Pregnancy and Slimming World

Oh cheeky - how annoying to get to hospital with regular contractions and then for them to stop! Fingers crossed that you have a good night and baby makes it's appearance tomorrow at a decent hour for you hun, am thinking of you.

Fern - it could be the chocolate and coke withdrawal rather than pre-eclamsia. I was in the high risk cat as my mum had it with both her pregnancies but I've never developed it at all. I would prob advise a chat with your midwife about how you're feeling at the mo though as they should be aware just in case it's a sign of something else.
Also means they can keep an eye on things for you and give you a check just in case it's your blood pressure. Take care hun and I'd advise not driving until things settle down a bit as well.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Why would they not be safe? their wee faces wouldn't be covered for long, if at all? I don't think they need to be hooded, I think its just peoples preference.

If in doubt just use a bath towel?

I had a small hand towel for mine lol the baby towel were just too huge I could have fitted all of their body in the hood lol but my babies were 5lb 1/2oz, 2lb 12oz and 4lb 15.5oz Hugs Crystal xx

Cheeky - good luck will be thinking about you, all excited for you!

Fern - oh chocolate withdrawal perhaps? - hope its not pre eclampsia. All this talk of packing bags ready just made me really panick!!! lol , No idea when to start buying stuff for baby, still doesn't feel real though i feel like i've been pg for ages!! Need to hang on till 20 wk scan where hopefully i'll find out sex of baby then i can start planning and filling my boots of all the baby stuff my sister has lol! shes desperate to get rid of it all for the space!

Just ordered my first lot of mat stuff off New Look, still fitting in my normal clothes atm but need new stuff badly!

Last night shift till back off mat leave woop woop!!!!

JoJo you buy stuff when you feel ready - I don't think there's a right or wrong time. I was buying gender neutral stuff after first scan, gender specific after 20 weeks. Still not got everything though, in no rush :)

Thanks Lexi, just had a mad panic reading about everyone buying stuff lol! Think i'm losing the plot or maybe its night shifts!

bunny - the hooded baby towels are fine for use with a newborn - the idea is to stop them losing alot of heat from their head when they have been in a nice warm bath and come into the cooler air of the room. It doesn't cover their faces, they also don't last too long as baby very wuickly grows out of them to be honest.

Jojo - just go with what feels right for you - I'm still buying stuff for mine at the moment - only got the monitor today - am about to go and have a play with it actually. And I've still not got a breast pump or any bottles either yet.

Baby is kicking well tonight - and I have heartburn so am off to take some peptac liquid to help with that!

I have started nuying bits and pieces. I panick I might be too exhausted but I have eased up a bit and going get some more bits after my honeymoon in July. But not buying big stuff like cot etc till 33wks lol :)

Haha that was my plan until I caught the shopping bug!! Plus there were offers around I just couldn't resist. I probably won't be getting any furniture until after 30 weeks... unless I spot a bargain!!

I bought a load of baby bits from Primark - very cheap. And they do the hooded towels in there, can't remember how much though. They've got bargain babygrows too - I didn't pick any up as we've inherited lots but worth a look if you want clothes. I think they were selling 7 vests or 3 button through sleepsuits for £7

Baby towels from Primark are £4, hooded towel and washmitt.

I've bought in baby clothes - I can't resist it! Nappies when on special, both reusable and disposable, baby wipes (on special and through Clubcard offers) and a microwave sterilisre (again on special).

Pram because it was a second hand one for full travel system for £100.

Crib/cot etc and any other bits left til shopping trip out on 30th June.

Thanks Lexie - I couldn't remember how much I paid for it as I picked up loads in the one shop!! The reversible blankets they do are really nice too - think they were £8. Got a nice neutral one, white on one side with colourful little jungle animals on the other.

Wow what a bargain on your travel system Lexie!! You must have been very pleased

Tesco does some really nice basic white babygros and vests, they don't shrink like the primark ones. Primark are great for blankets, socks, towels and stuff like that but there clothes run really small. Logan can still wear 6-9 and 9-12 month clothes from tesco, asda and quite a few other places but we just bought him a load of 12-18 month stuff in primark and after one wash it was useless. He will be 2 in August but he's teeny weeny still wears size 4 nappies. I think the only thing I need to get is a twin pushchair and a load of clothes once we find out the gender, I have everything else already I never got around to getting rid of anything except clothes when Logan was born. Hugs Crystal xx

Well ladies I'm still here! It's been 24 hours since I had the sweep and after my contractions going I'm back to the general aches/pains of pregnancy with a wriggly baby lol

I'm rather disappointed, so unless baby arrives between now and my inducement date, I'll be going in on 8th June, not my ideal choice but at least I know I'll be in hospital and baby will arrive.

Hope your all ok x

Gutted :( thought you were on your way :(

8th June - worst case scenario 5 more days/4 sleeps. :)

I found a sleep suit from asda and it is so adoreable, I could not resist to show you :) I am going to limit the amount of stuff anyhows as I wrote a list out and don't want to spend loads as my friend say they grow really fast. Love Next for babystuff even if it is slightly pricer side.
