Purple Hugs - Babe in arms!!

well.. after the MW appointment and going on my Iron tablets I'm trying to eat as many Iron rich foods as I can, and drink orange juice etc.
I had a terrible spell of lack of breath this morning - just walked up the stairs. Think it surprised my DH as he was behind me. I had to sit on the bed for 5 mins to breath through it.. :(
Am truly wondering if I'm wise thinking of a home birth - but I'd really like one. I will have to see what my Iron levels are when I'm tested in 10 days time. If they are low I will ask to go into hospital I think - just in case. I know that my test was 'borderline' last time at 28 weeks but if it's below 10.5 well all other areas insist on hospital births. Will see how things go.

Bought a new bucket for nappies yesterday and some more cotton wool for that lovely meconium stage! lol

other than that not a lot done baby wise, need to pack my hospital bag.. but have been saying that for a while! lol

Braxtons are regular as anything, and going on when I'm sitting now too. lol

MW measured me at 36cm and started hinting about my dates being behind.. I did laugh at her though as I know my LMP and 2 weeks wouldn't 'fit'. She just smiled.. I guess she still thinks she's right! I wouldn't moan at going 2 weeks early.. she made me promise to go to hospital if I go into labour before 37 weeks 'in case' my dates are right. lol Am starting to think maybe I won't be late.. we'll see.

Well apart from all that... not much going on other than coping with the flooding and high winds at the horse yard and LO's birthday tomorrow - we're off to a party at 2.30pm today for a friend of hers, and then tomorrow at 4pm it's her party at a local restaurant / pub that has an indoor play area / zone. We invited 17 thinking a lot wouldn't come but so far everyone has said yes! lol will be a busy party I think! lol

glad all is well with bump and very active I see lol hope you enjoyed the party x

Thanks hun, we had a lovely time. :)
Having a lovely day today for LO's birthday - she's 5 today. :)
So far have done present opening, took her for a ride on her new bike, seen our horse - who was extra loving and mucked out, taken the dogs for a run on the beach and had a blustery walk and had a party lunch with cake. lol Off for a party at 4pm gotta bath the girls and iron a few bits before we go. I'll sleep well tonight! lol

I'm 35 weeks today - so here's a new pic ;)

Thanks :) as you can tell it was blooming windy / cold but a great walk.

Well my poor body must've been ultra tired, as I had braxtons right into the early hours every 5 mins when I timed them. :( They were sore but not 'too' sore if you know what I mean.

Kept an eye on them as wasn't sure if I should contact hospital but to be honest I'd have wanted them to be a lot worse for that to happen as really couldn't have handled going up for monitoring. Baby was moving around so I know she's fine and she's moved around a bit this morning already too.

Just time to take things slow from now on in I think. LO's birthday was always going to be a manic day.

Bless you I'm sure you look fab! Bikini wearer that you are and all! ;) ((Hugs))

I hope bump doesn't come early.. or not too early anyhow. I'm starting to get my head around the fact it is POSSIBLE especially after last MW Appointment. and also have read that low Iron can bring on early labour.. So we'll see. At least I'm at a 'good' gestation so don't really have to fret.

We are hoping to go to an animal park / amusement place 40 miles away in a fortnights time to take the girls to see santa - I can't tell you how poor our local one is. It's 18 miles from me to the hospital and then another 22 to the attraction so am going to pack my notes that day just in case! lol But other than that am not planning anything far away or 'big' now at all. I will be good that day and not walk too far though just in case. lol I obviously won't be going on any rides!! lol

lol bet Alan loves it! ;)
And yes I'm pretty much prepared.. still not packed a bag.. really hoping I don't have to! :p terrible I know.
Have just called mw - put it on the braxton thread.

And yes.. holding bags and waving / taking pics will be my 'job' but we're not going to do the whole park just some key bits this time around it'll be about seeing father xmas and have a lovely lunch thrown in! lol

I have had a bag packed since last week, as I have had to be checked over at the big hospital twice in 10 days & on both occasions they said to bring an overnight bag. The first time I had little ready, was a lot more organised when told to come in last week. My bag has everything in it now. I will not be caught off guard =)

Angie sorry you've had to go back - whats going on?

I really must pack it.. I know..

