Half day at work as piping a funeral this afternoon (in work in my kilt...fun times) but it's not until 3 so will do some walking before it!

Was the funeral good? Sounds wrong, but you know what I mean!

It was aye! By that I mean painless! The weather was lovely, the surrounders great (I love cemeteries/crematoriums as they are so quiet and peaceful...can only hear the odd car and the brids chirping) and I played for about 5 minutes all in, including tuning up! Not a bad way to spend a half day holiday from work, and get paid for it :D

I hinted this to miss Nic the other day on twitter but here it goes here;

Pre-weight gain weight loss

The above theory is tried and tested for me and is one I am doing again.

Basically last December I started it at a comfortable weight so what I decided to do was lose as much as I could from then to Christmas Eve and then totally enjoy Christmas. I think I lost 4lb in the run up if memory serves right and put on 7lb over Christmas, net damage of 3lb which was quickly cleaned up.

From mid-July to the end of August I have the following things happening;

  • Week off work and down home for the arrival of The Tall Ships Race (Tall Ships Races Greenock : Home)
  • My mates wedding
  • A Fri-Sun in Northern Ireland with the pipe band which also is during my birthday
  • The Piping Live festival in August (Piping Live! | Glasgow International Piping Festival) in which the band are doing 2 big concerts (Renfrew Ferry then the Clyde Auditorium) during the week, which I also have off work
  • The World Pipe Band Championships the Saturday after the piping live week. - The biggest event in the calendar
  • And 4 days in Asturias, Northern Spain at a pipe band festival, flying out 4 days after the World Pipe Band Championships
After that normality will resume. But I know that during this time it could be very easy during any of these events to stray away from watching myself and if I done it at all of them the results could be disastorous.

So I am back to some serious pointing as of Monday and will be doing a weigh in every Monday night straight after work (as opposed to the morning, so I expect a higher than expected weight on the first one).

I am also going to go from 21 points down to 18. This wont be as big a jump as it seems, I will simply be changing my lunch from the 4.5 points it currently is down to 1.5 by taking out the cous cous and bringing in a big salad instead. I'm also going to stop having 4 slices of bread (2 points) and have 2 instead. So I don't see there being any struggle with it.

I'm confident that I am now so in control of what I eat that I can stick to this. Today and tomorrow will be the normal 21 points then Monday it's on! And I'll also post WI results here again!

Oh and for lunch there I had a bowl of peas and a jelly...so zero :)

well you certainly have your head screwed on about all this...a real inspiration, honestly, im not just saying it....I read your diary on here all the time, as well as a lot of other people's diaries, and it really helps...and im sure im not the only one! Im gonna get to the same point as you are....one day, i know I will...and when I get there I hope ill have the same frame of mind that you have :)

Cheers everyone for the back-up and not saying I'm off my head...means a lot :)
