Pregnancy and Slimming World

What can I do or take to help with this dead leg syndrome I seem to get when in bed!!!! I've tried pillows, eating bananas but still have restless, heavy legs! It's driving me insane and effecting my sleep big time! Boo

Nothing you can do darling :( I'm suffering with you x

What's the deal with sweetener during pregnancy? My midwife has advised me that I should not be having any sweeteners but most SW friendly sweet things are full of it! I never even gave it a thought until she just said now I'm riddled with guilt as I do have alot of sweetener in my drinks, always go for diet drinks and low fat yoghurts, bars etc! Apparently it can be bad for the baby! Has anyone else heard this?!?!?

I was reading something on the babycentre website this morning which said cramp and dead legs can be helped by being properly hydrated. Don't know if that helps??

Hmmm I've never heard anything of the sort?? I've had sugar free juice sweeteners for past 15 years and it didn't do my 2 year old any harm.. I was watching something re aspartame on BBC a while back and the professor was saying it was one of the most tested food substances so surely if it was dangerous in pregnancy this would be widely advertised? Just my thoughts xx

Oh I hope sweetner's ok 2 use as I always have sum Splenda on my porridge 4 breakie at work! I don't use sweetner at any other time tho n generally don't drink many fizzy drinks so hopefully it'l b ok. Also I always use Splenda as I was under the impression it was "better" than other types of sweetner as it's made from sugar!?!?

I use Splenda in porridge etc but I do eat mullers drink sugar free juice occasional coke zero all loaded with sweetners :) x

Yeah it does help I've always drank at least 2 litres of water a day so no problems there! It seems to be worse if I've done a long drive so I'm elevating my legs more before bed to see if that helps! X

Perhaps it's something new I don't know! I've rang and left a voicemail for a slimmingworld consultant to ask but a few people have said it to me today that its best to use honey/sugar ect when pregnant than it is sweetener but I don't know perhaps its just one of them things! They always being our new things to avoid as a precaution! I'd google it to see but I'm away and Internet access is pretty crap where I am! Boo

Aww its so wonderful seeing baby bouncing about at early scans, i still remember my surprise scan at 10 weeks to see her bopping around! x Is your nausea and sickness better now x

I wish, my nausea is not so intense but when I brush my teeth it makes me feel so sick :/ hope you and your daughter get better soon x

The heart burn is getting me down now :( x

I know that feeling! The only thing that touches mine is the gaviscon cool! And it's the bloody most expensive I got some tablets off the doctors but you can only take 1 every 10 days which freaked me out abit as they must be super strong so I know gaviscon doesn't cause any problems! Milk sometimes help, I totally understand how tough it is! I teach so when I'm trying to talk sometimes the heart burn can be that bad it takes my breath! :( boo! But other than this and the achy legs my pregnancy is great I shouldn't complain really, some really struggle with sickness and all sorts :/