Good news is for tonight BH have eased, although I have a problem with the toileting dept now (tmi sorry - but very loose). So hoping thats not pregnancy related and just one of those things or due to the tablets i'm on for iron.

Hypno birthing mp3 helped ease the braxtons - I had a lie down for an hour with a relaxation mp3 then a doze for a bit.

Fingers x'd stay pain free for a bit now.

had to go in 3 weeks ago cos couldn't feel baby move and dr thought I was carrying too much water (called poly hydrosomething), then last week was driving home from an all day meeting and got really stinking headache, popped into my gp's at 5.15pm to check my bp and wee, had elevated bp and a little protein in water, she said I had tohave this checked out at the big hospital and might need to stay in the overnight

as it was the mw on duty were fairly dismissive (one said 'oh it's probably only a migrain' ....I don't get migraines?!) and the other said if there was a problem my mw would have highlighted it (I think that is unlikely as she doesn't even know my name)

I felt they were ignoring the fact that I wasn't there because I wanted a fun evening attached to monitors and having my bloods done (I was there till midnight ergh!), but that my gp was concerned and again felt I probably had polyhydrothingy and needed a check for pre-eclampsia

sorry rambled a bit there! anyway, have had bag half packed for a while cos I came out at 32 weeks and realised that it was a remote chance I could need to go in early, was a shock when told to come in and bring overnight stuff with me 3 weeks ago....had forgot to get any more prepared by last week, when gp said to go straight into hospital I had to go via tesco's as I had no under wear(tmi) as it was all in the washing machine! I stopped and got 10 pairs of new big cotton pants and lots of socks, a spare bra and snacks. They are now safely in my hospital bag by the back door! anyway as I said in another post, need to go back to bed as typing at nearly 5 in the morning isn't going to prepare me for my day at work lol!
bye for now =)

Aww sorry you were up again at 5am.. nearly joined you here at 4am too! lol

I must admit I had my bag packed with Erin long before now, and do keep telling myself to pack mine - especially laying in bed last night with BH for the 2nd night in a row!

Has your BP settled / headaches eased? I can't believe how shoddy your MW is honestly she'd drive me nuts!! ((Hugs))
Shame you coulnd't have transferred clinic to escape her, but i know it's not as easy as that.

well I had BH for another hour last night in bed - 5 mins apart. breathed through them (thank god for hypno birthing book and mp3's i tell ya) and dropped off after 00.30 as they died down.

Another 1 week and 5 days till I can stay home if anything happens.. baby stay put please! ((Hugs)) She was fidgeting like a good un during the BH last night pretty low down by my naval again so maybe they're happening when she's more engaged.. I'm not sure.

Well.. am glad to say only tiny BH's - normal ones - for the last 24 hours!! no regular ones at all! :D PHEW! lol
Have had a lovely day - went to a coffee shop with DH and a friend from our Welsh course we did a couple of years ago this morning. Was lovely to catch up and she's going to go with me to a mum and baby 'group' that is run 10 miles or so from me - it is part welsh/part english so will be a great intro to welsh for baby and I together. :D

Weather has been awful but all ok with pony etc. Wind seems to have died down a bit this evening thankfully.

DH is full of a cold - not like him at all.

Did a bit more xmas shopping - got a bargain Leapster 2 for my LO from argos - £54 knocked down to £40 then another £10 off as we got a voucher when we bought eldest daughters netbook/laptop the other day! lol :D
Really only a few bits and a couple of games to get for LO now for xmas and we're just about sorted.
DH wants an SLR digital camera but is waiting till after xmas for the sales! lol

well have been up again since 4am.. hips sore & baby awake! lol I guess at least the sore hips will ease in time! lol

31 days till my due date!!
6 weeks till my sister comes down for New Year!!
And in that 6 weeks.. i have planned a lovely Xmas - and .. having a baby!!
OMG!!!! That doesn't sound long does it.. six little weeks! lol if baby hasn't arrived by the time my sister gets here I'll have less than a week till they start screaming induction but lets not go there! lol

We were talking Xmas decs yesterday DH and I.. as people in our street (all be it the avid xmas lovers) have put up their decs already!! yes and turned them on! lol NO WAY I said to my girls as we drove past the other night! :p
So.. the beginning of Dec is our 'goal' on that. We are planning to take them to see Santa on the 28th or 29th of November all going well. That's the last weekend in November. So I think we could safely start putting decs up that week then. :) I say start as we have about 5 tree's of varying types! lol We have to see what we can ' fit in' this year given birth pool loitering in the kitchen etc.

