There are some I quite like but can get why others don't like them.

Stayed the same this week, can live with that as Friday evening probably murdered it despite the walking to make it up.

So I'm gonna work really hard this week for a good loss and get bang in the 10s. 1lb will do me, 1.5lb would be great and 2lb would mean another silver 7! So we shall see what is done!

Tea was;

Spaghetti - 5
Meatballs - 2.5
Pasta sauce - 1
Garlic bread - 3
Toast - 1
Crisps - 1

17.5 so far.

Going to try and use only another 2.5 so I can save 3 points to the 5 I already have for Friday night.

The upside to not dropping is I'm still bang on 11, meaning I am still 23 points so I have that for another week...every cloud ;)

Also, an odd thing happened at the meeting tonight which surprised me.

Don't know how similar all meetings are but for ours we were put in to groups of 5 or so, giving 20 points and we were going on a night out, with a different one for each group. We were going to a chinese and we were to plan the whole day.

It was myself and 4 older ladies. None of who had their glasses so I decided to write the stuff down, which instantly meant I had to put in some input, which I tend not to do.

So they start talking and looking at the books etc then one says "ok breakfast" and they all start talking about it.

So I just sit there and go "ummm, how about we plan the chinese first then work from there with what points we have left".

They looked at me as if I had discovered the holy grail of weight watchers. So we worked through it getting the whole chinese meal first, then breakfast then lunch and it actually wound out we had a point left (that I put to a vodka and diet coke) and the chinese was a starter, main and dessert. They then went on about how I should start planning everyones weeks out.

I just wonder some times if a lot of people work this way when they know they have plans. People who read this know fine well I plan very well in advance (such as the current saving of points I'm doing for Friday) and never like to go over my points and then try and earn them back. Any time that happens it ends messily.

I don't want to sound like a leader or something but planning is the key to it all, and I have always planned. My mate says I sometimes borderline on OCD with it. But I don't like the give myself reason going to a weigh in of why I might put on etc.

Most of the time it is simple with me; Breakfast no more than 5 points. Lunch is almost always 4.5 (as I know what I like!). 10 for a main meal is my usual then 3 or so left depending on little variances in my points.

I think some people just dive head-first in to it.

Do I just go OTT on it or am I on to something?

Toast - 1
Crisps - 1

19.5 for the day.

3.5 saved so now 8.5 saved for Friday :D

Hey Pugs, yep your system def works and I do use the same system to an extent!!! haha!!!

like monday there, went for chinese aft w/i and most people might have thought just go all out, got rest of week to lose any excess!! But i sat and worked out starter and main then as you say worked my b/f and lunch around it and it worked. I do generally stick to the same sort of things thru the week but come the weekend my prep kinda goes out the window.

But keep doing what your doing cos it is certainly working young man and you are doing fabby!!!!..xxx

Cheers, just like to know it isn't just me ;)

Porridge - 3
Toast - 1

With ref to you post - not everyone finds it easy to have the willpower 100% 24/7, as with women especially, there are alot of other factors that have lead to weightgain apart from just eating a bit too much of the wrong things.
I realise you will question the actual desire to lose the weight in the 1st instance as not being strong enough, but really it is not as simple as that - as you have seen by the exersice with 4 older women.
Women think in different ways, have different emotions & find more than men that food is more than just fuel.
Not everyone is happy to eat the same things day in day out or indeed ready meals for every tea & women especially like to cook from scratch with variety & have families etc.

Your way obviously works well for you & thats good but not everyone would be able to do that & while I agree wholeheartedly that planning is the key to weightloss whatever the method, there will always be other factors involved & there will always be times when people don't have the strength 100%. Unfortunately,as much as everyone who needs to, wants to lose weight, it is reality that some people find it harder than others.

Social occassions & eating etc are very big business these days & with stresses of everyday lives, they are very important to many many people - such occassions of chinese, party or whatever do occur & people will & do sway from the WW road & not be 100%.
Maybe you are unique in your attitude, but the "diet" industry is big big business also for this reason.

Alot of folk will & do have things that they shouldn't have while on a WW plan - that is how it is I'm afraid. It doesn't make them wrong or bad. The important thing is that they will get their eventually & learn things along the way.

An excellent reply Fritz. I'll try and reply to all your great points

I'm not really talking about willpower though, just about thinking in advance, which did seem like a foreign notion to who I was sitting with which surprised me.

I do understand different strokes and all that but I do also believe that if going in to a diet programme where you pay money to be a part of it then it should be considered important to you. If you are not going to be dedicated - to a degree as we all slip from time to time - then why go at all? Just seems a waist to me. I do have a lot of things that mean I have to deviate from my normal stuff but I do manage to work around it.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean you can't see it coming in advance and work before it, as I tend to do with nights out by saving points.

Unfortunately,as much as everyone who needs to, wants to lose weight, it is reality that some people find it harder than others.

Believe me I know, if I had the motivation I have now when I was 14 I would have had this problem fixed long before now and now had to deal with it through high school.

Social occassions & eating etc are very big business these days & with stresses of everyday lives, they are very important to many many people - such occassions of chinese, party or whatever do occur & people will & do sway from the WW road & not be 100%.

They do occur, and I am part of these things to as is everyone. It just takes 5 minutes of sitting down and thinking it through, as we did last night. We had our day sorted in 5 minutes.

Maybe you are unique in your attitude, but the "diet" industry is big big business also for this reason.

I don't know if unique is the way to put it, I'd say I'm just completely determined now in what I want.

Alot of folk will & do have things that they shouldn't have while on a WW plan - that is how it is I'm afraid. It doesn't make them wrong or bad. The important thing is that they will get their eventually & learn things along the way.

I agree completely. I just feel a lot of people are making it more difficult for themself by not working towards a night out etc before hand. Rather deciding to think about it afterwards or even deciding their week is ruined because of it.

I'm not having a go at anyone about it. We are all at WW for the same reason. It was just an observation that really surprised me when they all - and I don't know if age matters, I just mentioned that because that was the reason I had to do the writing as none of them had their glasses - seemed shocked at how planned I was.

*wipes sweat from brow* Done :)

Lunch

Cous Cous - 3
Soup - 0.5
Crisps - 1
Jelly and Tomatoes - 0

8.5 so far today.

Hey Puggs. I don't find i plan all the time as i often change my mind on what i fancy to eat. I tend to break it down into points that i can use for different times of day. However special events i'm totally about the planning (ie chinese or going out) so i guess it's just about getting a balance. I would find planning everything in advance too restricting all the time.

I'm glad that works for you though and it definitely does work. Just thought i'd contribute to the debate. Fear not about a STS you will be in the 10s no prob next week :) xxx

If im having something really high for dinner i always work my points backwards too! *high five*
