Purple Hugs - Babe in arms!!

Thanks Sunflower :) Fingers x'd baby listens and my body too! lol

Am really happy to say had a successful short shopping trip this morning! :D
We had ear marked a mirror in B&Q for our bedroom and some small pic frames (3 for 3 children ;) ). Well we are now sporting them on our bedroom walls! :D So pleased about the mirror as nearest I've seen like it was 3x the price in next! lol
We've decided to not do the floor till after baby has arrived / xmas is out of the way.. sounds strange I'm sure, but I'm paranoid about keeping the room a mess for too much longer, and also about my waters going on the new floor! DH is RUBBISH at mopping up! lol

So.. now he has 2 little jobs left and I can start getting baby bits in, and my bag packed at last! lol

Hips / legs are killing me after sitting on my ball, so going to have to lessen the time and take it easy on it! lol Will be great for riding though I'm sure! :D might have a better 'seat' come spring!! lol

Erin is away on a sleepover tonight, feels so strange as LO is in bed, and just DH and I. I can't imagine life when the kids have grown up.. thankfully it's a long way away! :) And I'll still have DH who reassured me when I voiced this through that he's still a kid now so nothing will change in 20 years or so! lol He's right of course. :D

I must admit I never found my ball any good, if anything I found it made me worse because my pelvis was already very unstable so sitting on an unstable surface only irritated it further!

Hmm, am moving better this morning not having sat on it for 36 hours now I must admit. Blimey my hips were killing me on Thursday night when I went to bed! lol
will try it for 10 mins later, then leave it again and build up if it feels 'right' to see if I just overdid things or need to just use it as a prop for birth. lol

Had period pains last night - baby was playing around inside my pelvis somewhat I think too as could feel the odd tickle or twinge. lol
Lower back is a bit sore today but have had a lovely walk without BH except for one hill that couldn't be avoided and wasn't too steep. :) Lovely walking in the woods seeing the change of seasons with the dogs, DH and LO. Eldest is at sleepover then going shopping into town with her friend.
Have ironed a pair of full length curtains for the living room which DH has hung now. Our curtains for our room will go up after lunch - rail is up now and got DH to relocate a bookcase into our room. He immediately put tools on it, but I've had him move them and take some to the shed he's no longer needing.. honestly he's terrible for 'seeing' clutter! lol
Have a couple of baskets to go on the bookcase and will have baby bits on it - it's pretty wide and a solid Ikea one. So will make do till we get different storage sorted for babies room in a few months.
Feels great to see our room looking sooooo much smarter. Even without the flooring being sorted.

Well better dash, stir fry for lunch then more chores to do. lol

31 weeks already tomorrow! amazing how quick the weeks are going in.

Well.. money seems to be flowing out of my life at the moment... Took girls to trampolining tonight for the first time. Planned to pay £75 next week for them both to finish the 6 week course - as thought it was good for them to be inside in winter, but have an interest leading up to baby so they're not so bored when the holidays hit and I'm restricted on not going anywhere.
Anyway.. got home and found a lump on my dogs throat!! :( He's a 6 year old norfolk terrier, it's a fair size attached to his windpipe by the feel of it, so called my Sister whos a vet nurse for advice, he's acting / eating etc fine, and had a lovely run today and sat sunning himself in the garden earlier so not feeling rough. Am going to wait till monday to take him to the vet but she said to not feed him and call them first thing. Could be an absess or problem with his saliva gland but also will be biopsied she expects.
Am going to try not to stress as I know baby doesn't need it but truly truly hope it's not a worst case scenario. Ironic thing is DH and I commented the other week about the fact he's NEVER been to the vet for anything other than his injections (I get wormer and flea stuff from my sister at a discount). Where as our JR is a frequent visitor lol.
Fingers x'd we didn't tempt fate.
My sister has just found out a couple of days her JR may well have a heart murmur.. :( and said if it's confirmed then it'll drastically 'limit her life'. She's 7 already so really hope it's not confirmed. :( My sister hasn't got kids and her JR is very much her baby!
so next week could be looking for £125 toward vet bill - thankfully he's insured and I have a cap on the excess.

I love going on our trampoline with the girls too! lol my LO couldn't understand why I couldn't go on with her when I found out I was pregnant! :p

Fingers x'd about my dog indeed. He's a big part of our family and is a right character so we'll do all we can for him and thankfully insurance will help with this.
I'm taking him at 9am tomorrow as don't have the cash for the excess till then - they won't see him till then as he's feeling fine and it's only 1 day. Should know more on their initial thoughts then at least.

Not sure on the birthing balls I must confess. I think they do more than you think! lol which is good but it's left me really sore, so waiting for that to go and then will sit on it for about 10 mins at a time to build up I think. I spoke to someone online about them and she said that an hour was way too much initially (which is what I did for a couple of days). Will definately help eventually though and also after I think for my balance and muscles leading up to riding again! ;)

If you get a ball, it's worth getting an electric pump too! Took hubby ages to inflate mine. They are good for getting baby into the right position (anterior as oppose to posterior) and also for doing pelvic floor exercises on.