Wind is still wild here, no rain at the moment though I don't think so that's something.

Planning a day of 'attack' on the spare room again.. DH still wants it to become the nursery - but honestly I don't think it wants to be itself as it keeps magically filling with 'stuff' lol
We'll see how we get on today.

Did a wash of baby nappies last night so they're satisfyingly airing in the bathroom! lol got one of those over the bath airers - Girls have strict instructions NOT too touch them.. especially LO who at 5 you can imagine could be forgiven for thinking they are face cloths! lol

Well. thats it for now.. off for some frosties I think I'm blooming starving! lol

Well... lots of xmas shopping this morning.. followed by a lovely lunch with DH at the beefeater.. followed by Braxtons all the way home.. then having to RUN to the loo! Oops!! Must be my iron tablets I'm sure as I don't eat meat or fish so no dodgy meal possibilities. Just blooming glad I was home!! I'd only been in 10 minutes!!

Got a lovely dress for my baby from M&S

in cashmere blend - newborn size - so it can be under the tree for xmas or for when she arrives whichever is sooner! lol

Also almost finished the girls - only a few little stocking fillers to get. LO we got a leapster 2 for (leapfrog handheld game) and picked up 3 for 2 on the games at £20 a pop that was welcome! lol
Eldest has a netbook, so got her headphones for that, slippers (ugg style) and red pjs in polka dot (flanellette as she loves warm pj's... ) She also loves red! lol

So.. all in all we've done really well and I'm chuffed to bits to be able to relax about it now. Bit of food shopping for dry goods /chocs and alcohol for OH and then just fresh food when it's time. :)

Oh and got a couple of feeding bra's for me too. :)

Well more BH last night and again this morning - I woke at 6am 'wimpering' according to my DH. lol I'd woken him - I was in pain on my sides but that's not unusual when I first wake - eases on the walk to the loo. :p
Got back into bed to BH every 4 mins.. just mild though so didn't get up. Had a lazy lay in for nearly 90 mins before LO got up! lol Laying planning xmas etc with DH was lovely quiet time. :) Lets face it we won't get a lot of together quiet time for a while once baby arrives! lol

Not much on today but hoping to take the girls to see santa at a kids amusement / animal park tomorrow.

That dress is so cute :princess: Hope you're enjoying your lazy day x

Thanks Vickie - hope you're feeling a bit better as you're approaching the magical 12 week stage! Feels so much better beyond there.

Well there are only 3 pics left on my pregnancy ticker!
28 days to go till my due date, so figured now is the time to NOT concentrate on that date.. as the chart above shows only 70% arrive by then! lol And as I went late with Erin it's likely I'll go late again. Though I did go naturally and after 5 days so all is not lost.

Today.. i'm 36 weeks!
Feels fab but next week has a special meaning regarding home birth being 'fine' depending how my blood test goes this wednesday. :D

I'm thrilled to be getting ever closer.

Am still having regular BH early morning and evening through till after bedtime! lol not too painful most of the time though just 'there'.

I looked into using my hypno birthing practise to relax them, but instead am sticking to just 'breathing' through them and identifying the rise and fall of the 'surge' - all be it mild.

Weather is GRIM in capitals for sure. We were going to go see santa at an amusement / animal park 40 miles away but given the cost, distance and location are having a change of plan.

Not 100% sure what we'll do till my eldest gets up in 10 mins or so as we have to go and see to our horse first. DH won't let me go it alone anymore - he scowls at me whenever I suggest it and insists we all come. The girls only have to come when they're off school so not too bad and they enjoy it so that's good. :D

1st babies often come late and subsequent ones a bit quicker so you might not be here forever :D Hope everything's OK with the bloods and bubs hangs on at least another week.
The weather's awful here too but my hometown is Workington in Cumbria and all my family and friends are going through hell right now so I feel bad moaning about it!
Good for hubby not letting you see to your horse by yourself! ;)
