tummy n legs could be from muscles tensing when you being sick.. Hopefully all is OK and its a bug that's bitten and is gone soon..Susie & Katie, as one of you is a MW and one a GP, I was wondering if you could help pls xxx

Hugs.. its so scary when you have little/no movement but I agree with Joey.. Don't rely on your Doppler.. Always go in if you're worried.. Its a pain sitting around for hours waiting but always better to be safe than sorry...Just had my first "my baby isn't moving" meltdown

Yeh the mw actually said home dopplers can sometimes double Mum's heartbeat and can be inaccurate. Thanks for all the concern. Thankfully I was able to see mw straight away, the perks of living in an airbase I guess. Just hope that the movements become more regular and recognisable soon. I agree. This is the reason I didn't get a Doppler. I barely felt Cole move at all unless I poked or prodded him but they said that was just my placenta and as long as his pattern didn't change it was fine. Always best to go to the pregnancy unit to get a trace done though. Xx

I'd def get in touch with EPU.. Just for extra reassurance and as has been said, if the GP wants you to have a scan waiting over the weekend would be so worrying for you..
Big hugs hunnie.. Hope you feel better soon.. xxx

Joey I never looked at it like that but its makes total sense...
I loved my Doppler but honestly didn't rely on it.. I just loved laying in bed after a shower listening to my little bean.. best sound EVER!! xx
Have to agree. No one ever warns u how stressful and anxious pregnancy is. I assumed after the 12 week scan it would be plain sailing but it's been anything but. Keep saying to hubby I want baby here now but as he says, I'm sure the worry and angst will continue tenfold!! Xx