What exercises do you do shel? I've not read up on it, was just sitting - and ended up aching! lol

lol at the pump.. we got a tiny little one with it (argos £6.99 the ball was by pro fitness in blue or silver - i got silver). anyway.. we have pumps for the airbeds when camping, could only find the one that goes in the car so sent DH out there to pump it up! lol

And thanks kirsty for your thoughts on dookie dog. :) I'm not taking raspberry tea or tablets, not sure if I'll bother to be honest. Baby will come when she comes. I didn't do anything with eldest and she came 5 days late naturally.

I have been getting a little panicky about xmas day and 'what if' I get transferred to hospital on xmas day.. we have no family or friends here and my sister had said she'd be her for xmas then just after, well now she's not coming down to London till 29th so will be coming over to us after that - likely the 30th/31st for new year. Am a bit gutted but can hardly say it to her. She was going to look after the girls for us if I had to go to hospital but also during birth. Now if I get transferred DH is gonna be torn as what do we do with the girls?
If it's xmas day I can hardly drop them at a neighbours.

well am off to college in a while - have been busy getting some baby bits into our bedroom again :) feels good to have a unit full of bits n' bobs from nappy nippas to clothes! :D Am getting DH to put up the cot soon, moses basket will live inside it.

Thanks kirsty, had a great night really got my teeth into a topic and did well in a test. Not worth anything except for my self esteem! lol
Will be weird not going next week as it's half term. And even stranger to think at the end of the next half term my baby will be almost due!! :D

Hows your tutor getting on now? Does he seem to have a better grasp on things now? lol!

Sorry to hear that your dog might be unwell but it's a good sign that he's eating fine etc. But fingers crossed all turns out well.

Birthing balls, I think I want to get one, but not sure. Hmmm! You used it enough to recommend it??

xxxxx

Thanks abbie, yes it was a good class with the new tutor so fingers x'd continues that way. He's a little scatty in a good way! lol

Thankfully all is well with my dog! :D
Took him to the vet and it was a big absess.. vet did the 'deed' and drained it. He's on anti-biotics now for 10 days, have to keep the wound open and clean to allow draining and let it heal from the inside out.
Am SO relieved really can't imagine not having him around - even DH said on the way back it would have been a sadder xmas without him. DH was up at 5.30am this morning and came to the vet with me, which was just as well as I had a dizzy spell toward the end as it was so hot in the room - I went out and sat down for a bit. Not like DH to be so worried though he's never been to the vets before with any of our animals bless him.

As for the birthing ball - jury is out for me, but I think it will work just in short doses - I just over did it and still have a sore groin on the right leg. Must've pulled something on it I think. So start off REALLY small time wise and see how you go. I got mine (gym ball) from Argos for £6.99. My eldest loves watching tv on it! lol and LO is always asking to go on it! lol

Glad your dog is okay PH.

We have two dogs. A whippet/beddy cross and a whippet/greyhound cross.

We also worry sick when they are ill. We are real dog people. In fact OH is sitting on the sofa watching "The Dog Whisperer" at the moment.

No one rates the ball then? I'm not sure what I'm going to do to try and keep fit. I do like swimming but never really fancy dragging myself out on cold dark nights to do it especailly as I'd have to travel 30 mins to get there and then 30 mins back again.

Alex

Glad your dog is ok, it's a worry when you find something like that on them isn't it? Thank goodness it was just an abcess!!

I took rlt with jocels, started at 32 weeks.. Didnt help my contractions at all while being induced BUT my lochia afterwards was very scant and lasted only a few days - this was put down to my rlt, especially as my uterus involuted very quickly too!!

bums thats what I missed off my shopping list, rlt. i don't do tea though, are the tablets any good? mind with my plumbing they prob wouldn't get absorbed. will pack hubbs off for some tea later, can you get it in normal supermarkets?

Thanks all - Alex - I think the ball will come in handy and obviously does work - I just didn't realise how well! lol Am starting to sit on mine for 5 mins a day as my back has started aching and I think the ball will help it. :) So don't dismiss it, just build up slowly! lol

Shell - 33 weeks already my goodness time is ticking by for sure! :D

Have been having ISP problems again blooming BT just seems to flake out on my wireless now and then for a couple of days at a time, drives me nuts.

I'm feeling good apart from back ache and a bit of lower pelvic pain, Which must just be general aches now I think. Still active though. :)

Baby is really active still and kicks right up into the top of my bump now! lol She has discovered she can play with my pelvis too - she likes my right hip! lol It's funny when she does it as she must hit a nerve or cause a mini tidal wave in there as my whole bump jolts to the left! looks mad!! Graham felt her kicking last night when we were laying facing each other, he didn't have a hand on my bump just his own stomach! lol She seems to be sleeping better though so that's good news. :) I'm up 3 - 4 times a night of course, but hey-ho!

Well maybe I should be getting RLT tablets if it helps uterus to contract after birth.

I weighed this morning.. and am dead on 15 stone. Bearing in mind I was 13st 1lb at 11 weeks that is a BIG gain. :( But hey-ho it'll go eh! lol

Also found another breast feeding group - not any closer, but more rural so may well go to that one rather than the one in the big town. It's attached to a welsh play group which would be lovely to start babys welsh learning early. My LO is very welsh these days! lol
