Pregnancy and Slimming World

Purplehugs -Aw so sorry, I lost my baby before this one and concieved again within a month. The body is in pregnancy mode so the changes of concieving again are high. Good luck and hugs x

Congratulations, what an achievement with the weight and concieving. I know it's hard but try to relax, hope for the best and be happy X

issy1978;6272609]Hey guys - I never thought I would get to post in here but I'm a lucky lady apparently! Found out two days ago that I'm pregnant for the first time which was a massive shock to me and my husband as we'd been told back in January that our only hope was IVF due to his very low sperm count (4 million - the low end of normal is 15 million!). I was losing weight to meet NHS criteria for a referral, husband was taking vitamins to improve his count and suddenly here we are! Still in shock but we couldn't be happier. <3

I'm only 5+5 weeks so very very early days and the only people IRL who know are my mum and the in laws, we're not telling anyone else until we know that everything is ok. I'm so nervous that something will go wrong, we've worked so hard for this baby and I'm mega stressed about everything but trying to keep calm and positive!

I've been doing SW for a year now and have lost 5st 10lbs so far - I'm not gonna stress about putting some weight back on as a bit of a gain is inevitable but obviously I don't want to go mental and undo all my hard work and I know it'll be healthier in the long run to keep my weight under control.

I've not told my C yet of course so assuming that everything is just as you were SW-wise? I only do green days as I'm a veggie so I already have 2 x HEXA and HEXB and I guess this just stays the same? I know they recommend EE but there's no point me doing it really as I don't eat meat or fish.

Any advice for a slightly lost and confused newbie would be welcome! Hope everyone is well, healthy and happy xxx[/QUOTE]

I think I'm retaining water like there's no tomorrow I've been 100% on plan with long walks and bike rides plus plenty to drink and I'm gaining crazy amounts. Oh well it's 2 weeks to due date and then I can b feed and focus on getting the weight off cause I feel decidedly frumpy and fat!! This so called pregnancy glow has totally by passed me this trimester!! Ugh not feeling great. Hope you girls are all well x

I think the pregnancy glow is a myth.... I have never experienced it anyway.

So jealous your only two weeks out i am 29 weeks so have between 11/13 weeks left! Boo! X

Aw, thank you xxx I'm trying to chill but it's so hard! I have no idea what I'm doing and it's all a bit new and scary. I did a clear blue digital test today which relaxed me a bit just seeing the words, now it's just about getting to 12 weeks without going insane lol ;) x

I hope I get the glow later on, I feel grim now and it's getting worse every day so gonna need something to make up for it! I bumped into a friend in town today and the first thing she said to me was 'OMG, are you ok? You look awful!' lol x

Awww bless your heart. Just take one day at a time x

No glow here either!lol

Today started badly with my kids waking me at 7am after very little sleep. The rest of the day went down hill as they have been wee monsters. My dad came to take us out for an hour to keep me sane & I found a lovely maternity dress reduced to £10. Got home to find the hanger was my size but the dress is actually 3 sizes too small. Silly mistake to make with 2 kids going mad around me. Roll on bedtime :)

Hopefully everyone who's not feeling so rosy feels better soon xo

Thanks hun, trying to relax! I only plan on being pregnant once so I really want to enjoy it but I'm so nervous! The further I get the more I'll calm down hopefully.

You'll probably relax loads more once you've had your scan. I was terrified with Imogen and then once I saw that little face of hers I calmed right down. X

Hey huni, even third time round I have worried with every niggle etc but I've had my scan & already feel more relaxed. Its all new first time round & sometimes you might feel scared to get excited or believe it right away. Sign up to free groups that give out samples for things like cow & gate, hipp organic, bounty etc even if you don't plan to use their products you get to see what choices are out there.

All the best & hope you enjoy every moment xo

Thanks for the reassurance ladies - it does help! We've worked so hard for this baby and I just want everything to go well. I've got a couple of friends IRL whose first pregnancies ended in miscarriage and it scares me to death :/ It's difficult with husband too, he's so nervous and doesn't want to get his hopes up either so he is kinda detaching himself from it all which doesn't help.

Something odd happened today though - I remembered that I was booked for a tv ultrasound on 3rd May, was referred just before Easter as I was having random pains and was worried that it was something that would affect TTC (obv it wasn't!). So I called the hospital thinking that they'd tell me I couldn't go now but they still want to see me if my GP agrees, just waiting for an answer from the GP. I know it won't be a proper early pregnancy scan as it's for something else entirely but do you reckon they'd take a look and put my mind at rest a bit? When I told husband he sounded so relieved - he's just as scared as me I think bless him.

Hope everyone is feeling ok today - for my part I'm horribly uncomfortable at work with back ache and cramps and although I've not been sick yet I'm definitely getting a bit reflux-y! All good signs hopefully :) xxx

I would have hoped so but have been put off by the duty doctor and now have to speak to my GP on Friday as she's off work at the moment :/

Has anyone experienced braxton hicks???????? What do they feel like! I get a tightening inu stomach every now and then it's not regular but I was wondering if that's it!!!

I have. It's tightening sometimes even feels like it makes you breathless! It shouldn't be all that painful x

Aaaargh typical isn't it x

Well having said that I got a call straight back from another doctor who was absolutely lovely and said that I should go to the scan and she thinks they'll let me look at baby too! I'll be 8 weeks by the time of the appt so they should be able to tell me if all is well or not. I feel massively relieved, I really do! x
